You Want Blight? We Got Blight!

Dear Friends, we know that the issue of blight relative to the proposed Redevelopment expansion may seem confusing to you, perhaps even a bit abstract. So we have decided to collect some images of blight to help you get the picture. To be fair, and consistent, we have tried to stick to the City’s own standard (or worse) as we collected pictures not in the proposed area, but in the existing Redevelopment Project Area – to let you also see what a bang-up job the city is doing to eradicate blight already, especially with subsidized projects that it has already built!

  1. Hey wait a minute, isnt that tagged to death mural of the gang member’s car a sacred mural in Fullerton? Just ask Gustavo Arellano.

  2. It’s a blighted mural. But the City’s gonna pay to fix it cuz the ‘hood don’t give a damn. And then they can pay again when WSA tags it all over again!

  3. Great post. What’s their answer to Redevelopment blight? More Redevelopment!

Just think we might be only one vote away from cleaning house.

BTW, I like the idea of a once-a-week post sharing more images of blight in the existing areas.

Harpoon, I echo your enthusiasm for such posts! I also really like the phrase, “Redevelopment Blight”, it has an ironic ring to it!

  5. OCCCCO, your organization is such a valuable asset to Fullerton, I urge Sharon and Shawn to change your vote on the redevelopment expansion in order to have a complete consensus and harmony with our wonderful city council.

They really need the city’s money so they can help keep Fullerton nice and clean and wonderful. A place for all of us to enjoy and work together making Fullerton the Education Community that it is 🙂
