Tim Shaw Throwing a Party

Well, it’s really a fundraiser for Shaw’s 4th District County Supervisor campaign.

I’m not sure why Mr. Shaw is running for this seat. `Shaw ran for this job in 2018 against the senile and corrupt Doug “Bud” Chaffee and couldn’t beat him. He didn’t run in the 2022 election which saw two Democrats in the general election.

Tim Shaw

Shaw is a Republican in a district that is now solidly Democrat. Even if he were to make a run-off in the primary, he won’t win in the general election. He has no evident path to victory.

Shaw may have a name recognition problem. He gave up his job on the La Habra City Council a few years ago thanks to a lawsuit against him by Chaffee’s wife, Pilferin’ Paulette Marshall, the petty thief who wanted to force him off his other job on the OC Board of Education for holding incompatible offices. Shaw crossed her up by keeping his gig at the under-the-radar OCBOE, instead of the La Habra City Council. And therein lies a problem for him.

The OCBOE has been hijacked by a group of ultra-loony Trumpies and Shaw has been part of their team. If he were to get past a primary he would be mercilessly attacked as a fascist loon despite his generally moderate reputation.

Well, all that back story aside, Shaw is inviting folks to his reception out on Carbon Canyon Rd in October. It’s a horsey theme, I guess, so wear your Stetson and bring your credit card.

  1. Shaw can’t win. The Republican guy from Brea last time came in third in the primary against Chaffee and Sunny Parka.

    1. Tim Shaw has no vision, just complaints about this and that. The fruit certainly does fall close to it’s tree. Just go and attend a Lowell Joint Board meeting and listen to the blurred vision Karen L. Shaw has for the youth in La Habra. It is the reason why Los Angeles County voters voted Lowell Joint School District out of Los Angeles.

  2. Shaw would be a million times better than the Brandman clone Trout, a boohoo who will ALWAYS be running for his next job.

    1. Fred Jung isn’t a dem either and he’s running? The OC dem party is working to censure him. His voting record would make any Republican proud.

      1. Is the “he’s running” a question? OC Democratic Party is a joke. Censure him? He declined their endorsement they’re so bad. They endorsed Traut proving they are a laughing stock.

      2. The OC Dem party endorsed Vivian “Cannbis Kitty” Jaramillo. How did that work out?

Jung’s “record” is about trying to apply some accountability and common sense, thing completely foreign to Democrats (and most Republicans, too).

  3. Tim Shaw has no business being in any elective office.

Tim Shaw lost his way by thinking he can step over people with his ego and the people he associate with.

Why is Tim Shaw doing this ridiculous candidacy anyways?

  4. Tim has astonishingly poor self awareness, even by politician standards.

Even though I think he’s right on the merits a good portion of the time, he regularly overestimates his impact and burns bridges like it’s nobody’s business.

Tim is in his 40’s and has a ton of kids. I’m not sure his political endeavors are all that sincere, just a means to a bigger income. There’s things that don’t add up with Tim like his being on La Habra City Council *and* OCTA board *and* Sanitation District *and* teaching at Rio Hondo College *and* being a full time lobbyist *and* pursuing OC Board of Education. That’s a surefire way to avoid your wife and kids throughout the week. Geez.

Most politicians will tell you the city council responsibilities are overwhelming all by themselves.

    1. They all do that “look what board I’ve been on” bullshit. It just means you have more rubber stamps in your pocket.

I look at Shaw and I think “Republican Jordan Brandman.” The career political moves are eerily parallel. Two people who never really worked in the private sector except as government lobbyists – if you want to call that private sector.

Come to think of it that Trout guy is a good fit for this club.

      1. Thank you!

Exactly. Republicans like Shaw wants it the easy way as “Government Relations” or being a government lobbyist by rubbing elbows BS rather than having a real job or heavens forbid have to work to clock in for a REAL paycheck at a retailer like Target or whatnot.

        There are grifters everywhere.
