Poor Pilfering Paulette Digs Hole

A number of women’s group got together to buy some trees to be planted in the County’s Ralph Clark Regional Park. This effort produced a self-congratulatory press release by the Women’s Club.

Well, so far so good. Except for one thing. Pathetic perpetual candidate for office and admitted petty thief, Paulette Chaffee, has weaseled her way into yet another group photo.

There she is in her pretty pink sweater pretending to use a shovel at the ceremonial ground breaking (for a tree).

But even that’s not the problem, per se. The real issue is identified in the Women’s Club press release text, wherein we read:

Representatives from several of the participating groups attended the ceremonial groundbreaking, along with Mike Wilson, Deputy Director of OC Parks, and Paulette Chaffee, Fourth District Ambassador.

Wilson emphasized the importance of community partnerships in maintaining healthy public spaces. “Our parks thrive when community members take an active role in caring for them,” he said. “These new trees will benefit visitors for generations to come.”

Chaffee echoed that sentiment. “It is wonderful when community groups come together to purchase replacement trees and help out in this way,” she said. “Everyone loves OC Parks and we can all appreciate the beauty of the trees.”

Now we discover that Mrs. Chaffee’s presence, whatever her clubby associations may be, is in attendance in her role of “4th District Ambassador” a completely fake job created by her husband, the odious rodent Doug, who happens to be our 4th District County Supervisor. She got herself a mention and even one of those fatuous quotations that are only believed to be genuine expressions by imbeciles.

Pilferin’ Paulette has been photo bombing official photo ops courtesy of Doug for the better part of ten years in order to help her visibility in her various runs for office. So far the strategy doesn’t seem to have helped much, but it sure hasn’t been for lack of trying. This year her electoral attempt is for the North Orange County Community College Board of Trustees, so we can expect to stumble over a lot of images of the 4th District Ambassadress in the coming months.

My personal opinion is that the less people see of Mrs. Chaffee, the better she is likely to to at the polls.

Pilferin’ Paulette: Busted Thief Running for North Orange County Community College Board

And that would be Paulette Chaffee, disgraced wife of our senile and corrupt County Supervisor Doug “Bud” Chaffee. It had been rumored last summer that this perennial candidate was again looking for an elected job, and that this seat might be it.

Mrs. Chaffee is desperate to be elected something. Her strategy has been to cling like a barnacle to the hope of something education related, that being the easiest sort of thing to be elected to. She has run and failed twice to be on the opaque Orange County Board of Education spending who knows how much of her kids’ inheritance in the process.

Before those BoE runs, Mrs. Chaffee bought a condo in the newly formed 5th District, and faux carpetbagged into it to try to get on the Fullerton City Council, even though she really lived in a posh house up on a hill. That election saw her get into trouble with the long arm of the law.

Chaffee was caught on video – twice – stealing campaign signs. She pleaded guilty and paid a fine and quit that race. But she wasn’t done self-promoting for future political advantage.

And that’s where I put the sign in the back of the car…

Her community service, it was said, provided education related photo content for her future OC Board of Education attempts.

This unelected’s strategy has been to photobomb just about every political event imaginable, always haunting the background like the chorus in a Greek tragedy. You name it, there she is. Her husband anointed her OC 4th District Ambassador, whatever the Hell that was supposed to be.

Even the most cynical political creatures might be understood for withholding their endorsement of Pilferin’ Paulette. However some seem not to be even bothered by her checkered past. Here are some of the endorsements from her website:

But Mrs. Chaffee has a problem and it isn’t callow youth. She is at least 76 years old and time is running out. Moreover, the seat she is running for has two rivals.

One is the dim bulb Jesus Quirk-Silva, former Fullerton councilmember, who has his own set of endorsements, several the same as Chaffee’s. Even his wife endorses him. Could he be bought off to go away? Not likely.

And then there’s the 24 year incumbent, Jeffrey Brown, who isn’t going anywhere and will enjoy the title NOCCCD Board Member as his job title on the ballot.

The only thing we can be sure of in this election is that the potential for merriment, FFFF style.

She’s Back! Tanned, Rested and Ready, Pilferin’ Paulette Marshall Returns

Sort of like toenail fungus, Paulette Marshall (Chaffee) is an unwelcome parasite that won’t go away. She has recently announced yet another run for public office – this time another try for the Orange County Board of Education.

Friends may remember Paulette from such hits as faking an address to run for Fullerton’s 5th District back in 2018. Too bad she was caught stealing campaigns on video. That ethical lapse caused her to quit the race (not in shame, for she has none). The DA wasn’t impressed and charged her. She was forced to plead guilty, pay a fine and do community service; her record was expunged, but the two videos that document her criminal activity are alive and well on the internet.

In 2020 Ms. Marshall (Chaffee) returned to electoral politics – a first run at the OC BoE. Her campaign was marked by a phony “news” website and phony interviews which were so lame it was almost more pathetic than angrifying.

Trying to run on her County Supervisor husband’s coat tails yet again, she poured a ton of cash into her campaign, yet finished a distant third place – way behind Vicki Calhoun – who spent virtually nothing.

Why Paulette thinks her chances are any better than they were two years ago is unknown. Her past is hanging around her neck like the proverbial albatross and it seems unlikely that her by just using her husband’s name will work.

In 2021 she got a crony to sue Tim Shaw, the guy who beat her in 2020, to quit the Board. His reappointment to a 2-year term must have come as a shock to Paulette who unsuccessfully interviewed for the job, and is suing Shaw yet again.

I suppose FFFF will just have to dust off and crank up the old campaign machine and get ready to go to work.

Normally a race for the county Board of Education would cause no excitement – not even a blip on the local political radar screen. This year is different in our district election because one of the candidates is the unspeakably dishonest Paulette Marshall Chaffee who was busted just a year ago faking an address to run for the Fullerton City Council and then who then was caught stealing campaign signs twice.

Well, this scofflaw now believes she should be on the Board of Education and true to form is telling voters she’s a former teacher supported by ridiculously posed images of her in a classroom. For this septuagenarian miscreant, just like her co-conspirator husband Bud, the sky’s the limit as far as spending vast amounts for her own electoral gratification.

But Pilferin’ Paulette has competition in this election. In one case it’s from a guy named Tim Shaw who ran against Old Bud for 4th County Supervisor last year. He knows his opponents, husband and wife, pretty well and has created a website to help inform folks of the abysmally low level of moral integrity possessed by Bud and Paulette.

Well, Godspeed, Mr. Shaw. Anybody who helps expose the incompetent criminal conspiracy known as the Chaffee Crime Family should be applauded for their good work.

Pilfering Paulette On The Comeback Trail

Most people, after having been nabbed committing trespass and theft would at least lay low for a respectable period of time.

But Paulette Marshall Chaffee, the former carpetbagging sign thief who quit the Fullerton City Council race less than a year ago is not respectable. She has decided to run for the Orange County Board of Education, a fairly obscure and almost totally opaque local agency.

One of our attentive Friends actually received a push poll promoting this miscreant. Just in case you don’t know a push poll is one of those phony calls that ask questions like: “if you knew Paulette Marshall invented a cure for cancer would you be more or less likely to vote for her?”

Well, I have a question of my own: what in the world are this woman’s qualifications? She can’t even steal campaign signs without getting busted.

Paulette and her doddering husband Doug “Bud” Chaffee have a long history of arrogance and indifference to the people of Fullerton, and so this move shouldn’t be too surprising.

And neither should it be surprising that we, the good folks at FFFF, will be conducting our own outreach: if you knew Paulette Marshall Chaffee plead guilty to theft would you be more or less likely to vote for her?

Doug, Dunn & Domer: Protecting Pilfering Paulette?

Fullerton can be a funny town with funny stories.

Consider if you will a version of Fullerton where Doug (Chaffee), (Acting Chief) Dunn & (City Manager) Domer have come to an agreement.

In exchange for not referring the Mayor’s wife to the District Attorney’s Office and not investigating the true extent of just how many signs Paulette stole, the Chaffees agreed to suspend Paulette’s campaign. They’ve agreed that she’ll stay out of the public eye through the election.

Doug will also skip the next Council meeting and the city will make no public statement on the matter until December. All parties agreed this was the best way to minimize impacting Doug’s campaign for Supervisor.

That wouldn’t be so hard to believe. That level of corruption feels about right for these idiots in the town we call home.

Even we have a hard time with the next part.

Apparently, Doug, Dunn, and Domer agreed to send a city vehicle to collect Paulette’s various sign caches. The collection is substantial and the triple alliance can’t decide if they’ll move the signs to the city yard to be reclaimed by their owners or to destroy them.

Keeping a crime quiet is one thing. Using city resources to cover it up? Well. That’s quite another.

How does your version of Fullerton align with this potential reality?

In any case, this clearly needs to be taken up by someone well outside Doug’s reach. It’s clear that Doug has influence over Fullerton’s management, but he may also control the purse strings of county officials soon. That means we can’t trust that favors haven’t already been exchanged with the District Attorney and Sheriff offices.

Stealing signs may be Petty Theft, but using government resources to cover up a crime is not. We hate to make a federal case over something so insane, but if Doug, Dunn & Domer really are colluding to cover up Paulette’s crime to benefit Doug’s campaign, that’s serious business.

In any case, this much is clear: we’re owed an explanation. Has Paulette and Doug’s property been searched? What about their cars where videos show her putting the stolen property? Did Doug, Dunn & Domer meet? If so, when and where? How long did the meeting last?

So far, the city has said nothing. Not one word. Not one iota of acknowledgement. Nothing from PD. Nor the Mayor. Nor the Council. Not even the City Manager. Not a word has been uttered publicly from anybody.

Even for Fullerton, that’s odd.

The County has been equally as silent. Our DA is too busy campaigning to make sure this is handled in an expeditious and honest fashion.

We think that all this silence means that at least part of this ~~leak~~. . . hypothetical . . . might be true. Here’s why:

In Fullerton we’re accustomed to our city hiding behind disclosure laws to “protect the city from liability” while managing to only protect bad apples from being thrown in the waste bin. We watched it after the Kelly Thomas murder and we watched it again with the Felz Sappy McTree coverup. We’ve seen it countless times before and since.

Our rotating crop of City Council members, City Managers and staff just default to incompetency, lies and dubious readings of the law out of habit. It’s the natural state at City Hall.

Keystone Cops

Usually POBAR (the Police Officer’s Bill of Rights) can be blamed for a lot of this when a cop is involved.

Sometimes we’re told nothing for no reason whatsoever (How did that Parks & Rec vehicle end up on it’s roof and who was to blame?).

But this time is different.

Just yesterday a City Council candidate, Paulette Marshall Chaffee, dropped out of the race for the District 5 seat on council because she got caught red handed being a thief.

Her pity-me-party dropout letter is nonsense and we all know she’d be at the candidate forum tonight were it not for the videos we posted here to FFFF.

This time, there’s no scapegoat. There’s no underling for the Chief of Police to blame, there’s no entry level parks employee to take the heat, and there’s no crazy homeless person to label as the problem.

This time, it’s the very rich Mayor’s wife. The Mayor who’s about to become a County Supervisor and control the very large budgets for some very powerful people.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and somebody at City Hall will do the right and honest thing and tell us what’s happened so far and what’s happening.

We’ll have our eyes on the city yard otherwise.

More Trouble Down On The County Farm Vis-a-Vis the Do-Si-Do

The Voice of OC is reporting more suspicious activity on the part of crooked former County Supervisor Andrew Do. Do is already in the lockup after admitting to scamming OC out of millions in criminal scams with pals to steal COVID relief funds. His daughter, a co-conspirator got a slap on the wrist while his wife, Judge Cherie Pham still revels in the title of “Your Honor.”

“Now, auditors from the Weaver-Tidwell firm say they’ve reviewed over $486 million of contracts and found a series of questionable expenditures where Do ordered county staff to approve a vendor without the proper paperwork or covered up where grant money was actually going.”

You are ready to depart, young grasshopper…

Do is gone, but his self-proclaimed protégé and great friend, our County Supervisor Doug “Bud” Chaffee, isn’t. He has been stonewalling the Do affair from his dais and even now is quoted as saying:

“I don’t want to keep spending money if we can’t recover it in some way. The report is disturbing but it’s not what I’d call evidentiary quality.”

Right. Why pay to find out what happened and where the money went, and who benefitted? Nothing to see here, folks. So sayeth Chaffee, the staunch defender of public resources. Quality evidence is so darn expensive.

The rancid rodent Chafee has ten months left in his sketchy Supervisorial career. Perhaps he doesn’t want it tarnished by more scandal. Or maybe he’s got his own skeletons locked up some place he doesn’t want auditors poking around. Don’t forget the Little Lady – Pilferin’ Paulette is once again running for public office with her fake “4th District Ambassador” label, a non-job her hubby created to get her photo ops.

But if Chaffee hopes for peace and quiet he hopes in vain. Yet another galactic fuck up in which Andrew Do’s name is attached is addressed in a new Voice of OC post. Apparently the County claims a vendor in the public mental health game, Mind OC, owes them $65,000,000 for payments made without supporting evidence of accomplishment. And guess what? Mind OC has ties with…Andrew Do. Get this:

“Lawyers noted that Do helped increase Mind OC’s role in managing medical operations at the site, despite them being unlicensed, and pointed to a $275,000 contract the nonprofit created with the wife of Do’s then chief of staff Chris Wangsporn.”

Wangsaporn is not in jail, and neither is his wife. I don’t know whether Mr. or Mrs. Wangsaporn are or have ever been subjects of FBI investigations, but the Mr. W currently peddles his services as a government lobbyist. As usual, our DA Todd Spitzer has been singularly uninterested in the activities of Do and his Chief of Staff.

And now back to Chaffee. How much did he know about his best bud’s side gigs on the Board of Supervisors? What did he know and when did he know it? Chaffee has a million dollar+ office budget to help him “supervise” and there seems to have been nobody looking into a damn thing; if they did, Chaffee said nothing about the ocean of cash that was disappearing through the OC Health Care Agency funnel, abetted by the politcal puppets that ran it. And what did Pilferin’ Paulette know about the chicanery down on the County farm?

Traut endorsers. Look at names #1 and #2!

Have any of the current 4th District candidates addressed this ongoing scandal at the County? I am unaware of any statement promising a clean sweep and a reckoning for those who aided Do in his malfeasance. I would think this is something Fred Jung, Connor Traut, and Tim Shaw would be all over. But opposing corruption is scary because you never know who might prevail. And some of the miscreants may have endorsed you!

Bent History Bullshit

Here’s an interesting bit from the “print edition” of the Fullerton Observer, proving that once again the Fullerton Klown Kar has no rearview mirror.

The subject is the reopening of the abandoned UP Park, and all you have to do is look at the photo op result to guess that a history re-write is in the works.

While we were basking in the Spring-like day, most of the USA was under an unrelenting, repressive assault by ice, snow, and freezing rain. All of the speakers took notice of who was in the audience, mainly the Fullerton residents who did not give up on the idea of a local park, rallying support for an incredible 20-plus years. Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk Silva recalled how she was on the City Council in 2004 when the idea of revitalizing Union Pacific Park was discussed. Persistence from Fullerton residents kept the idea alive, so keep that in mind.

There’s a who’s who of Fullerton libs who can’t seem to have their pictures taken often enough, especially over there on the far left – the tarnished antique Pilferin’ Paulette Chaffee, who did less than nothing to have the park reopened. But then again, neither did Vanessa Estrella, or Sharon Quirk, or Jesus Quirk-Silva.

And on the subject of Quirk and Quirk Silva, the reimagining of history is appalling. Quirk got on the City Council at the end of 2004 all right. But at that point the first Union Pacific Park was just completed – brand effing new. Her statement is obviously meant to ignore the long history of bureaucratic failure that led to toxic soil removal and closure of a third of the park, to finally fencing off the whole damn thing because of the hypes, borrachos and homeless campers.

But just as important as hiding ugly truth is promoting your own accomplishment – finally doing what was thought impossible – after a 20-year fight! And let’s not forget the other myth – the popular struggle from la communidad, all of it ginned up, when it existed at all, by patronizing gringos at the Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, etc.

The Big Q probably doesn’t want you to remember that she was on the Council for another 8 years after her mythical park revitalization “discussions” allegedly took place, and so if the park wasn’t “revitalized” under her careful stewardship, why not?

Then there’s her dopey, hare-brained husband, Jesus, who was on the council from 2016 through 2022. What was he doing to revitalize the park after it really was fenced off? Nada. That’s right fish farm fans. He and Ahmad Zahra, also mugging in the picture, were trying to illegally convert the parkland to an intrusive fenced off private event center. So much for “the community.” You couldn’t make this stuff up.

The Fullerton Observer sisters and these political types want us to forget the real history of the UP Park – a poisoned public nuisance created by and for City bureaucrats as a Redevelopment money plaything who’s history would be a civic shame, if anybody in City Hall had any shame.

Now maybe you think that this is all trivial, this whitewash of the past. Not so. The conditions which caused UP Park #1’s failure are still there, even as more millions are thrown at UP Park #2. No one is paying attention because nobody cares.

Doug “Bud” Chaffee Screws Liberal Supervisor; Fullerton Boohoo Ignores Story

A couple weeks ago the Voice of OC did a couple of stories about the succession of the new Chairman of the OC Board of Supervisors. The first story posited the appointment of the incomprehensively corrupt Janet Nguyen as the new chair, over the then current Vice Chair, Katrina Foley. Foley has been passed over several times. The Voice’s reasoning was that Republicans Nguyen and Don Wagner would vote for the former; Democrats Vicente Sarmiento and Foley would vote for the latter. And our own home-grown rodent, Democrat Doug Chaffee? He has already endorsed Foley’s re-election opponent – a Republican – he thinks so little of her.

Not one to miss an opportunity to promote himself (and his wife, Pilferin’ Paulette), the octogenarian made a deal to keep the office for himself another year. The little drama was scripted to make it look like Foley was behind the idea, which is pure nonsense. She didn’t have a third vote and was obviously cajoled into voting for Chaffee so she could remain Vice Chair..

After the little Kabuki was done it was stamped by all five of the Supervisors.

Now here’s a fun snippet from the second Voice article:

Chaffee said he was “looking forward to a little more restful year,” but that he looked forward to using his last year in office effectively.

“I would accept the position if so elected.”

What predictably disingenuous bullshit from this decrepit, evil chipmunk.

But here’s the kicker: there has not been a single mention of Chaffee’s screw job of Foley by the Fullerton Observer that spends so much energy bemoaning the poor travails of “Dr.” Ahmad Zahra who also can’t scrape up that necessary third vote for elevation to the lofty title Mayor of Fullerton.

Personally, I couldn’t care less how the Chairman of the OC Board of Supervisors gets three votes; ditto for the Mayor of Fullerton. Three is three and that’s all that matters. Got your feelings hurt? Stay out of politics. But I have to admit my annoyance (not surprise) by the hypocrisy of the Kennedy Sisters’ refusal to even mention the story of how a liberal woman was kept from her “turn” in their precious uber-liberal rag.

The Return of Jesus Quirk-Silva

Just when you might have felt safe from the re-emergence of the bumbling, incoherent former Fullerton City Councilman, Jesus Quirk-Silva, you might be horrified to learn his political thirst for office hasn’t been quenched. It appears that Quirk-Silva wants to be on the North Orange County Community College Board of Trustees. Observe:

So about a month ago JQS filed the form 501 – the statement filed when you intend to be a candidate.

The OC Dems will no doubt get behind the guy who knows nothing about college except that he somehow graduated from one despite the obvious intellectual deficit. This will be the same agglomeration of Dems who tried mightily to create a council district for the sole purpose of keeping Mr. Quirk-Silva in a council seat.

If somebody wanted to they could make reference to Quirk-Silva’s votes on the Fullerton City Council – like his embarrassing, comical, and sadly disastrous flip-flop on the boutique hotel disaster, although that isn’t likely.

These community college trustee elections rarely cause much of a dust up because no one really cares who the nodding birds are. The most recent addition to this crew is a guy named Mark Lopez, an unethical bozo who tried to be on the Anaheim School Board at the same time and who got kicked off the latter.

Meantime, I should note there is an incumbent for the job, Jeffrey Brown who has been on the Board for well over twenty years and may be one of those people who love their little sinecure and will fight to keep it.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a rumor circulating that the seat is now coveted by none other than Paulette Marshal. Yes, the same person whose lawsuit against Tim Shaw caused the Dems to lose their only seat on the OC Board of Education; who tried and failed as a candidate for that job twice, pretending to be a teacher; and who was previously busted for stealing campaign signs from private property during a phony carpetbagging scheme to get on the Fullerton City Council in 2018.

She may look like death warmed over, but her political ambition may not be dead.

It would be safe to say that nobody wants Pilferin’ Paulette around anymore, hovering in the background like the chorus in a Greek tragedy. But this miscreant has shown she’s willing to sink a big chunk of her kid’s inheritance into getting a political office – any political office. Well, nobody except Paulette, and her senile, corrupt husband, County Supervisor Doug “Bud” Chaffee.
