This guy was riding his bike westbound in the 100 block of West Orangethorpe a week or so ago, when blammo, a man driving the wrong way in the northernmost lane wipes him out. The injured man was hospitalized with unknown injuries and later released. The driver who sped off (somehow still in the wrong lane?) was later apprehended by the cops. His name is Christian Diaz and lives in West Covina.

Mr. Diaz has been charged with attempted murder.

The cause and the duration of Diaz’s wrong way journey remains a mystery, but boy is he in Big Trouble.

  1. Good thing the guy wasn’t hurt too badly. Now cue the Fullerton Observer preaching about protecting bike riders.

      1. The city ought to prohibit vehicles from driving in the wrong direction and on the incorrect side of the road to ensure the safety of cyclists!

        1. The City should close Orangethorpe to all vehicles forever so cyclist can finally ride safely!

          1. Walk on Orangethorpe! Close it between Harbor and Euclid. Start a petition! Word it in the right way and you can get 2000 idiots to sign it. Or you can just say they signed it and save yourself the trouble.

  2. How do we know it wasn’t Tony after half a bottle of Dewars? Wrong lane, confused, fleeing the scene… checks a lot of boxes. hmmm

      1. Or gas. Or food.

He must be dipping into what’s left of the once huge campaign stash he was planning on using to get a better office. But he blew $120,000 just on barely getting re-elected, thanks to Bushala. Fortunately he bears Tony no ill will!
