The Phone Call. Was it Made? If So, By Whom And Why?

Oh, you haven't seen the last of me...

From the very beginning of the Kelly Thomas beating death at the hands, Tasers, fist and feet of the Fullerton Police Department, that department’s spokeshole, Sergeant Andrew Goodrich told the public that the fateful incident was intiated with a phone call: a phone call to the dispatcher stating that somebody was breaking into cars in the vicinity of the Transportation Center.

From the get go, the story sounded absurd to people who knew Kelly Thomas and who averred that Thomas wasn’t violent or a thief. And of course to a public that has come to understand that Sergeant Goodrich seems incapable of telling the smallest bit of truth, the idea that there was a call at all became a matter of doubt.

Tellingly, the police have issued no information about this mysterious phone call and who made it, and so far they have given no indication that they have the slightest iota of evidence that anybody was breaking into cars at all.

This is important, because it lends credence to the idea that the phone call, if there was one, was made in collaboration with the police themselves. This could implicate both caller and cops in a conspiracy. A conspiracy to do what? Since the result of the incident was the bludgeoning death of a harmless man, that question is almost to horrible to contemplate. But at the very least the facts lead to the reasonable deduction that the conspiracy, if it existed, was meant to deprive Kelly Thomas of his civil rights – a violation of the First, Fourth, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment right, to be specific.

Of course making a false report to the police is some sort of crime (although Goodrich has yet to make an honest report to the public, which seems to be A-OK to his higher ups and the City Council). So somebody should be in big trouble for that alone.

Was there a call? If so, who made the call and why? I don’t know, but I admonish the Do-nothing DA and the Federal investigators to find out. You can bet Ron Kelly’s attorney Garo Mardirossian and his investigators will. Soon.

Time to come clean.

The call was made to a non-emergency number to avoid a 911 tape. made from the Sleazebar in a conspiracy with FPD. Homeles people were interrupting the bathroom coke sales.

  3. #3 by Fullerton Is It on August 21, 2011

Just like all your other demands that have been shoved up your azz, this one has too. You don’t dictate how people do things. That has been made clear and the further delay is just to make that point clear. You will get information, see video, etc when they say you will and no sooner.

The phone call is part of that. The defaming of uninvolved parties is ridiculous and illegal, and will lead to lawsuits against Bushala and anyone else directly involved.

  4. #4 by truthseeker on August 21, 2011

This blog is what Fullerton needs. The lid is blowing off the COVER-UP. You know that one lie needs another to cover and before long you are up all night trying to remember what you lied about and who and how many know that they are lies. The bags under the eyes of the department spokesperson are pretty telling. Such a shame. We all know the truth and soon the truth will stand on its own.

Jeremy didn’t make the call. A Slidebar manager did. That person feels awful for following Jeremy’s policy to call FPD in a particular manner (reporting that a crime is in progress) that allows them to be aggressive from the get-go. I believe this method was developed between Jeremy and his FPD cronies because Jeremy thinks the homeless scum is bad for his business. Well Jeremy, let me tell you what is ultimately bad for your business. When your staff is questioned by the FBI, and they will be, and it comes out that you have an internal policy dictating that staff call in false claims of criminal activity, you will face the following:

Your self described fame will turn to infamy and your business will fail.
You will face numerous state and federal criminal charges.
You will loose whatever wealth you have accumulated to the various civil lawsuits that will come from the Thomas family, and in all probability, your staff.

Clown: “You don’t dictate how people do things.”

Racer X: Of course we don’t, and you are included in the group. Do you really think you can dictate how I do things?

Clown: “That has been made clear and the further delay is just to make that point clear. You will get information, see video, etc when they say you will and no sooner.”

Racer X: We all know something fishy is going on from day one. A cover up, a theater play, drama queens wearing blue uniforms (oh! I’m so stressed out that I need to leave the FPD office for a few weeks, Oh! these protests are giving me headaches…), Where have you been?

Clown: “The phone call is part of that.”

    Racer X: Really?

Clown: “The defaming of uninvolved parties is ridiculous and illegal, and will lead to lawsuits against Bushala and anyone else directly involved.”

Racer X: I seriously think you need a lawyer. I don’t doubt that Tony Bushala is in the eye of everyone involved in the murder of Kelly Thomas, did you read well Clown? MURDER; but don’t worry too much, it will take years and years before they make someone else accountable for what happened. The six bastards are going down and we will keep protesting every single Saturday so you better get used to it.

  21. #21 by Tracey on August 21, 2011

1.Homeless people do not break into cars.

    2. People who break into cars don’t stick around at the scene of the crime.

Kelly was not breaking into cars. He was doing what he normally did which was living HIS life the way he was capable given an illness that made it impossible for him to live what most of us would consider a “normal” life. Mental Illness is an equal opportunity destroyer. Any of us could wake up tomorrow and start exhibiting signs of many forms of mental illness and it would be BEYOND our control. Those of you who bash Kelly for the way he lived should be ashamed of yourselves and should also start praying hard that you and your loved ones don’t wake up someday feeling as helpless as he did knowing he was losing all control of his thoughts and mind.

I am so proud to see the love and support and PROTEST against the FPD, DA, and all others responsible, that Kelly and his family are getting.

I want to know who initiated this murder. I think it is key. Don’t give up FFFF on getting the answer to this very important question.

your wrong. the possessions in kellys backpack did not come from someones car. The backpack he was wearing for two days. All the items where still there when the pack was eventualy returned to the owner. If his intent was malice many of those belongings in the pack would have been thrown away. The call could have been fictitious on the basis that the police already had a tip on the pack.

corrupt is right. It is not legal to shoot someone to stop a property crime. Murder in self-defense is exactly as it sound. You must prove that given the situation, the average person would have feared for their life or physical welfare.

  34. #34 by corrupt on August 21, 2011

What kind of cars do the killer cops drive?… Why is Tony’s car relevant to the beating death of a man and the cover up?

  35. #35 by Randy on August 21, 2011

In the absence of useful information, one wonders whether anyone actually made a complaint regarding auto burglaries. So far, we only have the word of Goodrich. There are other possibilities.
For example, according to FPD, the electronic surveillance system auto dispatches units occasionally based on suspicious movement patterns – like Kelly pacing around looking for descent sized ciggy butts? This seems doubtful because one would think a “robo dispatch” would not be probable cause to rifle though Kelly’s personal effects.
Also, there was a guy who called KFI and mentioned he’d seen FPD having a discussion with kelly a day or so before the incident.
Hopefully, this did not take place on the 4th of July because it is doubtful they were discussing what actually cracked the Liberty Bell. Anyway, the camera rotates by joystick or whatever. The watch commander could have been monitoring Kelly before any patrol cars even arrived on scene. In this case, the video has captured the entire encounter void any obstructions.
Maybe no one really made a call. Maybe someone made a legitimate call. It would be tragic if someone made a false complaint because kelly was an eyesore.
Here is some interesting info on that surveillance system: http://kallahar.com/stories/20080608_fullerton_cameras/
Note the video at the bottom of the page.

  36. #36 by Dean on August 21, 2011

I think this is a hugely important question. It would show conspiracy if a person could be proven to having been coached by the FPD on what to say and how to report a homeless person for the maximum possible effect (i.e. removing him/her from the vicinity).

I just can’t believe that the FPD would not look into who made the alleged phone call. It would help their case a little if that person came forward and testified that he/she *saw* KT breaking into cars, right? Since the witness is not coming forward, then in my opinion either the phone call never happened, or the person who made the call is afraid of prosecution (for good reason).

  37. #37 by corrupt on August 21, 2011

California does not have a Castle Law, so you cannot kill someone just because they are in your home. You have to show intent or action of immenent danger to attack or bodily harm. 6 fully armed cops and one skinny unarmed homeless guy…. If the average citizen were to beat to death an unarmed homeless guy running away from them, they would be in prison for murder. The homeless guy running away did away with your claim to great bodily harm or attack. By chasing him down you show that you are now the aggressor and now you are the one who is breaking the law.

Someone must have mentioned an identity of someone on that call

  51. #51 by Fred Alcazar on August 21, 2011

Really? Then how come Goodrich was so quick to indicate that Kelly had “legal documents” in his possession – which turned out to be trash from some lawyer’s office – and nothing else. FPD would has always been forthcoming with their own brand of partial info and spin.

I want to know if there was a call, and if there was, who made it. I want to know if there was collusion to make and respond to a false police report. The latter suggests “malice aforethought” and premeditation to commit a crime and a civil rights violation.

  57. #57 by Joe Sipowicz on August 21, 2011

I didn’t say they didn’t have info. If no call came in the cops behavior could have been based on earlier agreement with, say, a local business owner/employee. Or it might have finally become personal with no third party involved.

As I recall the original “statement” from Goodrich described a call that referred to somebody matching Kelly’s appearance burglarizing cars. In the absence of any evidence that a crime was committed, that naturally leads one to the conclusion that the call was in fact, bogus – a set up.

I became suspicious that the police could have been involved in setting up the victim because the changing stories told by Goodrich were so transparently illogical and it seemed like such a crazy overreaction to suspicion of burglary.

Of course I don’t know if this is what happened, but I want find out.

If there are records of a phone call being made to report “someone” breaking into cars, would that strengthen fpd position? It seems to me that it would give them reason to be in the vicinity, and to’ perhaps make contact with K. Thomas, but not to beat him to death. On the flipside of that, if anyone in the slidebar, where the call MAY have generated from, has any information/proof that the call was made in collusion with the fpd for the specific purpose of depriving K. Thomas of his cival rights ought come forward, it could be very lucrative, with the right attorney representing you, it must be very stressful to have been subjected to this “cover-up” (if one exists) to try to do your job, and fear being subjected to an escalating level of scrutiny when the FBI starts digging, if a BLOG considered this possibility, I’m sure the FBI will too. After all, wasn’t stress one of the factors to cause cheif M. Sellers to go on medical leave? I couldn’t find a listing in oc register for car burglary report, wonder if they are all reported..
scroll down to map and pick the date..
none come up for fullerton… must not have been a 911 call

  81. #81 by Fullerton Rudy on August 21, 2011

“Of course making a false report to the police is some sort of crime (although Goodrich has yet to make an honest report to the public, which seems to be A-OK to his higher ups and the City Council).”

    Hilarious!

Would you say he was…bad for business?

  83. #83 by Hmm on August 21, 2011

Because you know what else is bad for business? A bar that attracts every douchebag in Orange County.

But don’t believe everything you hear. Right, J?

  84. #84 by merijoe on August 21, 2011

For all the trollfaces who beleive “innocent until proven guilty” no matter what, too bad that right wasnt given to Kelly,
and where’s all the evidence that he was breaking into cars? where was it that night?

  85. #85 by Hmm on August 21, 2011

Interesting. Care to give us more reason to speculate on who made the call?

Are we too “braindead” to figure it out?

  86. #86 by Hmm on August 21, 2011

The fact that you are OK with using the term “brain dead” in regards to this tragedy shows you are disconnected. That’s okay, perfectly normal for someone carrying shame and guilt. Or sociopaths.

  87. #87 by Hmm on August 21, 2011

So you’re apart of the FPD gang? You’re just as guilty?

    Who’s “we”? Tree hugging idiots?

Man up. Make a genuine public statement. Or else we’re going to keep thinking in our little dreamland that someone from Slidebar made that call. Whaddya got to lose?

  88. #88 by nomad on August 21, 2011

I believe I read on another post by “rdfrench” that the call may have been made to a non emergency # (not 911) would that type of call be reported by the o.c. register? I’m sure FBI could and would obtain phone records if they feel it relevant to the investigation

  89. #89 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

i really don’t know if they are or not..
i feel very sad for you all and what your city is going thru.. where is the transparency that was promised..
i have yet to see anything that remotely looks good for the pd..
i’m sure they are not all bad, but you do need to clean house it seems..
i really hope for the best outcome for you all, and hope that no one gets hurt..
seems there are ppl here that try to egg others on..
pls stay strong and don’t stoop to their level..

  90. #90 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

i also read on one of the posts that the bar owners wife quit her job at hot topic, because she had commented about the incident that night..

Oh, and while I have it in front of me, the # for the Office of the D.A. 1- 714-834-3600 open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. mon.-fri. Give ‘em a call, let ‘em know you expect a thorough investigation to be done by thier office. One call does not matter, several hundred may get thier attention.

  93. #93 by Anonymous on August 21, 2011

By now it must be apparent to all that the entire fullerton ‘police’ department and judicial system is criminal. It’s been way too long without arrests for the murder of Kelly. Not only criminal for the perps that beat Kelly to death but also the ones who called in the false report, the ones who dispatched and watched on video the the murder of Kelly, the ones who’ve helped them lie and re-edit their stories and showed the criminals the video tape. Just total corruption and evil. Reminds me of Hitler’s early regime. Sure am glad i don’t live in fullerton.

  94. #94 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

the whole thing is very sad..
    i adore fullerton…
they thing that troubles me the most is..
i used to travel around for work, and the pd’s that i came across, all seemed to know the homeless in their town, some on a first name basis…
fullerton is such a small town, the bus depot so close to the pd station, i cannot believe they didn’t know kelly and what his issues were…
and to think that 6 officers allowed this to go as far as it did is heartbreaking..
this is really bad.,. i’m so sorry to see this happen to any city..
there is no way to justify this..

  95. #95 by merijoe on August 21, 2011

Anonymous-before you celebrate that you dont live in fullerton-are you positive and assured none of this could happen in your city? I just wish other city officials would make some sort of statement (other than Beverly Hills)

  97. #97 by I call BS on August 21, 2011

You travel for work, and somehow know that the cops in the towns you travel to, know the names of the homeless? How, pray tell do you know that?

  98. #98 by Just me on August 21, 2011

Yep. Jeremys wife did in fact quit her job at Hot Topic HQ because the next day at work not knowing the severity she told a handful of co worker about the incident.

This will all come out. And believe me, it will.
    Keep hatin’.

And yes it was the non emergency number and it was made by Jeremy, from his office.
Just a bit of managerial advice for Jeremy…. be careful who knows what details, you have a few employees that like to talk to anyone with questions. :)
And when this hits, these shit talking haters will be nowhere to be found.

I was there on Saturday. I couldn’t stay as long as I wanted, but I’m glad I got to see it all for myself and get a little personal perspective.

I was impressed by the demonstration; considering how blasé we sometimes are here in SoCal — I say this by way of confession — it’s borderline miraculous that what the FPD assumed was just business as usual has blossomed into a thriving, growing anti-police brutality crusade.

After driving through the demonstration a couple times and taking it all in, I drove over to where Kelly was attacked. Like everyone else, I’d seen it at least a dozen times on YouTube and the news, but what struck me when I saw it up close and personal is how small an area it is. And granted, I was there on a very busy Saturday afternoon, but even so, I imagine this would be a busy place on a summer evening as well. Busses and commuter trains coming and going, restaurants and pubs all over the place, people driving in and out; it seems a little unlikely that a lost soul like Kelly would be roaming those parking areas looking to break into cars. Something doesn’t fit there. He would have better luck rummaging around in the dumpsters behind any number of businesses instead of trying his hand at breaking and entering. If I’m not mistaken, his backpack contained some trash he found in a lawyer’s garbage can.

So the truth behind the non-911 call is worth digging for, even as certain players in this dirty game are trying their best to bury it deeper.

Yes, I am back, and here we go again with speculation and personal attacks.
I know that my posts are about as welcome as Barak Obama at a Tea Party Rally advocating a Tax Increase; but it is what it is.
To begin I have a lot of information from sources that confirm that the majority of the protesters yesterday were not citizens of Fullerton. Not even close to 75 out of the entire gathering. In fact, most of the protesters were reportedly from the Inland Empire.
There is an incredible amount of finger pointing on this website. Now Jeremy, or the manager, of the Slidebar was the start of this whole thing by calling in a false complaint???? What evidence is there of that?? Folks, there are absolutely no facts supporting this claim!!!!!!
    THE SPECULATION HERE IS UNREAL.
Chris Thompson, you have had some sort of Agenda that goes back, at least I know, to the student computer programs at schools in the Fullerton School District. Tony Bushala, you have been nothing more than a mean spirited GRANDSTANDER, ever since you started this website that focuses on personal attacks and, at times, hate based.
Business owners are being singled out and many lives are being affected by these continued protests from mostly non-Fullerton Residents revolving around distorted information and speculation!
Sgt Goodrich is a fine Officer and he has always represented the FPD well with honesty and integrity.
    STOP POINTING FINGERS!!!!

    Hey Allen..

Tell your buddies at the city hall and fpd to release the

    911 VIDEOS
    911 CALL

ASAP.. and it will immediately exonerate your honorable police force

Surely, we all know Kelly had a habit of bludgeoning himself with nightsticks and tasers and such.. and he loved to throw his skull into police offers knees and batons and such..

NO.. ALLEN. this IS NOT going away.. THE WORLD

will reign supreme on the criminals that bankrupted your tiny township.. and tried to cover up the murder of a homeless schizophrenic by
    THE PROTECTORS OF THE PEACE

THREE WEEKS DUDE… that should frighten you and any relative you have.. it took them three weeks to even get the murderers badges off of them..

PROTOCOL.. for 6 officers is to bludgeon a 160lb man into a coma and leave a HUGE POOL OF BLOOD… there we have it folks.. Allen is all in favor of huge pools of homeless blood if the cops can go free.. Cover it up Allen.. just try..

I think when the medical testimony comes out.. game over for FPD and that city council that coddled them

When you imagine how many people watched that video and watched those “humans” bludgeon that man to death like savages and NOT TURN THEM IN.. sort of scary and pointless to feel we have any control over people like that.. “Protectors of the Peace”

    very frightening..

That video is going to go viral when it comes out for sure.. it will be on every news network around the world.. like a Rodney King episode..

the inside said that one of the officers kept trying to put cuffs on him but the other officers kept beating on his lifeless body and blood was splattering everywhere so he gave up.. really makes you want to let them pull over your son and his date or pull you and your wife over some late night…

    Do YOU TRUST YOUR GOVERNMENT?

  115. #115 by merijoe on August 21, 2011

what is the lighting like in the parking lot containing cars that supposedly Kelly or “someone that looked like him” was supposed to be “breaking into” and is that particular parking lot in the open?
Personally, I do not believe Kelly was breaking into anything, just a good excuse for the animals to murder him and falsely claim “he was resisting”- and they had help from a few of their greedy pig businessmen of Fullerton- I believe this murder was a setup, why is to be determined.

I can’t help but think that if you looked up the word “hypocrite” in the dictionary, you would find a picture of good ol’ Allen.

He says (shouts actually, in ALL CAPS — must have an anger problem) to STOP POINTING FINGERS, when that’s exactly what he’s doing in the very same post to Chris Thomas, Tony Bushala, etc.

He says “the speculation here is unreal” in the exact same post where he tries to SPECULATE about the percentage of protesters from Fullerton and those from other municipalities. What are your “sources” exactly, Allen? Did some pinhead with a clipboard walk around and survey every person there about his address and then report back to Officer Allen?? Funny!!!! (By the way, what difference does it make what % of the outraged protesters own or rent in Fullerton and what % cared enough to drive there from some other city?? Does a higher # one way or the other mitigate brutality or excessive force against citizens?).

You are right about one thing — many lives are being affected… most notably the life of a man named Kelly Thomas. He was a human being (if you understood that, you probably wouldn’t be here kissing the you know what of all these “good officers,” like the liar, Sgt. Goodrich, who chose to or had to present the lie about the perjured police reports and testimony in the other case.

What I am wondering is; WHY the cameras and their footage is not available in REAL TIME to the public via a website connection like the city council meetings. (I seem to remember there are traffic cameras that I can click on the see current traffic conditions.)

    Lets >watch them> watch us> watch them>watch us…

People would actually take time out of their lives to protest a murder by cops. Keep being scared Allen. People are getting sick of corrupt cops, plain and simple. You must really be scared that fingers are pointing at you. What is the real cause of your fear? Were you there getting overtime in your blue suit and badge watching the people who really do not like you much right now? 300, 400,500,600 does it matter because FPD was still out numbered… scary huh?

  124. #124 by nomad on August 21, 2011

I think the if a large percentage of the protesters drove in from other cities to support the citizens of Fullerton in thier struggle, that is a good thing, right? There is even a guy that drives in from S.D., I think, to participate. No violence occured, no windows of any business’ were broken city hall & the police station were not razed to the ground. I dont recall any census takers having been there, but they are most welcome to attend and swell our ranks. Just as long as they keep it cool.

  125. #125 by corrupt on August 21, 2011

Nobody answered the question… but to answer yours, yes, I would, if that was the case. Also, you ask how I think he died? I do not have ALL the facts so at this point it would be speculation on my part but I will say I know enough and the DA knows enough to have come out and say that it was not murder. And the fact that he died in the hands of 6 officers, it has happened before, several times and especially with people who have mental illness and not because they were beat to death. So again, I ask, IF you find out that the FACTS prove that K. Thomas was NOT MURDERED, will you apologize???

  153. #153 by nipsey on August 21, 2011

Wait, he spontanously died because of his mental illness.. His heart was too crazy to keep beating?

  154. #154 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

if kelly had been that out of control, aggitated, wouldn’t the officers called for help from the fire/paramedics also?? kelly needed help immediatly if that were the case…
i am really trying to understand this..
there is just more wrong with this whole story, than right..

  155. #155 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

Still love Fullerton………. did the cops call for help? Did they call the paramedics?

  156. #156 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

Nipsey…….. do your homework on mental illness so you know what you are talking about.

  157. #157 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

i have never used the word murdered..
i would not use that lightly..
but the city is sure dragging their feet with getting and facts out to help ppl understand anything, and i feel this is wrong..
the protests are not going to stop obviously, and not responding is just making things worse
so i don’t feel that i need to apologize to anyone at this point

  158. #158 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

still love fullerton….. I didn’t say you used the word murder but several on here have. What I asked you is did the cops call for help for K. Thomas? Did they call the paramedics? You said wouldn’t the officers have called for help? I am asking you if they did or did not?

  159. #159 by Of Course on August 21, 2011

  164. #164 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

i have no idea if they called paramedics or not, but if they had, the fire dept is right down the street.. they should have arrived with the backup

which was NOT shown on the vid

i believe eventually they did, sadly too late…
    damage done…

An open question has been posed on this board to the effect if the fullerton 6 are found innocent would anyone here offer a public apology? I think that’s fair question, and I for one would, whats more I would yell it from the rooftops. If the “fullerton6″ agree to go to prison for life if found guilty.

you have no idea? That is the problem here, nobody has any idea yet everyone is so quick to judge. And what video are you talking about? Have you seen the video that the D.A. has? If so, then you do know what you are talking about and I apologize.

  169. #169 by corrupt on August 21, 2011

I think some on this blog get the big picture. look at history, all you need is a rallying cry, a catalyst, a cause to belive in…

Rosa Parks went from an angry black lady to the start of nation changing movement.

9-11 caused the ranks of the armed forces to swell and started a global war that has led to the toppling of nations.

Civil war started because of people getting tired of not having a voice.

People getting fed up have overthrown kings, religions, goverments, emporers…. nations.

Yeah the government and its employees are scared of a bunch of rabble rousers with a justifiable cause.

Yeah this could get ugly and probably not much good will come out of it if a full conflict erupts, one side has to back down… but what we do know is that things have changed in Fullerton Government, no matter who backs down first. the Feds are not here just to do an investigation, they are here to try to keep this from getting ugly.

  170. #170 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

Well nomad, that is not up to you or I, that would be decided by a jury. But thank you for saying you would shout it from the rooftop. And as far as what the 6 officers would agree to, I am not one of them so I will not speak for them.

  171. #171 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

corrupt? Would you apologize if proof comes out that K. Thomas was not murdered?

  172. #172 by nipsey on August 21, 2011

That’s retarded. The single, unarmed guy was beaten to death, so how is there an ‘innocent’ anywhere in there?

The only open question is not innocence, but what particular variety of guilty. 2nd degree murder? Negligent homicide? We’ll find out.

  173. #173 by still love fullerton on August 21, 2011

  174. #174 by Kevin on August 21, 2011

I mostly agree with Ed. Though I’d hate to turn away voices, I’d be careful not to let ANSWER take over and would encourage unaffiliated protesters not to use ANSWER advertising (signs) to march. Spend a few bucks and make your own signs and banner to distribute.

I’d be okay with any ANSWER people marching in the group as long as they are not sending unrelated political messages, and don’t let their name become the lead or spokesholes for this. If they persist, then ask them to stand as a separate group and not mix.

  175. #175 by corrupt on August 21, 2011

No, because there can be no reason for 6 fully armed officers to beat a guy to death. It should have been stopped by at least one officer. As soon as it was no longer a tactical advantage to still beat on Kelly it should have stopped. OJ was found innocent by a jury but I do not believe that one either. I do not believe burning Chu Lai and killing women and children was necessary. I do not believe Obama and Holder know nothing about selling guns to cartels.. I do not believe alot of things that people say they have proof on. I do not believe Meserlhe meant to kill Oscar Grant but he did and he stood trial for it… just like these cops will.

  176. #176 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

  178. #178 by Sid G. on August 21, 2011

thanks for providing the link to ANSWER. Its good to know there are still some people out there who want to protect America against the hipocritic terrorist State of Isreal which promises to destroy America rather than allow non Jews to remain in their homeland.

  179. #179 by I ♥ COPS on August 21, 2011

Okay corrupt….. you have made up your mind and when the proof comes out well, you will have to live with it, like it or not. Your little close mind represents the mentality of this blog. You have no proof of anything you say, nothing to back it up, no facts which I have asked for several times (so I can understand where you are coming from). I ask you for facts and you offer to put a dollar in my g-string. That says a lot about you and if the others on here are on your level, well, we should all be thankful that you are not a police officer or run this city. Just live with it corrupt. You have no choice.

You seem to be the one that is dead set that nothing happened…. can you even entertain that thought? Your screen name says it all. Something bad happened that night and the paid protectors left a man braindead in a gutter. A tattoed up gangbanger with a gun? A pedophile child killer? No, a mentally handicapped unarmed guy who was running away. My mind is closed… please….. Your up the DJ is motioning you to dance.

I watched the march coming toward me down Commonwealth last Saturday as I was walking to the PD for the protest. Tears in my eyes to see a city in so much pain. I can’t get over it. It permeates my life, every day. It has changed how I feel about city gov’t. Makes me realize all citizens should take a good look at who’s running the city.

  200. #200 by I am Kelly on August 21, 2011

Get your information correct. Turned out Kelly didn’t have anything stolen in his backpack or on his person. Even if he did that doesn’t warrant beating him to DEATH! Even if he ran and was resisting arrest the FPD aren’t judge, jury and executioner! But they sentenced him to DEATH and carried out the execution. Kelly was never arrested or charged with a crime.

Some investigation! The DA is best buds with the Fullerton Chief of police How transparent or unbiased do you think the investigation will really be?

I bet the cops were not even called out.
Fucking pigs always say “we stopped you today because we received a phone call”. This is complete bullshit. I think there should be more accountability on these so called calls to the police from citizens.

Cops from all over America violate our 4th amendment by saying they received a call and from that they have probable cause. I say that is not probable cause unless they have proof of the actual call. I don’t know about you guys but I’m really sick of cops using that just to give them the right to check your papers. IT’S WRONG!

This is the same shit as a cop walking around in Disneyland walking up to random people checking there papers… or hell with Disneyland… lets say the mall, park, zoo, at the local Burger king.

I just want to say that before all of these horrific injustices happened in Fullerton, I was a proude Fullertonian. I will say that now that these things have come to light I am more proud now to be from Fullerton than ever. The people standing up to these injustices are amazing and I am so proud to be affiliated with them. The powers that be will not get away with murder, depriving people of their civil rights, and outright corruption. I love this City and I love the people that live here. United we stand and we will NOT fall. This blog is fantastic and I have seen nothing that is fabricated or falsified what-so-ever. I don’t want to be ruled by corrupt City officials and corrupt peace officers that don’t look out for the citizens they are sworn to protect. We live in great City. A great County. A great State! But we the people need to monitor the officials that work for US. We employ them and if they cannot police themselves then we will step in and they will be accountable to us, the people. Those of you trolling this site, we are not out to get you. We are fighting for YOUR rights as well as ours. You may hate us and that is your right. If you ever end up on the wrong side of the Fullerton Police Department and find yourself in an ambulance, I think you will not disapprove of the protesters any longer. Hater or not, we are standing up for everyone. The Kelly Thomase murder isn’t just an isolated incodent, more and more corruption is coming to light because of Kelly Thomas. And how dare anyone condemn the Thomas family. Keep in mind that Kelly Thomas was someone’s baby. Someone’s child. Someone’s adult child. Their child was brutally murdered in the street like a dog. His crime was being homeless and mentally ill. Use what logic the good lord gave you and logically think about the hate you are spreading. The hate you are spreading about a dead human being. Kelly Thomas was about as innocent as a 3 year old child. Without medication, schizophrenic persons do not think like an adult or a rational person. They think like a child and when afraid, what does a child do? They run. They run and call for their parents. What did Kelly Do? He ran and cried “Dad, Dad, DAD!”. Does that sound like someone out to hurt the police officers? So, keep hating, but one day you are going to find yourself at the wrong side of corruption and you are going to eat your words and you are going to WISH we were here for you. One thing I have learned in my 40+ years on this earth is that KARMA is a bitch and it never fails. NEVER.

Tony Bushala and friends, THANK YOU! Keep it up and I am right there beside you. Thomas family, I am there with you. Fullertonians, I am there with you!

You need to spend some time with the homeless by the Fullerton Transit Station. You should donate you time time there – at least one day a week, and provide them some food and clothing.

You should spend time advocating for the City to provide shelter for them and other comodities for these decent unfortunate souls. I do.

Instead of bashing your city, work with your city and make positive changes. Try not to get involved because of a tragity that could have occurred anywhere in this country.

Its easy to point a finger as many others in this blog are doing. Take a leap of faith and do something positive and try not to spend time repeating what all of the other bloggers writing about.

Instead of marching in front of the City, consider a food drive. March for the homeless, not against the police. Do it at the Fullerton Station, not City Hall

This dept. has been corrupt for decades. Covering up rapes, theft of property by police officers, misuse of city time (going to Vegas when saying it’s for training), fraud and the like. I bet FPD planted whatever “property” was from a car. I know he (Kelly Thomas) was hogtied while the murder was occuring, I know what these people are capable of and Sgt. Andy is a worthless POS. He is an overpaid sissy who ran and hid on calls for service during his ‘patrol days’. You should be ashamed of yourself or are you one of them???!!!

    @ rdfrench
Even a cell phone call can be traced. It would have gone thru the nearest cell tower to the FPD. This info can be subpoenaed from the cell phone companies. Also, the easier way would be to subpoena the phone records for ALL non-emergency lines at the FPD. It can then be narrowed down regardless of whether the call was a land line or cell phone call. I really hope the Thomas family atty. does this and makes this information public.

No Allen knows exactly what is going on… It is the last ditch effort of a convicted criminal to exonerate himself….. he believes if he tells a lie long enough that people will believe it… it worked in the 20′s Russia… it worked in the 30′s and 40′s Germany.. and it works in muslim countries today…. but it will not work in Southern California regarding the Kelly Thomas murder .. an unarmed homeless guy who was “questioned” under to be proven circumstances ended up braindead in a gutter while 6 armed cops stood around and watched him bleed into the gutter were allowed to get their “stories straight” … come on Allen… can you hear the cuffs jingle jingle … that aint Santa that is the CDCR coming to take you away. Sorry Allen but I will clap when you go away, because my kids will be safe from at least one killer…

To all the “Fullerton 6″ and their spouses/friends posting here… the feds have the authority to subponea computer records and confiscate computers. They can actually look up our IP’s and get our addresses and names off of these posts. Please be carefull when you adamantly try to exonerate your spouse/buddy / partner . I am on a limb but I believe Tony would comply with a federal investigation quicker than Fullerton would… all your emails back and forth to each other can be retrieved by the feds, lets see how many of the “6″ end up with computers that they do not know where they went…. this includes any computer in the house… lap top. PC kids computer etc…. yeah they do it. Your I phone accounts are in there too…. keep em comming…. the proof is building up.

  258. #258 by Chris on August 21, 2011

In regards to the original topic of this blog post…we ALREADY know who made the phone call. We can safely say that Jeremy Popoff, co-owner of the Slide Bar, is the one who made the fake call to the police. He called the non-emergency dispatch number, and so there isn’t any 911 recording. Since the Slide Bar is apparently a cop hang out, one of his regulars probably coached him into making a false call to the police, claiming that a crime was taking place (someone was trying to break into cars) to give the police an excuse to go there and “remove” Kelly Thomas. AND we can also safely say that he called the non-emergency number deliberately, so that there wouldn’t be any recording. One of his cop friends no doubt told him how to do all this.

The whole thing was a setup from the very beginning. Kelly Thomas wasn’t just murdered, he was virtually executed. I say “virtually” only because at this point I don’t think Jeremy Popoff wanted to have Kelly Thomas actually killed. But he also didn’t care what happened to Kelly. He wanted him out the way and gone, by whatever means necessary. The Slide Bar is a cop hangout, and he no doubt knew the cops who would be on patrol that day, and who would have been sent to respond to the call. I’m sure he knew full well that Jay Cicinelli and Kenton Hampton were capable of being violent. But that’s who he wanted to get the “job done.” He probably figured they would remove Kelly Thomas, probably kick his ass a little, and finally get rid of him once and for all. I don’t know whether he imagined that they would actually beat him to death. That’s the only reason I’m saying that Jeremey Popoff “virtually” had Kelly Thomas executed.

But…I leave all possibilities open. I think that when we finally get to the bottom of all this and the whole truth is exposed, the real story is going to be more shocking and disgusting than anyone can imagine. We have a whole department of corrupt, rogue police, and a local business who uses them as their hired guns.

By the way, I’m planning to go to Fullerton myself to do a little investigating of my own. My friend’s dad is a former police officer in another city, and his mom also works for the district attorney’s office (in another county, I won’t name which one). His dad often overheard a lot of shady conversations and dealings between city officials and local businesses. They were just sitting at a restaurant, talking about everything. He was sitting at a nearby booth and heard everything. You’d be amazed at the things that crooked officials will talk about if they think that no one is listening.

Maybe I’ll go to Fullerton and do a little snooping and see what else I can find out.

Flood them with links about this case. Mention the band Lit connection and include links to this blog and videos posted on youtube

If they can cover octomom, they sure as hell can cover this
    ———-
From what I see about TMZ online they aren’t even a legitimate news channel. They are an entertainment channel. Okay, this is jmo, but Hollywood is self-absorbed with ‘celebrity’ beyond all sanity. The expression “let them eat cake,” would seem a natural reaction of the general Hollywood population (film industry) and the celebrity crazed media (including CNN with their Piers Morgan replacement for celebrity interviewer Larry King) to the problem of homelessness in America today. Why would those self-aggrandized popinjays care about Kelly Thomas?

Yes there have been and still are a minority of ‘Starz’ who use their celebrity to worthy ends, like Anjelina Jolie, Brat Pitt, Matt Damon, and Sean Penn, to name a few. But, good luck with getting a real newsworthy story on any channel nowadays without a celebrity to push it. The Media are all as starstruck as prepubescent girls.

Now, if Kelly’s last name had been Sheen instead of Thomas and he actually HAD been a drug and alcohol abuser as the trolls here keep chanting with glazed over eyes, he would naturally have been covered by TMZ. Of course if Kelly had been a “BadBoy’ celebrity, like Charlie, all these trolls would be defending him his weaknesses instead of attacking him for being guilty of homelessness. Just sayin.’

Still, I genuinely do wish you real luck with your endeavor.

It happens daily if you didn’t know. Here’s another one for you all to head over too. Another homeless schizo left dead and naked by the cops. Be loud and be heard!! :)

CATHEDRAL CITY (CBS) — A man who had been escorted, naked, by police from the lobby of a downtown Cathedral City motel scuffled with officers an hour later, and then died at Desert Springs Hospital, Cathedral City police said Sunday.

The man, whose name and age has not been released, was first spotted causing a disturbance inside the lobby of an undisclosed motel at 10:35 p.m. Saturday.

Cathedral City officers responded to a call from the innkeeper, escorted the naked man outside and helped him get dressed, police Lt. Glen Haas said.

About an hour later, officers were called to the Cathedral City Auto Center in the 68100 block of East Palm Canyon Drive and found the same man lying on the sidewalk, wearing only shorts, Haas said.

The man tried to run away when he saw the officers, but he was subdued and handcuffed when he attempted to resist.

“Shortly after handcuffing the subject, officers saw that the subject appeared to have labored breathing,” Haas said. “Officers attempted to assist the subject until paramedics arrived.

“Paramedics treated and transported the subject to Desert Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased,” Haas said.

The district attorney’s office is investigating the circumstances of the case

…..I just can’t believe that the FPD would not look into who made the alleged phone call. It would help their case a little if that person came forward and testified that he/she *saw* KT breaking into cars, right? Since the witness is not coming forward, then in my opinion either the phone call never happened, or the person who made the call is afraid of prosecution (for good reason).

    Good logic Dean.

    The plot thickens…

We’ve heard that the reason the Slide Bar made the fake call to the police was because they wanted to get rid of the homeless people who kept using their restrooms (and especially Kelly Thomas). Well, I just talked with someone on Facebook who has actually been in the Slide Bar. He asked a bartender if “street people” have been a major problem there. This is what he said…

“The bartender said he didn’t think so, and pointed out that very little of their patio actually is street-side. The place is always busy and boisterous. Timid “street people” are not going to risk a lot of hassle by walking through all of that to the middle of the establishment to use the non-locking, multiple-person restrooms there. (They’re not by the door, like in some places.) If in fact Slidebar is involved here, saying this is about homeless people in the restrooms is just an excuse.”

So my question is, if the Slide Bar didn’t make the fake call to the police because of Kelly Thomas hanging around and being a nuisance and using their restroom all the time…WHY did they make the call? It seems to me that they deliberately singled him out for another reason.

Jeremy Popoff should take note…with the internet, there is an amazing ability to uncover corruption and destroy careers literally overnight.

If you do a search for “Jay Cicinelli” on Google, his name instantly shows up as the infamous one-eyed Fullerton cop who beat Kelly Thomas to death.

Yet if you had done a search for his name a couple of months ago, probably NOTHING would have turned up…except maybe for a few old archived news articles about the shooting back in the late 1990′s.

    See how fast that happened.

Guess what is going to happen to the Slide Bar and Jeremy Popoff? Very soon, a Google search for his name isn’t going to show a former member of a band…it’s going to show someone who made a false call to the police to have a homeless person “eliminated” by rogue cops.

That’s how horrible his injuries were. At first, his own dad couldn’t even recognize him. Where the hell are you getting this story that he didn’t recognize him in a photo??

Oh, unless you mean the old booking picture that the FPD tried to claim was Kelly Thomas and people who actually knew him said wasn’t him. (The hair color wasn’t even the same).

And when are you going to get through your skull that there was very little Ron Thomas could to do help his son? Mentally ill people CANNOT legally be held against their will. They tried to help him, but if he refused to stay in a treatment center and was not a direct threat to himself or others, he couldn’t be kept against his will. They had to release him. He had been in and out of hospitals and treatment centers for years. His family helped him as much as they could, and he would go to their house now and then. But they couldn’t force him to stay.

And the knee-jerk cop lovers like you need to understand how serious this issue is. Those cops (especially Jay Cicinelli) are psychotic. And there might be others like them out there. They will snap with little or no provocation and then beat someone else to death. And it could happen to anyone. Even you.

And yes, I would like very much for the cop who ultimately killed Kelly Thomas to be put to death. Or at least life in prison with no possibility of parole. He is a danger to the public, the same danger as a serial killer. Heck, for all we know, Jay Cicinelli might even be a serial killer…maybe there are other incidents that we don’t even know about and were covered up by the FPD. At this point, I would not be surprised to find out that this monster had committed other murders and excused it with the catch-all phrase “resisting arrest.”

Or maybe the Slide Bar had another one of their cop buddies “eliminate” other witnesses. From what we’re seeing, the corruption in Fullerton is endless.

  316. #316 by jaynbond on August 22, 2011

Touch a nerve there Chris? You seem to be a little upset that someone would dare to say anyhting good about a cop.

Are you saying the slide bar people are also murderers? Do they need to be executed also? Well, heck… golly… let’s just get rid of everybody connected with this death by Excited Delirium. Not by murder.

Don’t be surprised if you see the Excited Delirium diagnosis somewhere in the final report. What then Chris?

  317. #317 by Chris on August 22, 2011

The fact that a rogue cop who could beat someone to death with little or no provocation? Do you mean did that touch a nerve? Yes, it certainly does and it should touch a nerve for anyone with half a brain.

    This could happen to anyone.

Also, Jay Cicinelli was hardly the “best qualified.” Even if it weren’t for this incident which revealed him as being psychotic. After he was shot back in the late 1990′s, even the LAPD didn’t want him anymore. He had only one functional eye and his lack of depth perception made him no longer physically qualified. My guess is that the LAPD also realized that he had psychological damage too. They realized he was a ticking time bomb and a huge liability (which they definitely didn’t want after the Rodney King incident and the Rampart scandal).

I just don’t get it…do knee-jerk cop supporters like you just switch off your common sense at some point? You can look at that picture of Kelly Thomas in the hospital (which made it hard for me to sleep) and still make absurd statements like “oh, we don’t have all the facts.”

Okay…so tell me, under WHAT scenario would horrific injuries like that actually be justified. Let’s try this the other way around. You imagine a scenario where crushing a man’s windpipe, breaking facial bones, and putting him in a coma would be justified? You can’t. Because there is no scenario. There is NOTHING which would justify it.

You’re either a troll, or at some point you just switched off the higher reasoning capabilities of your brain and no longer have common sense. Or you are so brainwashed into supporting cops (no matter what they do) that you will support a cop who has obviously committed murder.

  318. #318 by still love fullerton on August 22, 2011

jay?? all i see from you, is you trying to provoke slander out of ppl here.. your not worth a keystroke either..
hopefully everyone will stop bothering with you ..

  319. #319 by jaynbond on August 22, 2011

Where is the evidence that they “obviously Committed murder?” Yeah, I thought so!

And no, we don’t have all the facts and when they are released will you be here then?

And I bet you are not a doctor. The picture of KT in the hospital only shows blood from a bloody nose and nothing more, no contusions or laceration anywhere.

  320. #320 by Chris on August 22, 2011

Well, I’m certainly done with him/her.

I said earlier that we should all just ignore “Reality Is,” “Outraged,” “Allen” and “I love Cops.” They’re just trolls. And I strongly suspect that it might all be the same person (or maybe two people, at most) posting under multiple screen names.

Until they showed up, all the comments in the blog were useful, with people posting links to articles and new videos showing up on YouTube, etc. It was coherent, with good discussions and we were all working toward the same goal…uncovering corruption in the Fullerton Police Department and the Orange County DA, and getting justice for Kelly Thomas.

Then the trolls showed up recently, and they tried to create the illusion of “another side” that didn’t exist. That’s what trolls usually do. There is no other side to this one. The mutual feeling is outrage, and that these cops brutally MURDERED Kelly Thomas.

I admit I got suckered by jaynbond this time, but I’m done with the trolls. If we stop bothering to respond to them and ignore them, they’ll go away. Or at most, they’ll just look like a few idiots that post a random comment that doesn’t make any sense and no one is replying to.

I really wish Tony would moderate the blog comments a little more though.

Still… Why don’t you like people to have their own opinion? You have yours. Just because you don’t agree?

What was that about provoking slander? It is just My Opinion. I think Dad Thomas is trying to cash in on his son’s death. Twenty million! He wants to feed the homeless! What an abomination to his son’s memory.

I can’t help to reply to this last comment from the troll jaynbond though:

“…The picture of KT in the hospital only shows blood from a bloody nose and nothing more, no contusions or laceration anywhere.”

Good lord. Where to even start? I suppose the picture I saw of his eyes swollen shut, several huge gashes on his forehead, and swelling around the face and eye orbits was someone else who was named Kelly Thomas?

You know what, I hate you even more jaynbond. Not for being a troll, but for the fact that because of you I had to look up that picture and see it again. It gave me nightmares the first time I saw it, and it’s not much easier to see it this time either.

I’m done with you. Have a nice life, jaynbond. I hope that for your sake, you never get pulled over by a Fullerton police officer.

  326. #326 by Kim on August 22, 2011

  327. #327 by jaynbond on August 22, 2011

I have been pulled over by the fullerton cops and apologized to them for wasting their time, that was after I signed the ticket!

  328. #328 by jaynbond on August 22, 2011

Chris, the swelling is from a broken nose, that can clearly be seen. But that is only if you are a professional, trained to observe these types of injuries, this is not a putdown, I think laypersons don’t always know what to look for.

  329. #329 by Xer Cist on August 22, 2011

If not for the trolls you people would be lost in your own dream world. At least now you are opening your eyes just a little bit to what is actually going on, and what actually happened at the event. Then when the DA makes his decision you will already know some of the facts. You would be surprised who is on this site monitoring the opinions of Tony and the activists he brings to town. Knowing the names of people that hate the police from both in and out of town is very valuable information to have. I’ve already said the solution to the trolls, make a blog site that only allows Facebook log ins. That’s what newspapers and sites are doing and it works great. It limits the responses in a big way and would probably cut this site down by 80% or more, but it makes most people use their real sign ins because fake Facebook profiles are harder to make.

  330. #330 by Kim on August 22, 2011

I am so proud of you guys in Fullerton. Most times when something like the Kelly Thomas beating happens, it doesn’t get hardly any attention, and if it does, the attention doesn’t stay. I figured it would be like anything else, people would protest for a week or two and then go home and forget it. But you guys are still there protesting. You people are GREAT AMERICANS, keep it up! Don’t back down until Kelly gets justice.

  336. #336 by Jane on August 22, 2011

I found this online from “Big Wheel Magazine”

    August 5, 2011

    It starts:

“The overall energy this past Friday night in Fullerton was muted, which regrettably carried over into The Slidebar. (My guess is that Orange County locals are staying away from the city due to the recent death of Kelly Thomas at the hands of the Fullerton PD.) It’s unfortunate because there was a fabulous line-up that night: Continental Band, Steve Soto and The Tainted Hearts, with Jesse Malin and The St. Marks Social headlining.”

Aww! They lost a little business that night.

I think the author was saying that, in spite of what’s happening in Fullerton, we should go to the Slide Bar anyway because the rock and roll line up they has that night was much more important than Kelly Thomas.

  337. #337 by Jane on August 22, 2011

    That of course should read:

“the rock and roll line up they HAD that night was much more important than Kelly Thomas.”

Let me expand upon what I just wrote. I’ll admit that I didn’t like hearing “Kill killer cops,” this Saturday when I was at the protest. Anyone who advocates more violence over this should just go away.

Kim, the chant I heard was “Jail killer cops”, not “Kill killer cops”.

    Scared? Not at all..

Corrupt, I’ve been reading some of your posts and you fail to make any points that make sense, nor is there any point made from a factual basis.

You are following the crowed. When this is all said and done, relfect on your feelings. Perhaps you will realize that your judgement has been premature.

I know that there are a lot of FPD employees that want to come out with the truth. Fact is, they can’t come out with anything right now.

There is no conspiracy going on the City of Fullerton. This is an indepth ongoing investigation involving multiple jurisdictions, which is mainly in the hands of the FBI.. There is a tone of information and it CANNOT be released. Its not up to the City. Its never been up the City.

Its litteraly a double edged sword. Our Constitution protects everyone – even who you call “Murderer Cops”.. Their rights are protected to; Guilty or Not.

Think about focusing your efforts on the homeless. Since you want to be so involved, why don’t you host a food / clothing drive for the homeless in Fullerton or what ever city you live in. Focus your efforts on something positve.

When Bushala’s and Thompson’s movement is finished, and three Council Members are removed from Office, who will replace them? Three more corrupt ones?

  342. #343 by Chris on August 22, 2011

I’ve just been told some interesting information…

It seems that there was in fact a call made to the main number of the FPD, by a high level staff member of the Slide Bar. We can all infer who that was.

And the FBI is investigating. I’m sure more about this is going to follow very soon.

Actually, I doubt a thousand calls will make a difference, though I appreciate the effort. T-Rack is as corrupt as they come — and he has buddies at the FPD. It is going to take intervention from the feds before any serious investigation gets done. Thankfully, the FBI is on it. T-Rack’s own investigator had close ties with FPD. So typical. I cannot believe that crook is still our DA. Hopefully the feds turn up some dirt on his crooked ass while they are at it.

So far though, all I’m hearing is the other side. I covered the protest this weekend and talked to Capt. Hughes, which was great, but honestly, the silence for you guys is deadly. Chris, enjoyed reading your posts, found them to be informative and thought provoking, that is putting this blog to its best use. I noticed you got mired with a troll for a moment, it seemed to me that you were perhaps on to something thats why you were afforded “troll love” also “still loves Fullerton” who appeared to me, to still be new to this blog picked up a “troll bully”. This is what they do, post inflamitory comments, and bully people, in an attempt to supress or distract, I myself try to ignore them, to aknowledge them plays right into what they want, although I am not always successful, I try to ignore them. One of the contributers to this board, even seems to have his own “troll caddy” that follows him around from thread to thread, but he/she just swats them away easily enough. Anyway hope you dont let them keep you both from contributing to this board…

  368. #369 by Chris on August 22, 2011

nomad, thank you for your support. I think that is exactly what’s going on. The people who are onto something and post the most information inevitably get targeted by the trolls. And like I’ve said earlier, I’m pretty sure most of them are the SAME person posting under multiple screen names.

Ana had an interesting possibility that I hadn’t considered…

    Ana :
Chris # 316, maybe Kelly witnessed something. Hmmm

Maybe that was the REAL reason why Kelly was singled out? Maybe he had seen something earlier that he wasn’t supposed to? Since we have been told that the Slide Bar is a cop hang out, it is definitely possible that one of Jeremy Popoff’s cop buddies coached him into making the false call, to remove Kelly Thomas as a witness. It would have been a win-win for both Jeremy Popoff and his crooked cop buddies. He would get rid of a homeless person that annoyed him, and the cops would be able to remove a witness to something they had done wrong earlier. I don’t think those cops necessarily set out to kill him from the beginning in a pre-meditated way. They probably just wanted to arrest him, and maybe “kick his ass” (their words, according to many sources) a little to scare him off. But they certainly wanted to kill him once they had started beating him. Jay Cicinelli just couldn’t control himself. He’s a true psychopath.

You just might be onto something, Ana.

It’s reasonable to presume that a “timid”, schizophrenic man, would not hassle walking through a crowd of drinking revelers, loud music, lights, just to use the bathroom, most bars I have been to have “doormen” to prevent those kind of things anyway. Does the slidebar not employ doormen? Some places employ off duty pd for this purpose. I have seen “drifters” sift through ash cans outside of bars looking for “butts” to smoke and chased away by bartender or doormen. My friends brother is kinda a “drifter” and he engages in this activity, I asked him once, If he wasn’t worried about contracting some sort of communicable disease, smoking strangers ciggerettes, he said “no, that he unrolls them, and puts the tabacco into his own rolling papers” Don”t know if this is what Kelly was doing? but to walk through a busy bar just to take a leak?…nah. I think “Chris” was making the point that there are bathrooms within close proximity across the street, when s/he, was distracted by a troll.

  374. #375 by nomad on August 22, 2011

Are there any cameras in that part of town that might have captured Kelly’s movements or people that saw him so a timeline can be created for his whereabouts before the beating took place, its not like he blended, he must have been seen. All I have read is that he was seated on a bus bench when accosted by the fullerton6 and he had alledgedly been breking into cars, yea right, more likely looking for “butts” to smoke

  375. #376 by nomad on August 22, 2011

Establishing a timeline for Kellys movements before the beating may not have anything to do with anything, or perhaps it could trigger some piece of info. someone else might have, to fall into place, doesnt hurt to ask

  376. #377 by Chris on August 22, 2011

nomad, the most important camera was the one in the parking lot at the bus station, which of course the camera that recorded the entire beating and which the city and the Orange County DA are refusing to release.

(Even though the Fullerton cops were allowed to watch the video WHILE writing their reports).

There are several other cameras mounted throughout the city. Someone had posted a link to a page which listed the locations for all the cameras, but I don’t remember the address for the website. But it doesn’t matter – the city won’t release any videos from those cameras. Especially if any of them did happen to record Kelly Thomas before the beating. They’ll say it is part of the “investigation” (read: cover-up) and they won’t release the videos.

Our only chance at this point is if there are any private businesses who have their own security cameras and are willing to post their videos. Surely, there must be a least a few business owners in Fullerton with a sense morality? They can’t ALL be as bad as the Slide Bar.

I’m seriously planning on going to Fullerton very soon, to do my own investigation. Especially some snooping into the Slide Bar and their relationship with the FPD.

One of my friends is helping me to work on a system so that videos from a handheld video camera can be downloaded to a remote server in real time…just in case a corrupt cop decides to “confiscate” the camera. There will be another video recording saved on an off-site computer that we have. If we record any misconduct by police, it will be posted everywhere on the internet literally within minutes and there won’t be a damn thing the cops could do about it.

  377. #378 by nomad on August 22, 2011

Exactly, thats what I was hoping might be the case, perhaps some private footage from a local business that could confirm Kellys whereabouts, time, direction and compare to time of “so-called” call of reported breaking and entering into vehicles. Looks like that troll antagonized the wrong person! Goodluck with your endeavor, Be safe, and may God bless you for trying to help.

  378. #379 by nomad on August 22, 2011

    …and your friend as well!

  379. #380 by Ana on August 22, 2011

I just wondered why would they would “single Kelly out” as well. If he was a witness, he probably didn’t even realize what he witnessed because of his illness. He was probably one of the most docile homeless/drifters amongts all of them there. And that bar is a real Slimebar for being the match that lit the barrage of hate and blows upon Kelly.

I think it still incredible that anyone would question how Kelly died. Let someone bash your head, face and neck in and see how long you will live and as far as life support, that’s why they call it a life support because without it you wouldn’t be able to live.

  380. #381 by Ana on August 22, 2011

Any one of us could of been Kelly. And if you think that what happened to him could never happen to you, well my friend your are in deep denial. Any number of circumstances could put you squarely where Kelly was that night.

So when you support and protest for Kelly and his family, you’re not just doing it for him but you are also doing it for you, your family, friends, neighboors or a person that you have never meet. If you don’t weed out bad cops, your always going to be in fear of ever cop that you come across.

I can be fair for the five sites I write for and still have an opinion outside of that. I know all of you like to quash opinions on here, but sorry, mine won’t be quashed. And I didn’t put kill killer cops in the article.

No apparently this guy *cough cough* One of the owners of Slidebar *cough cough* thinks that Kelly did meth. See #129. I am pretty sure this guy has 1/4 of a brain because he is making himself blatantly obvious who he is and what he did. Who else in the right mind is going around talking about Kelly like that?

    Thanks Xer.

I hope every single person that had anything do do with the murder of Kelly Thomas is brought forward and pays.

That is what we’re all working for. Tell your family and all your friends about Kelly Thomas and the People of Fullerton, and about this blog. Thanks, Tracey.

I hope that the citizens who are outraged by this murder continue the fight for JUSTICE!

    I’m certain They will.

So murder is only murder if the victim was an “angel”???

Really??? If a person has any history of mental illness or crimes in their past, it’s okay for the police to beat them death??

    You’re quite a human being…

    nomad :
Exactly, thats what I was hoping might be the case, perhaps some private footage from a local business that could confirm Kellys whereabouts, time, direction and compare to time of “so-called” call of reported breaking and entering into vehicles. Looks like that troll antagonized the wrong person! Goodluck with your endeavor, Be safe, and may God bless you for trying to help.

A good police chief would have went to local businesses and asked for video immediately after finding out his men put a homeless man in a coma for stealing from cares

A good chief cares about the public before his employees when it comes to public safety vs rogue brutalizers

If Kelly Thomas has stolen one iota or, there was one shred of proof he broke into cars, the FPD would have come out with that a loooong time ago son. Come on now. Think of something better. Hint -hint.

I remember having lunch with some friends on Slidebar’s patio well over a year ago when Kelly Thomas was hounding customers for money and food. He was harmless, but, customers left due to the fact he was bothersome. I actually saw Jeremy give his left over container of food to Kelly and politely asked him to go. On several occasions I witnessed Jeremy taking care of the homeless who lingered around his establishment. He has a good heart and is a good man. Many Fullerton officers visit the Slidebar. When it was brought to their attention homeless people frequent the outskirts of the patio, they instructed the manager and all employees to “give us a call and let us know they are “breaking into cars,” we’ll show up and f*&k with them.” I guess that meant they would show up and beat them to death. So, the phone call made..who’s to blame? The person in the establishment instructed to do what they told him to do or the police who beat the man to death?

  403. #405 by Rocky on August 25, 2011

Really ??? he was mentally ill.. How do you know how is mind works? Maybe to him (mentally ill) breaking into cars was a normal thing. Checking for unlocked car doors maybe a daily activity to him. HOW DO YOU KNOW…

That’s right. All the previously linked reviews that mentioned Kelly Thomas have been removed.

They even removed this negative review though there’s no direct mention of Thomas. Damage control?

    “Don’t flag posts, coward.

If there were an option for no star, I would have opted for that. This place is more corrupt than the dirtiest joint in TJ. The only thing left is that the owner gives his first born to whomever he wants to “take care” of the next drifter hanging out near this waste hole. I’ve been in Fullerton my entire life. It’s places like this classy place here that attract the true filth. The bouncers are a bunch of agro meatheads, the staff are a bunch of rude trash balls and the owner, the oh so see through Jeremy Popoff is a low life. I’m embarrassed that this place exists in the city that I use to take so much pride in. It’s like a walking STD. Oh and btw, it’s not just a personal issue. The food SUCKS!!!! Drinks are crap. And the bartender was literally sweating into the drinks. My boyfriend and his cousin almost got into a bar fight defending someone being called homophobic slurs, and what did the beefed up bouncers do? Squat. This place is pretty much self-explanatory. It’s a piece of crap. So is the owner, I hope it goes away sooner than later. All right, I think that’s about it.”

See you at Fed trials very soon.

I have lived in OC most my life. Fullerton PD have always been know to be a bunch of John Waynes. Anyone involved with this assassination ,”because that is what it was”, needs to rot in prison in the general population. This is so disgusting I want to throw up. Has the system gotten so currupt?. These officers that have sworn to protect and server the people instead harrass and murder them. The sad thing is that this is not isolated to Fullerton. This is just but a symptom of bigger problems we are having. People we need get out from behind our curtains of denial and and admit our gevernment is broken and we as citizens need to repair it while we still have a country tht we can call “Land of the free and home of the Brave”.

  413. #415 by Steve on September 8, 2011

Oh yah I forgot. Rodney King wasn’t beaten close to this bad. It was made a huge deal. I wonder if it will be the same for a homeless white man.
