Who or What is A Connor Traut?
I don’t know much about someone called Connor Traut, but he’s running to represent Fullerton as our next County Supervisor for the 4th District. This lad, I am told, is on the City Council in Buena Park where he carpetbagged a while back to run for office. I am also informed he was once the political protégé of one-time wunderkind Jordan Brandman, the Anaheim councilman who went nuts and died of severe meth intoxication.
This appears to be one of those Young (fill in the party name) types who hover around political circles and crave the attention that only elective office can bring. OC politics is full of these people who would rather have an unaccountable job in politics than honest work, even as a lawyer. He says he’s a “consumer protection trial attorney,” on his campaign website but on his business website we discover he’s really a personal injury lawyer, or so he says. Better to stick with consumer protection, which is probably a safe thing to say, in a space where you can sneak into the USA, have everyone call you doctor, and are actually dumb enough to believe you are sincere. But whatever it is Traut does, it’s obvious this youngster would rather be a full-time politician.
I don’t know about you, but it seems unseemly for somebody to start politicking for an office a year and a half before the primary in 2026. Could have at least waited a few weeks, ’til 2025.
Anyhow, it seems the young Trautlet has been super-busy getting endorsements from the usual suspects – the claque of local Democrat small fry. Check out the “partial” endorsement list.
If some of these names look familiar to you, you’d have good reason. Many of these establishment Democrats just endorsed the otiose campaign of Vivian Jaramillo. It appears that there is an effort to produce an inevitability around the callow Connor, the same strategy that failed so spectacularly for Team Jaramillo.
What’s interesting about this list is one name that is not on it – Dr. Ahmad Zahra. I wonder why this is. It’s pretty obvious that Zahra could try for something else in the 2026 Primary – like replacing Sharon Quirk in the State Assembly. So why not endorse The Traut? Is it just an embarrassing omission?
As a fun side note, I see that Senator Josh Newman is euphemistically referred to as “retired,” although he is still in office. I guess this will avoid having to change the website in a few weeks. Some suggested Newman might run for Supervisor. Guess not. Ditto Quirk who is an endorser, or her husband, the limitlessly clownish Jesus Quirk-Silva.
Who else might run for 4th District Supervisor? Well, Fullerton’s Fred Jung, for one. He has name ID and a huge pile o’ cash that will put the Traut Show to shame. He just got over 70% of the vote in his re-election bid without needing any institutional Democrat Party support at all. I wonder if Jung were to run we might not see a Zahra spoiler candidacy as a way to split the vote of Fullerton – the largest city completely within the 4th District. This could explain the non-endorsement by Zahra.
Fullerton’s Mayor, Nick Dunlap could give it a go. He’s just destroyed Jan Flory in his re-election by a huge margin and can raise cash. But he doesn’t seem the type who craves political office or the proverbial limelight. How about Bruce Whitaker? He could try, as the County has a long history of antiquated politicians looking for a nice Supervisorial pasture – incumbent Doug “Bud” Chaffee, for one. He could get Republican votes, but that doesn’t seem enough anymore; and he can’t raise money and will be out of office. Some Repuglican hack from Brea? Steve Vargas ran in 2022 and came in 4th.
I can see no other plausible candidates unless we see the return of Fire Hero, Coto Joe Kerr, who ran for this seat in 2022, or some other as yet unseen phony carpetbagger.

Traut is the worst kind of politician. He is a liar, a charlatan, and a wokehole extreme. Pretty sure he shared a few pipes with Brandman too.
What has he lied about?
He lied about being from Buena Park. He is a carpetbagger. He lied about anther CSD board member to weasel his way onto the Centralia School District Board. Lying is his native tongue. He is the worst sort of politician and is a despicable human being — just like Brandman was.
He did endorse lying racist Farrah Khan who has a propensity for stabbing those closest to her in tne back. So there is that. Connor supports racists!!!

This could be the OC Dem game plan to keep Fred out of that job. Right up Ajay Mohan’s alley. But they would have to promise “Dr.” Zahra something to take on an electoral loss. More likely they would get a Zahra endorsed candidate who do the Markowitz-like job.
Of course this may be bad over-analysis. Could be that Troutling is smart enough to avoid the Zahra baggage train.
I think you’re right about over analysis. Still, a divided Fullerton vote would help The Trout who will be going for the flatland Anaheim vote. But he is unknown there, too.

He had zero business running for a seat on the Centralia School District board. He had no experience or credentials and no children in the system. He moved into the area specifically to run for office (carpetbagger) because it was a low barrier to entry. He used the backs of the CESD kids as a stepping stone to Buena Park City Council and now his aspirational desire to be an OC Supervisor. He is Jordan Brandman’s mini me. Same ego. Same lack of integrity and ethics. Same formula for climbing the political latter. Same horrible attitude and contempt for the people he was allegedly elected to serve.

You know it’s bad over there when hacks like the Jung flunky Castaneda can get a seat at the table. I’ve expected to see this chump sniffing around city hall since he quit over there.
Brandman, Traut, Castaneda, Zahra. Birds of a feather. Political climber and useless.
La Palma is even worse. They have the least competent city council and worst city manager in the county.
Conner Trout is another in a long time of silver spooned piss ants who ride on daddy’s coattails to be a somebody. His list of endorsements reads like a who’s who of liberal nonsense. Josh Newman who got his ass kicked by an unknown Steven Choi. Sharon Quirk who handcuffs Fullerton to ten thousand more homes and fifty thousand more residents. Aaruni Thakur who doesn’t live in the district and should be recalled and investigated. He is proud of this line up of political turds. Kids these days!

Traut is bad for Fullerton, Orange County and the State of California. His hero is Gavin Newsom and he aspires to be just like him. That’s all I have to say about that.

You obviously don’t know who is who in the county. Connor’s daddy Eric fancies himself a bigwig in the OC legal community. I think daddy was the president of the OC Bar Association like Ashleigh’s daddy was long ago. Connor is playing on his dad’s name and fame ala Ashleigh’s playbook. Apparently not so much! Anyhoo, Tammy Kim identified him as Connor Trout on her list of political endorsements for her failed bid as Irvine mayor this past General election
The fact he would accept an endorsement from pro Azerbaijan loser Josh the Turd Newman should be troubling. Azerbaijan is neither free nor democratic among other things.
Traut is a First Order Wokehole. If you like Newsom and Trudeau, you’ll love Traut. All hat, no ranch.
In defense to his webmaster, I think the programmer mis-understood Josh Newman’s title: Connor said “FIRED” not “RETIRED”. But never mind, he bought Greg Diamond a Churro once at the CADEM convention, so he must be cool.
The Trout is not a “youngster.” He’s 30 years old, or so. Like Brandman he exudes a Peter Pan quality of being not quite grown up. Females of all ages loved that about the the toothless, meth addled Brandman. It brought out their maternal instinct, I guess.
Unlike Brandman this fella has no big institutional support of the sort that created and nurtured the career of the talent-free Brandman.
