  1. Straight and to the point… Well DONE! keep the pressure on… The fight against tyranny will ALWAYS win, but from time to time the tree of liberty must be watered by the blood of patriots. (Thomas Jefferson).

    1. Its “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” The tyrants bleeding part is important!

  2. If our “do nothing DA” does nothing, or softens this up for his ‘bad boys’, could the FBI supersede the DA’s ruling?

    1. The DA may or may not bring state charges. The FBI will report to the US Atty’s Office with their findings to be used in a possible federal civil rights case. Totally independent of each other.

    2. no matter what their will be fed charges. see Danziger Bridge NOLA. Cicinelli and Hampton can be death penalty eligible.

  3. Our fine DA prosecutes CRIMINALS. All those scary guys with tattoos and shaved heads and weird beards. The ones who want to do you and your family harm. I am so proud of Mr. Rackauckas and the job he does protecting ALL of us from evil-doers and bad guys.

    1. “Back The Badge” has to be the corrupt DA’s wife. If not his wife then some freak who’s lifes ambition is to suck a fart out of the DA’s bunghole.

    2. That most people in prison are mammas boys, and we don’t need those types working in local Gov. either?

  4. Hey Back the Badge, are you Sissynelli, Hampton or one of those rogue cops that beat Kelly to death? Your Daddy Ruackauckas

  5. Hey Back the Badge, are you Sissynelli, Hampton or one of those rogue cops that beat Kelly to death? Your Daddy Rackauckas is an a-hole protecting abusive thugs with badges like yourself.

    1. The DA looks at the evidence. Not the pipe dreams of people on this blog. Use facts and you too will see what really happened.

  6. We need to protest at the Santa Ana Civic Center ,where the DA is located. This will need to be monday thru friday for maximum impact.we will need a few buses donated with graphics(a vehicle wrap)to circle the courthouses, state, and federal buildings.T-Rack will have to explain why we are disrupting every fucking face of the corrupt infrastructure. We really need you to call in your favor to John and Ken.When ,and how should we proceed? NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN AND WOMEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY!

    1. I meant FACET,that was a typo.If all available citizens can co-ordinate by showing up in cars, trucks, and buses, honking and yelling, and yes, LEGAL civil disobedience,we can truly effect meaningful change.Once again this is about MR.KELLY THOMAS,and about RIGHT AND WRONG. RIGHTING WRONG! THE TRUTH VERSUS TESTILYERS! AMERICAN VALUES VERSUS POLICE TRIBAL VALUES! And unfortunately,US VERSUS THEM! Thursday works for me.

      1. Be there Thurday 10:00 am. Bring an umbrella and some gatorade as it’s gonna be hot. What exactly do you mean by civil disobedience? Yelling? Honking? Parking without paying the meter? YOU REALLY KNOW HOW TO GET ‘ER DONE!

        1. You too. Because of your intrepid commenting on blog posts, masses of people are stopping to question the Kelly Thomas murder and backing you brave boys in blue.

Dumbass. You hurt your own cause every time you pinkie type out another brain-dead response.

  7. What strikes me is that after all this time and the countless times I have heard the cries of Kelly Thomas the same RAW emotion wells up in me each and EVERY tiime I hear him.
I think it is because the cries are so primal and from his desparate soul and as amother I reconiase panic, fear, and desparation from a child crying for his parent, his last hope in a momment like that.
His cries and his very soul transcended space and time at that monent and that is what we hear and what sends emotions I cannot decribe through me each and evry time I hear that horrible travesty.
I don’t know if anyone has considered this but maybe when marching those cries should be playing over a loud speaker over and over again until they are FINALLY heard.

      1. The tide turning, the dependance on tax payer money, the transition of the industrial age union from working class to post industrial public service sector, the voting power of the union working away? It’s your vote.

    1. The more protests the merrier, but what can they do about a DA that isn’t up for election until 2014? Knowing all too well about how most DAs operate, it seems really tough to get T-Rack to view the pressure from our side as more pressing than the pressure from the cops who he needs as both campaing contributors and as witnesses in his cases. And believe me, he will have a revolt on his hands that goes beyond Fullerton cops having sick-outs from the witness stand. It will be all cops-the SO and all the different locals.

Basically, with the establishment left supporting the anomaly of government unions and the establishment right on their misguided “law and order” defense of all things police, we are in a perfect political storm that wreaks havoc on civil liberties. I keep thinking IF ONLY T-Rack were up in 2012.

Still, any pressure is better than no pressure. And don’t let the pressure off of the MSM either. It was an outrage that the street protest on Saturday went unreported by the OCR. I know there were lots of Jr. High footbal games for them to report on, but still…

      1. Your group isn’t big and strong enough. It’s just a small group of backwards thinking activists that aren’t even from Fullerton. Keep trying. The DA and people are watching you and laughing. They run the show, not you. They use the facts and evidence, not the funny stuff you smoke that makes you have good dreams about what actually happened.

          1. All the wealth is piling on the Gov side, and that having a balanced mixed economy is a better solution?

      2. ex-pat-lawyer,
I honestly and respectfully don’t think that most people on this blog truly comprehend that the DA’s office here in Orange County has and always will be doing the bidding of billionaire George Argyros, who is T-Rack’s #1 political donor and head of the Republican establishment here in OC. I encourage you and other readers to read this link I’ve enclosed about who George Argyros is and the political favors that T-Rack and other DA’s have done for him over the years if you truly want to get to the root of corruption in Orange County. I have personal knowledge that the DA’s office has dismissed many more cases for George Argyros and his company Arnel Development over a 30 year period and that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Argyros

  8. Back the badge: the evil doers here wear suits and uniforms, what do ya do about that? Who are the good guys now? Im just saying my tattoo’d brother, with a weird beard, is a successful business owner never been in trouble with the law- takes serious offense to your comment- so who protects us from suit wearing uniform wearing bad guys? hmm? Who protects the weird bearded tattoos shaved head business owners? JUst your comment show you are part of the problem not the solution.

    1. Nice one Cit M. Back the Badge is the epitome of the racist Pigs with 2-digit IQs that permeating throughout our law enforcement agencies.

      1. Mr. Rackauckas represents The Law and this needs to be respected. Without The Law everything would be kaos. He’s the one who puts the criminals behind bars and who sweeps the streets clean of all the trash that wants to hurt your family and property.

        1. What are you babbling about Badge Boy? Maybe you are a relative of T-Rack, maybe your his wife. If so, tell him to do the right thing and start prosecuting his cops for their wrong doing. Our streets will be much safer if he did this on a regular basis.

          1. @22 … I thought the Constitution provided me with the rights and freedom I enjoy. Who knew it was only through the generosity and goodwill of my local D.A. (who could choose to deny me those rights, apparently)?

I should send him a Christmas card this year, don’t you think??

          2. Find the wrong doing with evidence and facts and show it. You are babbling out of your pie hole about dreams you have at night about boys in blue.

        2. Only if the criminals knew and donate to T. Rack’s campaign and then they could had got away with many things just like the crooked police unions.

        3. Remember that part of the Pledge of allegiance;
          Liberty and JUSTICE for ALL?
That is our foundation and that is what the DA and government should represent badge.

        4. Hahahahaha. That is so retarded it is funny. I especially enjoy the “DA lets you enjoy all the Freedoms you have” non sequiter. Oh yeah, because I wouldn’t be enjoying any of my freedoms (say, from unlawful search and seizure, civil rights violations, the freedom to be left alone, the due process of the law) unless our gangster DA “lets” me. And on top of that he is preventing kaos [sic], huh? More like obstructing justice, numbskull. Isn’t your Glorious Leader the same moron who borrowed a handgun from his security detail and then lost it? Oops. T-Rack is as crooked as they come. Of course anyone who would “Back the Badge” would be licking the boots of Mr. Corruption. Thanks for your meaningful input, troll

    2. That we are supposed to all look, act, and think the same, and this outdated mind set comes from the old culture of mass production and standardization

  9. I doubt that we will be seeing another post from Back the Badge. He’s all ‘butthurt’ from my Sissynelli comment.

  10. Who does OC DA answer to? Who is his boss? Who would investigate corruption or misconduct by county DA offices, State Attorney or Federal Dept of Justice?

  11. When is the “investigation” suppose to be completed? It’s been 49 days already. Hell, the toxicology reports for Amy Winehouse has been completed.

  12. I love the Kelly’s Army…….that is what this is all about. Justice!…for Kelly and all who have needed it and are stilk striving for it. The people of Fullerton keep fighting for the truth and help stop the lies and corruption. Send a message to all!!!!!!

  13. Lack of Respect for The Law will undermine our society as the drug addicts and gang-bangers reek havoc on the law abiding citizens. Our fine DA knows this and has always worked hard to make sure the right kind of people get convicted.

    1. OK, I think I understand you now. You are in favor of upholding the law, provided that only the “right people” are prosecuted (i.e. — those with shaved heads, “funny” beards, dark skin, etc.).

However, if the criminals look like you, talk like you, and buy donuts at the same shop as you, then turning a blind eye is probably the best option, right??

      1. Evidence shows? If it shows it, then prosecute it. If the DA did what you guys told him, he would be making up all kinds of shit. You don’t run the show. He does.

    2. The problem is your law and your fine DA does not listen to the good citizens of their community when it comes to police wrong-doing. This is not about drug addicts and your perceived ‘gang-bangers’. Your are a prejudice PIG and assume everyone with a shaved head, tattoos and weird beards are bad guys.

    3. I have a very close and personal friend who is a Detective with LA County Deputy Sheriffs. I stopped “Backing the Badge” when he stated on a ridealong years ago “I’m the law, what I say goes”, “Who you going to belive, him or me”.

      1. Our legal system is a souless, hollow medium and everyone that works in it, talks about it. Even Offices suffer from its dark empty existence.

Some balance their time attending church, some with the bottle.

    4. you know what, Respect is fine, but Fear is another story.
      “fine DA”? serious?
hes done nothing for any citizen in 15 years and always takes the side of the coppers no matter what.
I read a few articles about bad cops in different american cities, but its always the same rationale they are taught to be dirty and lie since the academy to make it look like they are “active” and that the me against them will always be backed up on the side of the police/gestapo

The DA knows this but since part of the pressure comes from his office for the gestapo to look active, direct supervisors just want the DA pressure off them so they contstantly push their coppers to write up people and that theyd better lood active today and the animals themselves have no self control so they do whatever they want.
thats why people get jailed for nothing then released an hour later without charges-enables the animals to write up a report and they get credit for that one report

        1. Oh no. I told someone to show proof with facts and then immediately made a statement as if it were fact without showing proof.

Guess I’d better hurry back to the locker room and finger my Ex-Lax induced butthole…uhhh, I mean think.

    5. Right now most of us here are more concerned about a criminal lack of respect BY the law.

Your posts virtually drip of the usual us vs. them cop mentality. It’s the main problem law enforcement faces, this idea that cops are always the good guys fighting the bad guys, and that the ends justifies the means. “The right kind of people…” Jeeezus, what an asshole.

    6. Badge,
Go take a ethics class or better yet go sit in church.
The Law is not the law giver, that is God. We as a society agree on a moral code and compass and form laws based on that innate ability to know right from wrong. Society holds us accountable for that knowledge through enforcement of the penal code.
Those that enforce the agreed upon code are not above it, just the opposite, since they know it better than most they should be held to a even higher standard.
Stop lowering the bar in your weakness. You are the one who is lost here because your moral code is based on a power trip and not a strong foundation of righteousness that holds everyone to the same standard.

  14. Go to the O.C. DA’s website, click on ‘contact information’, then click ‘feedback form’, then tell T-Rack to get his head out of his ass and prosecute his killer cops or else he will be sending out another message that our men and women in badges have a license to kill.

  15. Very compelling video. Good Job.
I can not beleive that in 15 years Rackauckas has not convicted a single police officer for excessive force. Looks like the tail is wagging the dog…

  16. I never had any faith in the DA from day one of this case! If he’s in the back pocket of the union, there is no way he is going to look at this case objectively! The FBI investigation probably has the best chance of uncovering any criminal action on the part of the “Fullerton Taliban!”

    1. There was a man beaten to death by officers in Santa Margarita, Heard He had a pregnant wife and kids.

  17. I repeat my suggestion… protest in front of the DA’s office on a weekday when he is there!! Standing on a street corner and screaming at passing cars seems to be an exercise in futility. Apply pressure where it will have maximum impact!!

  18. Money…money….money. $$$$$$$….That is there motivation. Don’t give a rats ass who suffers….just as long as they remain in “power”….f-n scumbags! And there ego! The proof is all there in the video’s and witnesses…How much more time do they need to get their ‘story together’…..demand answers now!!!

  19. The problem in this sight is that it has no respect for the Law Enforcement men and women who saddle up everyday to do combat with the rapists and thieves and terrorists who would do YOU and YOUR family harm.

Our excellent DA knows who the real criminals are and he fills up Theo Lacy Jail with them. Without our DA you would be afraid to go out at night!

    1. that is a joke. Any DA could fill the jails. How many OC police officers ever served time in any of the Orange County Jails? Hopefully 6 will be serving time real soon.
The problem we have is little to no recourse for Police Officers breaking the laws. People on this site do NOT beleive all officers are bad! However, when good officers cover up for the bad ones that is what taints the Police Department. Only takes a few bad apples to spoil the whole barrel….

      1. Wrong. People on this site think all cops are bad and any use of force is bad. Any use of force caught on video should be prosecuted with death, that’s their motto. That’s where the problem is. Cops will kill people until we all die. That’s part of their jobs. Use facts when analyzing cases, not pipe dreams.

        1. The problem is that when the cops don’t own up to making mistakes, the Department actively engages in a cover up and crooked officials (ahem, T-Rack) don’t take appropriate action in response, the cops no longer get the benefit of the doubt like they used to. Code Blue is actually doing cops a disservice. If they owned up to it, or were at least a little more transparent and forthcoming about what happened (this incident happened 49 days ago — still no tox report, still no official cause of death, still no release of video that supporters of the FPD claim will exonerate their fearless heros), perhaps people wouldn’t be so quick to assume the worst. Instead, you have apologists like yourself giving off the same arrogant we-do-as-we-please-because-we-have-the-guns attitude that makes the rest of the general public bristle at what appears to be a very questionable use of force. If it was proper, then they need to come clean, show the video and justify the actions of the police. Through obfuscation (Chief conveniently takes a medical leave rather than addressing the shitstorm) and outright lying (remember the reports of 2 cops suffering broken bones?), the people on this site and in the general public no longer trust what the cops and politicians are saying.

      2. It is illegal for able bodied citizens to saddle up everyday to do combat with the rapists and thieves and terrorists.

Our excellent DA knows who the real criminals are won’t put them up in Theo Lacy Jail.

With our DA we are afraid to go out at night!

    2. OK, so if you look “different” and fit the stereotypical image of a criminal, then you’re a “real criminal.” Is that it??

But if you are wearing a uniform with a badge, you aren’t a real criminal (or perhaps if you beat someone to death, it isn’t a real crime), I think you’re saying. So was Kelly Thomas a real person or not? Was a real crime committed??? (I’m sorry, I don’t think your addled brain can handle all this. Go back to your Western movies — white hat, GOOD guy, black hat, BAD guy)… Jeez!!

    3. By the way, I think you meant “site.” That “sight” that you used refers to vision, of which yours is extremely skewed and on the simplistic level of a 6-year-old…

    4. “Our excellent DA knows who the real criminals are and he fills up Theo Lacy Jail with them.

No he doesn’t. The OC jails are filled with drug addicts, mostly young kids that need to see a doctor more than they need to go before a judge. If one has the bad luck to spend a day or two there, it quickly becomes apparent that it’s really all about moving bodies through the system. The druggies get arrested, they do a little time, they are let out, they violate their parole by getting loaded again, then they get sent back for awhile where they see their friends (it’s like summer camp for these guys) and clean out. Then the cycle starts over. Meanwhile, the cops and the jailers, the probation officers and the Deputy DA’s all work toward a generous pension for protecting us from a bunch of otherwise harmless junky kids, that no one really has any interest in helping get well for good, why? because that would break the cycle, err, gravy train. It’s all very sad.

    5. LMAO. The crap Back the Badge says reminds me of the drivel that is always being spewed forth by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Sort of has that creepy officious and snide tone, too. “The Great Leader is never wrong. The Great Leader is infallible. We are not living in squalor or starving to death — the DPRK is well on its way to conquering the world. Dissent is inherently evil. Naysayers and extremists who do not respect the Supremacy of our Fearless Leader will be put to death.” Keep toeing the party line, pal. You would do well in a fascist society.

    6. What is with the constant “saddle up” jive?

      “Combatting” rapists, thieves and terrorists?

      Combatting?

      If only.

Rape? Ask those Fullerton back seat victims.

Thieves? Ask that Florida citizen whose I-Pad was stolen.

Terrorists? Ask Kelly, and uncounted other Fullerton citizens — who are now coming out about their experiences with FPD, by the way.

“Saddle up?” Please. Stop saying that.

You and your ilk may fancy yourself John Wayne — and you probably do — but donning your body armor, badge, sidearm, pepper spray, taser, nightstick, bro-calling radio and all your other trinkets of false power makes you appear more of a frightened, vindictive schoolyard bully, rather than some kind of self-proclaimed protector of the public.

The cat’s out of the bag. We know what you are and what you do.

      Saddle that, tough guy.

      .

  20. The thought occurs to me that cops who brutally beat a defenseless homeless man to death would be tantamount to a child molester raping and killing a 12 year old girl. Those cops would have a really HARD time in a Federal prison!! I support my local FBI office!!!

    1. I’ll bet you annual incomes and your pension ‘Back the Badge’ that at least 30% of those locked up in Theo Lacy are wrongly convicted by lying cops and their superiors helping them ‘cook up’ their reports with trumped up charges. I experienced this myself in 1998 due to a wimp deputy with L.A. County Sheriff who had a hard on for my then ‘soon-to-be ex-wife’.

      1. Do tell about your mishap with “the man.” Your name says it all, wrong guy. You sound like Sly Stone when he got arrested decades ago. “I am not me, I am my brother.” Nice try, convict.

  21. #38 – that may be true, but when a cop hides behind the honor of a badge to commit murder, he has crossed the line and violated the public’s trust!!

    1. Let’s not forget that in the Rodney King case, the state prosecution failed and the Fed’s had to come in and take care of business. And, don’t forget, Rodeny King was not murdered!!

        1. I’ll put my faith into our next soon to be elected D.A.

Mr. Rackauckas shall be voted out for this unfortunate chain of events. The next one to run against him has all the cards in their favor.

    2. When you say put your full faith, does that mean your faith is in your Daddy Rackauchas to get these officers acquitted?

  22. It would break my heart to see this happen to dog, to do this to a human being is unimaginable. How can this be defended?

        1. Society may evolve to protect itself from this happening again, but then again, the bitch is in heat again.

  23. What does it take for the law abiding public to get the reality. The system is corrupt. These animals will walk. These bums are on an extended vacation, full benefits and accruing pension credits. When they return to duty, they will quickly take disability pensions and move into high paying jobs in the private sector.

  24. we need to bombard DA M-F with peaceful protests and also with sane and rational online comments(and email, phone) to the BOS. We missed the last Friday cut off for online comments to be discussed at the BOS meeting today, lets load it up now.

    http://www.ocsd.org/ocgov/Government/Board%20of%20Supervisors/Opinion%20Online

    here is OCBOS contact info:

    http://www.ocsd.org/ocgov/Government/Board%20of%20Supervisors/Your%20Board%20of%20Supervisors

IMO, calling the DAs office i futile, Tony Rack is as currupt as FPD and they are in bed together. Going to the BOS with verbal and email complaints might be better served while continuing to protest the DA office publicly.

Lets keep up the pressure people, it can be done!

    1. The good ol’ boy Shawn Nelson is on that board. Where has he been through all this? Hiding in the rafters, that’s where.

      1. Coming from the likes of you, Arnold, I take that as a thinly veiled threat. Thing is, the cowboy days are over. The people have had enough. Maybe some of the cops walk and the politicians continue being clueless, greedy, backroom crooks. But the FPD isn’t going to be running roughshod over people with the same carte blanche they were afforded in the past. People from Fullerton and the rest of the Country are waking up to the problems of giving police unchecked power. Bootlickers like you and Back the Badge epitomize the sneering arrogance that the rest of the public has grown so tired of. Cops used to be given the benefit of the doubt because they used to be honorable men who did a difficult job. But it is the very attitude of people like you and the bad cops in this situation in particular which is changing that perception. Unfortunately, the silence of the “good cops” and the officials who might otherwise do the proper thing is now allowing them to be tainted with the stench of the dishonorable actions of a few. You can continue with your blind adherence to the Boys in Blue. The rest of the country is no longer ingorant to the reality.

  25. You know, all this could be solved if they just show the Kelly Thomas video. I don’t understand if the officers were allowed to view it, then why not the public? Because DA Tony Ridiculous is going to hold out until it turns quiet, then say no charges, and then maybe show the video. There needs to a protest at his office at 401 Civic Center Dr. Santa Ana. It’s in the same complex of the O.C Sheriff’s Headquarters.

      1. Hey doubting Arnold, Kelly’s Army is not going away! The FBI is doing good things towards bringing justice to this Kelly Thomas beating death. These powerful bosses you talk about will not out wait the protesters and these free-wheeling cops will have a nice stay in Club Fed.

    1. his father has filed a civil suit and should be in possession of a copy when requested. if they dont give it up more fed charges.

    2. Because Mr Thomas and his attorney would have paid off 100 transients to say they saw what was on the video. Best thing they ever did was get that video into evidence quickly. Now we have actual witnesses that didn’t see much of what actually happened.

  26. Filling out the feedback form on the O C gov website for the DA is a great idea. It indicates they will get back with us with an answer. Simple and will probably not go unnoticed. It also gives us an opportunity to give our names and specific concerns. There’s something about giving your real name and contact information, isn’t there?

    1. Yes. Don’t be afraid to give your name and let DA Ass know your concerned about him not prosecuting any of his cop buddies ever. I mentioned in my comments that ” if you go light on these cops, you will once again send another message that your men and women with the badge, have a right to kill.” If hundreds of people per day do this, it will get to his head.

  27. There is talk about doing a protest rally at the DAs office, during the week while T-Rack is there, but we need to wait for the leader of Kelly’s Army, Ron Thomas to give the go-ahead.

  28. Good video, not true but good video. Truth is not really the strength of FFFF inflammatory false statements are. Even Ron Thomas’s lawyer refers to the cops involved as non-criminals. Just cut the check and move on.

Thompson how’s that job hunting coming along?

    1. “Even Ron Thomas’s lawyer refers to the cops involved as non-criminals.”

      Really?

Ron Thomas’ lawyer on the police reports in the Veth Mam incident:
“You don’t see a single word about what he did to Mam,” Mardirossian said. “You don’t see him slapping the camera out of his hand. You don’t see him throwing Mr. Mam to the ground, beating him in the back. You don’t see him arresting him. None of that. It’s all buried. The reports were lies.”

Sounds to me like he’s accusing Kenton Hampton of pretty serious crimes, civil rights violations, conspiracy and cover-up.

    1. After reading the cluster fuck of an article, says it ended in mistrail.
Did T-Rack refile charges against deputy Hibbs for using his taser on a handcuffed gangbanger in the back seat of his cruiser?
Article insinuates that all officers stuck to the code of silence and an acquittal was imminent, except for trainee Wicks, who made conflicting statements (whoops, he accidentally told the truth in grand jury, rookie mistake).
whole smells fishy, and Im not with your wife.

  29. I will bet you a year’s salary (Chris Thompson’s) no cops will be convicted as a result of this mishap. (chain smoker Mr. Thomas, heart stopped after wrestling match). Lesson learned: don’t smoke, get plenty of rest and don’t wrestle with cops.Fo
    ig tobacco!

    1. @Thompson for Mayor,

Thompson for Mayor’s Lesson Learned: “Don’t smoke”

REALITY BASED LESSON #1 LEARNED: LE ALWAYS BLAMES THE VICTIM

Don’t ever be unfortunate enough to have a brain disease such as paranoid schizophrenia-Law Enforcement do not pay attention in their NAMI classes and do not understand mental health issues.

      INFORMATION RE: SMOKING AND SCHIZOPHRENIA

Most sufferers of paranoid schizophrenia smoke because it helps to alleviate anxiety and it also helps improve cognitive functioning.

“The high use of nicotine in patients with schizophrenia has also been attributed to nicotine lessening the side effects of some antipsychotic medications. One article noted that “there have been indications that nicotine can reverse the memory problems and slowness of thought induced by a commonly used medicine, haloperidol” (Watts, 2003). There has been some evidence that this is the case, but it seems that the major reason for nicotine use in those with schizophrenia is due to the benefits it can have relating to the disease specifically. One of the reasons that nicotine is thought to have the effect that it does is that it mimics the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. The nicotine does this by attaching to receptors (receptors are specific areas on the surfaces of cells that “act as molecular switches”), and therefore increases the activity of acetylcholine receptors. This gives one the feelings that they have after they have smoked a cigarette or had any other form of nicotine.”

Patients with schizophrenia smoke at 3x the rate of the general population.

Some studies show prevalence rates as high as 90%

Looking at the specific research, one study done by Yale University “found that when study subjects with schizophrenia stopped smoking, attention and short-term memory were more impaired, but, when they started smoking again, their cognitive function improved. No effects from stopping or resuming smoking were observed in smokers without mental illness” (Yale University, 2005). Another report from Columbia University further supports the idea the smoking (or, specifically, nicotine) helps in concentration.

Thompson for Mayor’s Lesson Learned: “don’t wrestle with cops”

REALITY BASED LESSON #2 LEARNED: LE ALWAYS, ALWAYS BLAMES THE VICTIM- EVEN, AND/OR ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PERSON IS DISABLED WITH A BRAIN DISEASE

Even if an officer intentionally provokes you- a paranoid mentally ill man, into running for your life, by making the threat that, “These are the hands that are going to beat your ASS,” don’t try to defend your own life against abuse, assault, torture, and ultimately murder, by those committing these crimes against you under color of authority.
Don’t writhe in uncontrollable pain and agony, for heaven’s sake-don’t scream that you are sorry for running in fear or for writhing in pain, or for screaming uncontrollably in pain and fear, don’t scream for help, don’t scream for God or your dad to help you after you skull has been bashed into the concrete curb. Don’t try to defend your life against officers who are using excessive force and torture by repeatedly kicking you and Tasing you after you are already face down on the cement and hog tied.

And, when you are FINALLY unconscious and motionless, and you are still being Tased and bludgeoned with the butt end of a Taser until you are brain dead, and the brutal, vicious bludgeoning causes your blood to spray all over the hands and arms of the accomplices who are aiding and abetting, and you are finally taken to the hospital in a coma from which recovery is not possible- don’t even think for one moment that the D.A., mayor, council members, or other officers working under the code of silence will see to it that justice will be done on your behalf.

MORE REALITY BASED LIFE LESSONS AFTER KELLY THOMAS’ DEATH:
Witnesses and citizens who are horrified and outraged by this vicious torture and willful murder of a vulnerable disabled man WILL cause a mighty outcry for justice.

It will be very difficult to find men of true integrity in office who will not betray the public trust; this is due to the conflict of interest caused by powerful union money, influence and cronyism.

It will be very difficult to have charges brought against, or to get convictions against the guilty for their willful and malicious crimes against a vulnerable human being, no matter how overwhelming and compelling the evidence might be. The evidence will most likely be altered, or not released at all- by those who have “too much to lose”, or who think that by not releasing the evidence that citizens will eventually go back to sleep, or forget Kelly Thomas entirely.

No matter what the criminal charges, or the lack of criminal charges-Kelly Thomas WILL be remembered in death.

Kelly Thomas’ screams for mercy and help, even though now silenced in life, WILL continue to be heard around the world, and WILL reverberate LOUDLY in the consciences and memories of all men and women who seek justice.

Kelly’s willful murder by those hiding behind badges of authority WILL inspire citizens to be even more vigilant in protecting their constitutional rights from abuse- by tyrants, both foreign and domestic.

No man is above the law, no matter what the uniform or badge he wears.

Until good officers PUBLICALLY REVILE AND RENOUNCE and REMOVE and CHARGE and PROSECUTE the evil within their ranks, ALL officers will be suspected of having the same evil mentality that would harm a disabled man who is begging for his life.

Kelly suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. Like others who suffer from this same disease, he was more than likely very paranoid, confused and suffering from disorganized thinking and cognitive deficits- including short term memory loss. He very likely had problems interpreting peoples’ motives, conversations, facial cues, body language and events correctly.
Despite suffering from this debilitating, disorienting, confusing and truly frightening brain disease and despite living with discrimination, misunderstanding and hatred constantly being directed towards him and despite trying to survive on the streets without security, food or shelter-Kelly didn’t give up.

Kelly Thomas lived his life as bravely as he could, while battling his inner demons, despite everything going against him. He didn’t commit suicide as do 10 percent of people who suffer from schizophrenia. No, Kelly begged for his life, up until the very last moment- when oxygen deprivation to the brain, (likely caused by blunt trauma to his head and neck from bludgeoning and knee drops to his nose, head and neck, and likely also by the holds that were used on him by officers), caused him to lose consciousness. BUT FOR the merciless, deadly beating inflicted by the officers, (despite Kelly’s screams for mercy), Kelly would still be alive today.

By his death at the hands of law enforcement officers, Kelly Thomas is an unwilling hero who has finally brought a bright light to shine on the atrocities and brutalities that have been committed by evil men under the color of authority, not only in Fullerton, but in every state across our great nation.

Kelly Thomas’ name IS a rallying cry for due process, transparency, truth, mercy, justice, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness FOR ALL.

Cries for justice WILL be heard.

        1. Bullshit! He was tased and kicked while hogtied and face down on the sidewalk? Willful murder? Very well thought out and insightful?? Wow. Sounds like an overly emotional ninny that read up on the mentally challenged and then tries to impress this sympathetic crowd with novel full of nonsense. She’s right on one thing. Kelly did not give up. He kept fighting for over 7 minutes and could have stopped at any time he wanted. I know, he wasn’t of right mind, however, does that mean that the cops just walk away from him? And that’s assuming they knew he wasn’t of right mind. Smoking and Schizophrenia? BFD. I suppose you’d like the state to furnish them with cigarettes? Maybe if everyone that’s whining on this site pressed the legislature for massively increased funding for the mentally ill, we wouldn’t be where we are right now. But I bet that 99% of the bloggers here don’t do a damn thing for the homeless they drive or walk by everyday. Hypocrites.

          1. …sounds like someone needs a hug? It’s apparent to the rest most that it’s physiologically impossible for the brain to fully engage when your heart is feeding it so much hate.

          2. @Free Spirit, My Ass,
Kelly Thomas was terrorized with threats of physical battery by officers who had approached him as he sat on a bench. Un-armed, malnourished, mentally ill, paranoid, Kelly Thomas- tried to run away- in order to get out of harm’s way and to preserve his very life after being verbally assaulted.

Kelly did not initiate any attack on the officers; rather, Kelly ran away in self-defense. The officers had not seen Kelly committing any crime and again, the officers were NOT acting in self-defense.

Lethal force and murder was excessive and in no way justifiable in this case. Kelly was attacked with impunity by the officers who used excessive deadly force against him, and Kelly, an unarmed man, only struggled, in vain, to preserve his life.

Six, large, fully armed officers, trained in self-defense, with weapons and non-lethal aids at their disposal, were not ever in fear for their lives. In fact, at least one of the officers enjoyed beating on Kelly so much, that he bragged about it later in the FPD locker room.

The sadistic, arrogant, officers provoked this fight with Kelly Thomas. The officers could have stopped murdering Kelly at any time. The officers refused to have mercy on Kelly, and the officers continued to bludgeon and Taser him, EVEN AS KELLY APOLOGIZED AND BEGGED FOR HIS LIFE AND CRIED OUT TO GOD AND HIS DAD FOR HELP AND MERCY.

And, yes, I do expect the officers to know when to “walk away” and when to use restraint and common sense and to know not to let their oversized egos act as the judge, jury and executioner.

Officers should have had enough training and self-control that they could have STOPPED beating an unarmed man to death. Surely, at the very least they could have stopped beating Kelly after he became unconscious!!!

They BEAT KELLY TO DEATH because he tried to run AWAY from them, AFTER he was threatened by them with violence and bodily harm!

They should know NOT to provoke a fight in the first place (especially with someone who is mentally ill), and they should know that it is possible to hold an unarmed person down, (without causing great bodily harm) until the suspect tires out and then handcuff them, especially when there are so many large officers all gathered around. Maybe you should talk to orderlies at a psychiatric hospital; they do that ALL THE TIME, without so much as harming a hair on their patients. They are trained to restrain their patients, while at the same time protecting them from bodily harm! Gee, what a novel concept. But, no, you macho officers have “to show them who’s wearing the badge.”

Non-lethal restraint and transportation to a hospital for a psych evaluation shouldn’t have been any problem at all for these supposedly well trained officers. I would have expected that officers would not let their egos be the cause of a mentally ill man’s death.

And, I know that NAMI training teaches officers how to De-escalate situations with the mentally ill. Instead, the officers INTENTIONALLY provoked Kelly Thomas into running for his life.

The officers treated Kelly Thomas much less humanely and with much less compassion than they would have treated a wild bear, or a tiger, or a lion that had escaped from a zoo. It would have been far more humane to just shoot Kelly in the head rather than to continually bludgeon, kick, knee drop and Taser him to death as he begged for mercy.

The officers knew EXACTLY who Kelly Thomas was. They knew he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. FPD officers had many contacts with Kelly in the past, and there are reports that they had spoken with him just a couple of days prior to his beating death.

And, by the way, stop trying to blame other people for the officers’ beat down murder of Kelly Thomas. What other people do, or don’t do, for the mentally ill, does not give you, or anyone else, the right to murder someone. Perhaps you have heard the following saying, “Two Wrongs Don’t Make a Right.” Please, stop being as childish as to blame others for your own wrongdoing.

Now, consider a parent and a child.

A parent does NOT murder their child just to teach him a lesson every time they feel they are being disobeyed. Even though the parent has more authority, and is stronger- a parent does not have the right to murder their child-even if the child were to try to run away in fear.

And, now imagine if that child had a brain disorder, and could not fully comprehend the consequences of his decisions. And, now imagine that the parent had just threatened the child with violence and great physical harm.

Parents are entrusted with protecting the well-being and the best interests of their children.
If a parent threatened a defenseless, mentally ill child (or any child) with a vicious assault, then terrorized, beat and murdered their child, they would immediately find themselves in jail, awaiting trial and sentencing.

Officers of the law are entrusted with serving and protecting the public.

When officers misuse their authority and abuse, torture and murder an unarmed, helpless, mentally ill person, those officers also lose all trust by those they have sworn to serve. Officers should not be held to a lesser standard than parents, but rather to a HIGHER standard, since officers wear badges and are given great authority. Also, they know the laws and they are “trained professionals.”

“Thompson for Mayor” above stated: ” Lesson learned: don’t smoke, get plenty of rest and don’t wrestle with cops.Fo”

This statement is an effort to blame Kelly for his own death because of the fact that he smoked.

I do not recall asking the state, nor anyone else, to provide Kelly with cigarettes.

However, I do ask that people recognize that the smoking addiction Kelly suffered from was directly related to his illness of schizophrenia. Kelly and other people suffering from mental illness are often misunderstood and they are criticized for bumming cigarettes, or spending their money on cigarettes, or for constantly looking for cigarettes on the ground, etc. People don’t realize that their nicotine addiction is much, much, much stronger than the average smoker, and it is for a biological reason due to their brain disorder- that they cannot control. Please re-read the info on cigarettes and schizophrenia in my post above, or Google it yourself: Harvard Research Studies and Schizophrenia, etc.

I resent anyone, and especially a “professional,” who should know better, who tries to marginalize Kelly and who tries to make it seem that Kelly’s death is his own fault because he smoked. Kelly should not be criticized, demonized, marginalized, nor judged because he had a nicotine addiction.

The cigarettes were actually like a medication to Kelly Thomas. The cigarettes helped Kelly’s brain to function better.

If you are calling me a hypocrite, you are wrong.
If you don’t like my opinions, that’s fine. But I am entitled to my opinion. I have a 28 year old son who has suffered from schizophrenia for the past 11 years. I believe I am well qualified to give my opinion; and I am certainly at least as well qualified as you are.

You can call me an “emotional ninny” if you want to, that’s ok. I think I have a right to get a little bit emotional when someone is murdered. Sentient human beings usually do react when they hear someone screaming for mercy, who is also simultaneously being beaten to death.

You don’t like my “novel full of nonsense”? That’s fine. Ok, prove me wrong and release the videos that will prove the officers’ innocence. I’m waiting. Until then, I will keep providing you with my opinion, and you will undoubtedly keep providing me with yours.

  30. Chris Thompson

” The OC DA has never prosecuted a cop except for the cases I did not care to mention”.

      1. He says his office has never prosecuted a shooting death at the hands of law enforcement. He doesn’t say he’s never prosecuted a cop.

        1. I didn’t say he’s never prosecuted a cop. I said he has never prosecuted a cop for physical abuse out on the street or a bad shooting.

          1. Well, sorry Chris, you got that wrong.

And I’m still seeing this incorrect statement on the top of this page in the still from your video.

I realize this probably isn’t your field, but if you are going to dabble you should at least understand this: The first rule of journalism, particularly internet journalism, is to admit your mistake, apologize for the error, correct it, then move on.

The people on your side won’t care, and those that hold it against you, well, you probably wern’t gonna win them over anyway. Interestingly, the readers/viewers you most want to educate, those on the fence, are quite likely to admire you for handling your simple, human mistake with honesty and humility.

After all, such prosecutions are almost as rare as teeth on a hen, but every once in a great while the stars must align just right and an exception to the rule, for one reason or another, is made. The truth is the DA doesn’t like to prosecute cops for excessive force because they are dogs of cases. You aren’t likely to win if the cops are allowed to get up on the stand and either lie or develop a sudden case of amnesia, and that’s exactly what happens every time, including in the trial story linked to earlier refuting your statement.

            http://www.ocweekly.com/2009-04-16/news/moxley-confidential/

          2. “In 15 years Rakaukas has never prosecuted a cop for use of excessive force.”

“I said he has never prosecuted a cop for physical abuse out on the street..”

These two false statements are still allowed to stand without correction? Really?

Come on Chris, you can’t on one hand fault cops like Goodrich for playing fast and lose with the facts, while you yourself won’t admit this clear and obvious mistake and correct your error. Credibility is King.

  31. An unholy Triumvirate seems to exist between Orange county DA, police and coroner. We see how it works.

If you video or otherwise show “contempt of cop”, expect the following:
A violent arrest, cooked up police reports about assaulting officers, officers stop by clinic to treat mild abrasions, DA prosecutes you.
If you happen to die, police release heinous reports and or mug shots with tats and funny beard, public turns blind eye, DA investigates facts supporting police reports ignoring glaringly obvious evidence (“there are things you can see and things you cannot see”), if the public still has an interest, the DA promises “truth report” soon.
Months later, coroner deems cause of death from natural causes, bad heart or drug overdose. A Year later, Register publishes buried article exonerating police.
Here is just one example of many:
    http://www.highdesert.com/news/gallegos-292748-ocregister-officers-burdette.html

There is something about the Kelly Thomas case that is far too compelling for this to happen again.

For our justice system to work, the DA and coroner need to be scrupulously honest. The public would elect men and women of integrity, but honest candidates have to compete with special interest money.

  32. “The more you hung out with other cops, the more inbred you became, believing that anyone who is not a cop was a son-of-a-bitch.”

—The late Daryl Gates, former LAPD Chief of Police, in his autobiography

      1. He was a total disgrace. Just like you and the rest of the FP goon squad. Enjoy what little time is left of your pathetic, dishonorable career of sadistically hurting the weakest members of society. Your afterlife will
        not be pretty.

          1. I love how you don’t even contest the “sadistically hurting the weakest” part. You know that is what you do, but you pretend that is a public service.

      2. Gates was a controversial chief to be sure, and I never really liked him much in those days, but in his later years, as a talk show host and frequent guest on KFI, he proved to be capable of some often startling truth-telling, as he did also in his autobiography.

I came to admire the man and the way he handled his caller/critics on the radio, invariably with charm, humor and grace.

        RIP Chief Gates.

      3. I have to assume this is sarcasm. He was one of the most belittling, vainglorious asses that walked. I saw his LE attitude as “everyone is evil but us” that is pervasive at FPD. That is the biggest problem within the department, imo. He made my blood boil listening to his overtly calm condescending tone. And even though I was smart enough to know this was the desired response of this tactic, it still made me angry. I was glad to see him go and was irritated that he was so celebrated posthumously.

““The more you hung out with other cops, the more inbred you became, believing that anyone who is not a cop was a son-of-a-bitch.”

—The late Daryl Gates, former LAPD Chief of Police, in his autobiography”

I have a hard time believing Gates actually said that statement as quoted. Are you sure that wasn’t a quote from someone in the FPD? It sure seems to sum up the attitude of the department as a whole.

    1. Classic, and oh so true…

      Col. Jessep:

I’m being charged with a crime? Is that what this is? I’m being charged with a crime? This is funny. That’s what this is. This is…
(sudden anger)….I’m gonna rip the eyes out of your head and piss into your dead skull! You fucked with the wrong Marine!

      Capt. Ross:

Colonel Jessep! Do you understand these rights as I have just read them to you?

      Col. Jessep:

(dripping contempt) You fuckin’ people… you have no idea how to defend a nation. All you did was weaken a country today, Kaffee. That’s all you did. You put people’s lives in danger. Sweet dreams, son.

      1. Don’t call me son
I’m a lawyer and an officer in the United States Navy
And you’re under arrest you son of a bitch

        The witness is excused.

        1. Thanks for putting up the rest… it occurs to me now that one can only hope for a similar outcome for the local Col. Jessups.

  33. Imagine the disruption to the court system if deputy DA’s couldn’t make the walk from 401 Civic Center to 701 (the Superior courts building)!

In the long run it might not do much EXCEPT bring some heat on ReCOCKous and make the old man look bad.

I have heard that personally, he is TOTALLY VAIN, worrys about his age apperance and looks more than anyone.

Let’s post some unflattering pictures of the old fool!

  34. I suspect John and Ken will be a little irate at the stonewalling of the DA STILL NOT DONE WITH THE INVESTIGATION WITH DOZENS OF INVESTIGATORS WORKING THE CASE. With 24 investigators working 40 hours per week for 6 weeks that is over 5760 man hours “COME ON TONY HOW STUPID DO YOU THINK WE ARE?

    1. I think we can all expect some yelling and screaming by John especially – they come back on air tomorrow – but I can hear them yelling from where ever they are now.

We are not going away DA and the rest of you

    2. John-
Well… I’m not Tony but I don’t where to begin to answer that question. “How stupid do you think we are?”

This response as well as most on this site is yet again are emotional responses. It has nothing to do with the facts. Use your mind, not your heart when discussing this, that would be a great start, on this site. I’m tired of all the whiny complainers on here.

As I’ve said from day one, when the toxicology report, cause of death report, and actual video is released — that’s when WE will all know the WHOLE story.

Until then, you can whine, threaten, complain, and TRY to pressure but anyone that gives into this mob EMOTIONAL mentality would just be irresponsible. If the charges were filed before this evidence was complete, it would just be thrown out of court anyway. So don’t you want to be patient and get the RIGHT result, instead of the faster WRONG result to “pacify” all of you whiners.

  35. The connectivity is evident among the MSM. . Lets see if John and Ken are chilled on this after their break. Very interesting.

  36. Reality Is :
The DA looks at the evidence. Not the pipe dreams of people on this blog. Use facts and you too will see what really happened.

If you can’t recognize cold blooded murder when you see it then your sense of reality is pretty skewed. The longer they put off bringing justice to Kelly the more the outrage will grow. These cops are going to pay and the corruption in this city will continue to be exposed.

      1. I wanna keep the mangina squeaky clean for you. I just don’t wanna have to pay for it.

        All aboard the disappointment train!

  37. Reading all the blogs here makes me think you have forgotten somebody to go after. Sharon Qwirk-Silva demanded the release of the officers names and addresses involved in this. I say she is supposed to protect the city, not bring more strife. Her lack of political maturity sure is showin’ here. She just wants her cronies on the board with her to further her own agenda. I think it is time to release her home address and give her a dose of her own meds… She’s a disgrace to the City,

  38. Mainjet, Nobody is going away! This is an emotional situation with ppl on both sides feeling very strongly about it.

You can’t legislate morality, so we have to have laws to protect us against immorality! On both sides. All John and Ken care about are ratings and the bottom line! Just like Dad Thomas. He makes me sick talking about the homeless and how he is going to help them… Charity begins at home. Who does he think he’s kidding?

Miss Silva I would never do to your kids as you have done to the officers’ kids and families. Shame Shame Shame on you!!!

    1. The officer’s, their wives, kids and families have seen nothing yet. Wait till the trial and media circus and names and faces have been released. The backlash involved is likely to be pretty ugly, and they will have no one to blame but themselves for that. The shame belongs to the entire law enforcement community in this story.

  39. ExPat ExLawyer :

Prosecute the cops and they will fuck with his real life or his family in one way or another

Fuck with the citizens.. “eh, who cares, If I don’t get re-elected I will have pensions and retirements etc etc”

  40. Mainjet: I wish it had never happened but it did and we are stuck with it. So… now we have to be realistic and follow the law and whether we like it or not we have to yield to the powers that be that we elected.

If there are people on this blog complaining about the DA or the Mayor or any other elected official and you did not vote, GET OFF THE BLOG! Let this be a lesson to you.

    Your vote does count!

And if I don’t like who is elected, that’s my problem

  41. Orange County District Attorney and Sheriffs are snakes guarding hen house.
We got exactly what we vote for.

  42. jaynbond :

What do you feel strongly about coward

    1. How about letting the investigation take it’s course. The city camera video will reveal what took place, good for the cops or bad, and then, and only then, will anyone know what occurred. Until then, all this screaming about murder, torture, etc., is of no consequence.

  43. Free Spirit, My Ass :
How about letting the investigation take it’s course. The city camera video will reveal what took place, good for the cops or bad, and then, and only then, will anyone know what occurred. Until then, all this screaming about murder, torture, etc., is of no consequence.

True! The guy they killed was yelling for his family while the cops were brutalizing him in front of tons of witnesses

PROBLEM ISSSSSSSSS with you and the other people afraid to tear down the walls..

FIFTEEN YEARS AND NOT ONE CONVICTION.. pretty remarkable eh?

  44. That IS remarkable, I agree, however, in this case, and it’s a horrible one, very few on this site are willing to be patient until the facts come out. Eye witness testimony is the worst evidence because it’s subject to alot of variables. The coroner’s report, which, I agree, is taking longer than I would have expected will determine the cause of death and will be specific as to the injuries. The city cam, I hope, will show how the injuries occurred and how hard those involved fought, including Kelly. The conjecture that he was kicked, knee-dropped, tortured, etc., all while face down and hogtied, is just that; conjecture. I don’t see the DA trying to sweep anything under the rug with the FBI involved. Being afraid to tear down the walls has nothing to do with it. The fact Kelly was yelling for his family sounds horrible, however, what if he was yelling “YO-YO-MA?” How does what he was yelling change anything? I don’t know where these witnesses were in relation to the scene, however, that I-Phone video showed nothing but cop cars and the sound of a taser and Kelly yelling. The hospital photo, while disturbing, shows what appears to be a broken nose ( the gauze in the nostrils ), the discolored and swollen eyes that accompany a broken nose, tubes and gauze in the mouth, and a few pieces of gauze, beneath which, I presume, are cuts that have dried blood coming from them. Head lacerations and broken noses usually bleed like crazy. This incident took 7 minutes. I don’t see it taking 7 minutes to kill someone in a 6 on 1 scenario. The Stow beating at Dodger Stadium took seconds. Another kick to the head and he would have been dead. Most everyone here seems to think that the cops just went berserk and pummeled him non stop for the duration of the incident. If that’s the case, the incident would have been over in seconds, way before anyone could have broke out a phone to record it. I just think that everyone needs to at least try to be patient and let the DA and FBI do their thing. All of the comments about murder, torture, etc., lack common sense. I can understand people being passionate about wanting resolution but it’s not a shoplifting case. It’s gonna take a long time to get to the bottom of it. In the meantime, those who are sure they’ve got it figured out are gonna lose their minds if it’s determined that the force was not excessive and that the cause of death was not because of the cops. I don’t expect many here to agree, even in part, as they have their minds made up as to how and why this occurred, however, no one here was involved in the incident and therefore they really, really don’t know what happened. Nor do I.

    1. In 2001 Arnel and Argyros were named in a civil complaint alleging Arnel Management “systematically withheld tenants’ security deposits”.[3] Soon after its filing, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas terminated the district attorney’s investigation and removed Argyros’ name from the case, saying “I felt we had a strong case against the company and it would weaken the case [to include Argyros].” This decision was attacked after it was discovered that Argyros had contributed $30,000 to Rackauckas’s campaign. Argyros was confirmed as ambassador to Spain shortly after this case settled.[4]

…there have been thousands of families that George Argyros has systematically stole deposits from for over thirty years as tenants in OC apartments owned by George through Arnel Development. Most of those tenants were decent people like yourself that naively thought that justice would be served and their monies would be returned, and instead came away empty handed. These two rascals George Argyros and Tony Rakaukas are evil personified masquerading as shepards for the flock of sheep here in Orange County who are too afraid to stand up them.

    2. Jesus, Free Spirit – that was by far the most lucid and intelligent you or the other “pseudo-cop”/trolls have said about any of this so far. Why don’t you stick to this line of reasoning and quit making the “he ran, he deserved” it comments? I mean, I don’t agree with you, but damn, at least what you’re saying here makes some sense and doesn’t make all of you cops look like out-of-control, hateful, vengeful goons.

Please troll-cops, learn from this post and follow suit.

  45. What I have learned through the experience of being in a situation where I was forced to report police & official corruption –

where my choice was – report police corruption

or remain silent and be oppressed – is that it is NOT guaranteed that something good will come out of reporting police corruption. Yes believe it or not if you report you may find out what I say is true – with hard knocks…

This is because if the environment for reporting police corruption is hostile to the idea of cleansing the police corruption & official corruption which needs the police corruption…

or if the officials cannot handle and feel threatened by an underling or student complaining about sexual abuses, or a complaint from a citizen about the police framing them, or a police officer reporting another police officer’s corruption or brutality, then the person uncovering the Institutionalized corruption will probably be retaliated against in some way such as terminated if employed as a police officer, or framed by police if a student at a California Community College.

What I have also learned by NOT backing down & by sticking up for myself, and going through the experience, although I would NOT at all have chosen it for myself – it makes you wiser and stronger once you are able to get passed the pain of the injustice, and in my case once I was able to get past the pain of the physical injury of police brutality. And you may be able to convey that real experience to others, as we all face the same potential problem in California, because the laws are not strong enough or in our favor.

    For a person of conscience

You are damned if you don’t report police corruption

And you may be damned if you do report police corruption

IN the case of not reporting police corruption – if you are a police officer – you may remain safe and get your pay packet but will you feel good about yourself when your fellow officers or employees deal corruptly with people or “accidentally” murder them.

And what if you happen to be there when someone gets murdered by one of your fellow officers. Then that is when – you have been damned for not reporting…especially if it is on tape.

And there are usually big signs in advance – that a fellow officer may becoming unhinged and capable of murder.

If you do have the strength and are in a position to report police corruption – this is the stance that will be intuitively taken by you and the outcome will hinge on the local environment whether you can stay or whether you have to move away to a more peaceful – corruption free environment.

  46. I’m pro-cop but this time the fpd are dead wrong and apparently not for the first time. What possible motivation could there be for refusing to release the hi res, zoom enabled video to the public while requiring all be one of the officers to rewrite their incident reports 2 or 3 times as they viewed the sequestered video? In the ten years as a MP it never took more than 2 or 3 of us to take into custody even the most massive and aggressive soldier. And these were well armed, battle hardened men, not a lil 160# guy.

  47. Free Spirit, My Ass :
Nor do I.

I appreciate your calmness but I hope the whole world marches on your city hall if those cops are not found to be culpable in his death… Like others have stated.. they went way over the line in their attempts to subdue this guy

I truly believe in my heart he and they both knew they were going to murder him that night. They say he had previous run-ins with them.. well I think they had it out for him and is why we do not get to hear the 9/11 calls or even the truth as to what he was reported to have done.. What gave them the right to accost him in the manner they did.

Why SO MUCH talk about slidebar helping the cops kick some ass on the scummy homeless. is it all false

You saw the pool of blood there

Comatose.. I guess he must have been using his head as a weapon

They will close ranks and lie and lie and lie some more.. worst that might happen is a couple courses in homeless and mental disorders… etc etc la la la

Even the FBI really may not want to stir shit up.. It is easier to keep the bad cops in power than it is to tell the public they are right and the cops are bad…

Where is Rush Limbaugh when you need him so he could make some heartless jokes about the cops just letting off a little steam or just high school prank gone wrong etc etc..

Until ppl come up against the power structures in our society they never realize how powerful and deadly and inhuman they really are..

    *************
First they came for the communists,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

    Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
    ***************

We’ll hopefully see soon.. the video(s) they have.. in their entirety

We have seen parts of Kennedy’s skull fly apart.. we deserve to see our taxes at work in the “by the books” apprehension of a car burglary suspect who was known well to the Fullofshiterton, CA Police Department

IF.. they tazed him more than once.. and then say, maybe 3 times.. would you freakout on them or.. just hmm and haw it.. shrug.. ya know.. they just always like that

I have talked to some big dudes who have been tased and ONCE was allll it took

“don’t tase me bro” hmm ..

What will you do if the cops claim their tasers
did not record more than one taser fire
were malfunctioning and not actually putting out volts
    etc etc

They tried to gently restrain and calm the homeless man known to them.. then when he ran from them (because I will be he could see they were going to brutalize him) they tackled him and started beating on him and tasering him? on scenes witnesses who said they just watched the whole thing saw the cops just beat that guy to death and tase him like 6 times etc

all I know is he wasn’t in a coma and skull fractures BEFORE the cops beat on him, no was he?

    1. I, too, appreciate your calmness, however, we don’t have any confirmation as to a skull fracture. If death was from blunt force trauma, the coroner would have figured that out right away. Tasing someone has variable effect. Especially when the taser is used without the darts. The contacts on the taser are about 1.5″ apart when no cartridge is inserted. The arc of the current is therefore only spread that distance, similar to a dog shock collar. It hurts, for sure, but it is not disabling. If the darts are spread out further, like on the shoulder and thigh, and assuming they have good contact, then you’re going down. The arc is spread out over that distance and is much more effective. Being tased while wrestling with someone merely gets your attention and is designed to gain compliance due to the pinpoint pain caused. It has no effect on people with diminished pain receptors, whether from drugs or mental disability. It really only causes the muscles involved to contract. It hurts, but rarely works in close quarters. Further, you’re assuming the officers knew Kelly. Even if they did, what purpose would be served by picking out a particular homeless person for this type of treatment? The homeless can be a pain in the ass because some simply don’t care how they impact “normal” people, however, most simply want to be left alone and are content panhandling in retail areas and hanging out in parks or near the railroad tracks. You mention the Slidebar. I’m not too familiar with the place other than it appears to cater to college aged kids. Unless Kelly was a major pain in their ass, I can’t imagine them stiffing in a call to the PD about a burglary. Why not just call him in as a transient problem? And then to assume that the cops have a boner for him? I mean, was he THAT famous? It’s hard to imagine that he, of all people, would garner that level of attention from the cops. The DA, i assume, already has the video tape, the officer’s audio recorders, the taser records, etc. These will be shared with the FBI and the attorneys on both sides in due time. There are too many people involved at this point for any type of orchestrated coverup to occur. If you don’t agree with that then I’m not sure any type of evidence will suffice. Again, IF the video tape shows no excessive force being used, and IF the coroner’s finding show no serious injuries and determine that the cause of death was not at the hands of the officers, then what would you say? I understand that there are many here that have had bad experiences with law enforcement, however, it appears to be a big jump to level the charges I’ve read in alot of the posts. Most can be due to ignorance, not stupidity, there’s a difference, to the law. Ok, maybe some stupidity. Again, we should all wait for the evidence to come out, i.e., the cause of death, the injuries sustained, the video and audio tapes, etc., before everyone loses their minds.

      1. Again, THANK YOU, and if you know your fellow cop/trolls on here, please advise them that even though we may disagree with you, we can at least respect you for posting something like this – reasoned, calm, and an honest attempt at rational discourse. See, its not that hard cops and cop lovers! Now, I still don’t agree with a lot of this, but I respect you for at least making an honest attempt at a solid argument.

If you’re a Fullerton cop, you can stay in my opinion. Though ultimately I think this case is going to be manslaughter or murder 2.

      2. @Free Spirit, My Ass,
Per your statement, “…Most can be due to ignorance, not stupidity…”, “Ok, maybe some stupidity.”

I don’t know which of the above descriptions applies more aptly in your particular case, but for Heaven’s sake, PLEASE TAKE A NAMI CLASS!!!

People suffering from paranoid schizophrenia ABSOLUTELY DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have “diminished pain receptors.” They ARE HUMAN BEINGS WITH FEELINGS. They have ALL of their feelings intact, both mental and physical!!!

In fact, what you SHOULD already know is that people who suffer from schizophrenia, especially those who are not on their medications or people who are suffering from an acute psychotic crisis, often are HYPERSENSITIVE to touch!! That’s right!! If you just BARELY even touch them it can send shock waves of pain up their arms!! In fact, in England, people who suffer from schizophrenia are often called “HYPERSENSITIVES”
They can also be very hypersensitive to light and sounds!! People who suffer from schizophrenia often do NOT like to be touched for this reason, in addition to their paranoia and mistrust of people. I have had MUCH personal experience with this hypersensitivity issue with my own son over the past 11 years. I can assure you that I did not “just read up on it” as you surmised in your comment about me in a previous post, quote: “..Sounds like an overly emotional ninny that read up on the mentally challenged…”

I can assure you that I have done a LOT of reading, researching, attending classes, meetings and conversations with many other parents, asked a LOT of questions, talked to a LOT of doctors, attended many professional mental health experts’ presentations on severe mental illness, etc., and not the least of these- talked to my own son, who also suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.

Therefore, I would greatly appreciate it if you and all of your “professional” co-workers would please stop trying to minimize the pain and suffering that Kelly Thomas endured at the hands of law enforcement when he was brutally beaten to DEATH. Please stop trying to dehumanize Kelly Thomas; you show absolutely no concern, nor empathy for Kelly Thomas and it more than revolting.

Per your statement, “Again, we should all wait for the evidence to come out, i.e., the cause of death, the injuries sustained, the video and audio tapes, etc., before everyone loses their minds.”

Well, I can assure you that I am very far away from losing my mind. You need not concern yourself with that. If I was going to “lose my mind,” I would have done it a long time ago.

We ARE all waiting for the surveillance video and other evidence, which by the way, I’m pretty sure would have been released by now if it exonerated the officers.

Video tapes of many, very serious, crimes ARE routinely released to the media. However, in this particular case, it seems that the D.A. “has your back.” Therefore, whether, or not, any video WILL EVER be released is another matter entirely.

Until the then, the Thomas family DOES have a cause of death which was provided by Kelly Thomas’ attending physician who declared Kelly BRAIN DEAD from lack of oxygen to the brain; we DO have witness accounts; we DO have insider information about statements that were made by the officer when he threatened Kelly Thomas, which caused Kelly to be in fear for his safety, just before Kelly started to run away in fear for his life; we DO have very graphic photos; we do have some video clips where we CAN hear Kelly SCREAMING for his DAD!, DAD!, HELP! Etc.

And, by the way, it DOES matter, to most sentient human beings, what Kelly was screaming. Kelly was NOT screaming “YO YO MA” as you so ridiculously, suggested in a previous post. This is just one more example of you trying to minimize Kelly’s pain, anguish and suffering.

IF, IF… Kelly had been screaming “GET OFF ME, OR I’LL KILL YOU!” … or some such thing, then perhaps the six large officers might have had some small reason for concern. However, since Kelly was IN FACT screaming, something more to the effect of, “OH PLEASE GOD, I’M SORRY!!” And “DAD, DAD, DAD, HELP” …well, that’s a whole different story now, isn’t it???

The witness I spoke with stated to me that never heard Kelly say anything bad AT ALL, except to scream, “DAD, DAD, HELP, etc.. And, you’re right, no matter what Kelly said, it really could never be used as an excuse to murder Kelly Thomas. “Sticks and stones may break my bones…but words can never hurt me.” Remember that? Especially since Kelly was UNARMED and there were six large armed officers against one malnourished man.

I will continue to voice my opinion, just as clearly as you are voicing yours. And, as you stated in a prior post, “…however, no one here was involved in the incident and therefore they really, really don’t know what happened. Nor do I.”

That being said, if YOU don’t know what happened, then your opinion is not any more valid than mine.

And, I happen to believe the witness that I spoke with, whereas you apparently don’t. And, you have a lot more at stake in trying to minimize the officer’s culpability than I do. It’s probably your full time job right now to come on this blog and do PR work for the FPD. Or, maybe several of the officers who are on administrative leave/paid vacations all take turns??

I don’t believe that you are concerned about whether, or not, “everyone loses their minds.” I do believe that the only thing you are really concerned about is trying to deflect as much responsibility as possible away from your fellow officers.

I can’t imagine any other reason why you would even bother to write on this blog. I have no reason to believe that you care anything at all about the Kelly Thomas’ of this world. To you, Kelly Thomas was just a “transient” or a “pain in the ass” or “mentally challenged,” or any of ten or twenty other equally offensive epithets directed at Kelly Thomas. You seem so badly to want to devalue Kelly’s life and to dehumanize him.

If you try to tell me that you are just trying to “calm everyone down” and “restore our sanity before “everyone loses their minds,” etc., well,…I think that you have been doing more than your share of name calling and rabble rousing on this blog. Therefore, your motives are not very clear, nor credible. You have NOT been calming anyone down by all of your patently offensive remarks, made in the name of the professionals who wear the badges. In fact, your ignorant comments only serve to make me more upset and very MUCH MORE concerned about the quality of education and humanity that our officers possess.

Oh, and another thing. Are you volunteering to let us watch YOU be the subject of multiple Tasering, and kicking (and I don’t mean with tennis shoes), and bludgeoning of the skull with the butt end of a Taser (until blood sprays all over the hands and arms of your attacker), and at least two full body weight knee drops into the face and neck, and have your skull slammed into the concrete curb, and receive fist blows, and choke holds, and be beaten with night sticks/batons, etc. until you are in a COMA?? And then, IF YOU DON’T DIE after five days on life support, from lack of oxygen to the brain due to blunt force trauma– Well, IF you can demonstrate all of that, in EXACTLY the SAME WAY that they used deadly force on Kelly Thomas, please let me know. I’ll be there to watch you demonstrate all of that.

And, then, if you survive EXACTLY the SAME AMOUNT OF FORCE that Kelly received, and you survive to tell about it, then maybe I’ll be more receptive to your highly suspect and unconvincing PR job.

Per your prior astute “professional” analysis in a prior comment, it would appear that you believe that Kelly Thomas murdered himself, while he was screaming for mercy, by means of a smoking and wrestling induced heart attack. Hardly.

BUT FOR the Threats, and the brutal deadly assault and battery sustained at the hands of the officers, Kelly Thomas would still be alive today.

          1. MORE never ending excuses for beating an unarmed man to death??

FPD officers murdered Kelly WHILE he was fully compliant, not resisting, and motionless, (as motionless as could be expected from someone who is writhing uncontrollably in pain and agony after having his skull slammed into the concrete curb and being kicked, Tased and beaten.)

And, Kelly was unabatedly and violently assaulted while he was screaming for mercy, “I’M SORRY!” while he screamed for God and for his dad to “HELP, HELP, HELP!, DAD, DAD!!” while he was lying flat on the ground, while he was being sat on by three officers who Tased him repeatedly, while he was kicked, beaten with nightsticks, and at least twice knee dropped on his face and throat, while he was surrounded and beaten by 6 armed, bullet proof vest wearing officers, who were most likely amped up by Roid rage.

The beating continued even AFTER Kelly was motionless and unconscious.

STOP blaming the victim. The officers did NOT follow proper arrest and control techniques. It is NOT a proper arrest and control technique to beat and restrain someone’s head.

Your pathetic attempts to justify the horrific murder of Kelly Thomas just go on and on and on, ad infinitum.

ONLY THE GUILTY parties to this grievous crime give any credence AT ALL to your pathetic defense of the indefensible. .

        2. Thanks for your medical opinion however…

A schizophrenic person may have no hallucinations, but believe they are Hitler or Jesus, etc. They might believe they have superhuman powers that no one else does. They may believe that television shows are written and aired just to give them a message. They could think the FBI is after them because they alone speak a secret language that could end the world. All sorts of possibilities. These would be delusions.

Auditory hallucinations are usually not the wind or a fan noise- those would probably not be clinically significant hallucinations, depending on who you talk to. Hearing voices is quite common. Screaming, crying, commands, insults- those are common auditory hallucinations.

Visual hallucinations could be anything- seeing animals, people, bizarre objects, blood… any manner of things.

Bear in mind that the presence of hallucinations, delusions, or even catatonia is not necessarily called schizophrenia. Only a psychologist, psychiatrist or appropriate counselor can diagnose for sure.

Because he had loaned out his truck to a friend moving and then moved shortly after that himself. The friend never told him about the ticket. Police put hand cuffs on him so tight that an hour later when his $75.00 fine and booking cost was paid he had to get stitches in his wrists because of the cuffs. Police claimed it was because he was struggling.

  51. I just saw the video and NO DOUBT HE WAS BEAT TO DEATH, BECAUSE COPS JUS WANTED TO BEAT HIM. I like the part where the cop asks kelly if he see’s his fists and tells him that they are about to bleep him up COPS are more crooked then the crooks what has this justice system come to????
