Why Recall Jones, Bankhead and McKinley? Take Your Pick.

There probably isn’t enough room on a 9×12 postcard to list all of the reasons to recall F. Dick Jones, Don Bankhead and Pat McKinley, but this commendable attempt landed in Fullerton mailboxes over the weekend.

  1. This is a great Postcard.
Sure hope you have Ed Royce and his wife on your mailing list.
Just wonder if he has the balls to get involved if his wife had been a victim of RINCON?

    1. Travis Kiger to replace Jones.
      Greg Sebourn to replace Bankhead
      Barry Levinson to replace McKinley.

      Just my opinion.

      1. Not good for your reelection. These kooks added to the cheese you take from the school district and you’ll be out about 24K per year when you’re relegated to the unemployment line. Mama won’t be able to support your unemployable ass much longer.

  2. I like seeing crazy Dick Jones in print. Please include him on all future communication materials.

  3. Who is responsible for this?? Tell them, “RIGHT ON!!!” We are all slowly re-learning how our system can work for the people as we are recovering from a terrible period of apathy and self inflicted ignorance. FFF is an inspiration to us all, and I for one am very thankful! Get involved people! It’s the only way things can ever change.

    1. Jones and McVile looks like they yell at squirrels and children.

I just suddenly remembered that classic infomercial featuring that picture of Bankhead with different visions in the cartoon bubbles over his head as he slept.

  4. Love the photoshop work on McKinnley any more of a frown and he would look like a puppet.

    1. That may have been photoshopped, but if it was dipshit McPension did it. That came directly from his own campaign literature.

  5. The 3 stooges have about as much chance of beating this recall as a snowcone has staying cold and intact in a blast furnace. Each of them must know it’s over.

Show up at the Council meeting and get your last digs in. Blast them with verbal vomit. It’s free and fun. Come one come all!

  6. Oh, and screen the new candidates carefully. Don’t just vote for candidates because they tell you to. Force them to make written commitments. Otherwise you will end up in the very same mess you’re in today. Believe nothing they tell you. Only watch what they do. Force them to make commitments in writing. There’s your answer.

    1. you think he is asleep. This guy is just fucking with all of you..he is not as stupid as he looks.

      1. Yeah, maybe he was praying for political salvation.

Somebody take the car keys, quick, while he’s dozing.

  7. Speaking of the Fullerton Unobservant, they published an anti-recall ad with several names – while many are probably Fullerton residents, two others are noticeably *not* Fullerton residents: Wayne Wedin and Alfred Gobar. Both are development/redevelopment “consultants”, Wedin is a former Brea City Manager and councilmember/mayor. Cronyism? Wishful thinking that the development/redevelopment gravy-train will continue?

  8. My main reason is that 20 days after the Kelly Thomas beating these three (two of them former Chief and Captain of FPD) didn’t have enough sense to even demand the assailants be placed on admin leave. They were looking for any reason to act like they had no say in the affairs of the police department leaving us at the hands of a man ultimately charged with murder and one with manslaughter.

This was and is a failure to lead. Anyone can lead when all that is required is to move the staff recommendation. When true character was needed, none was available from these three and for that they deserve to be recalled.

  9. Great point Hollis. Remember that in the absence of action by the ocean cruising Police Chief, the city council acting through the city manager can demand administrative leave. Instead, the three blowhards were swilling the grog provided by newly promoted Lt. and formerly Sgt. Andrew Goodrich.
The fact that Goodrich was promoted shows that your current Acting Police Chief agreed that Andy’s lies about officer broken bones, etc. were OK and deserved a major award of salary and retirement benefits (and donuts!).
The City Manager chose his sides when he essentially did NOTHING. For that he received a one year extension to his contract. Thus a new city council will have to buy him out to get rid of him.. Another reason to dump the 3 jurassics!

  10. MARTIN HARABEDIAN, FORMER FULLERTON CHIEF OF POLICE AND RETIRED ORANGE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE..
    Says…VOTE “NO” ON THE RECALL!!
Being endorsed by tons of people inculuding me!!
    See ya June 5th..Cant wait!

    1. Hoo Boy! Former Police Chief Supports Police Corruption.

No news there. Tons of people? You’re looking at all the no votes in town, Chief.

      1. Martin Harabedian was loved and respected by so many. Look it up. He was a great chief and a outstanding guy..Ex LAPD!!

        1. And now he’s eighty and senile. Just the perfect front for Flackerman’s shakedown crew.

          1. Just saw him last week and he still looks cool as a cucumber and sharp as a knife. Eighty or ninety..he looks great!

  11. Holy Shit Tony. With the $250,000 you’ve poured into the campaign the least you can do is spent a few more $$ on a decent graphic artist. Christ, it looks like the same hack architect that did your buildings is designing your mail. This piece looks like Travis did it on his Mac. Horrible.

  12. Mailer looks good to me. And professional. Clear, prominent and to the point. Too bad there was not enough room to fit in everything, but those things were some of the prime cuts. Nice job!

  13. If you love FFFF for all they have done on behalf for Kelly Thomas and the Recall, like I do, but part ways when they start talking about Chevron having property rights to develop 760 homes in Coyote Hills or have some teabagger slam the art walk because they don’t get it, and their only reference to art is their wife’s Thomas Kinkade magic cottage, and a bad eagle tat on their forearm, then i suggest you vote for:

Jane Rands for seat held by Bankhead
Matt Rowe for seat held by McKinley
Glenn Georgieff for seat held by village idiot Jones

    1. Hold on there, chum. Why would a tea bagger “slam” the art walk? It doesn’t cost the taxpayers anything right? Knock yourself out. And quit stereotyping.

    1. Could be one of those avant-garde artists showing in a Fullerton Art Walk gallery?

      Just a wild guess.

  14. Since last year the people of Fullerton have been aware that something is very wrong in Fullerton. We need to remove these…uh…people from their jobs on the City council then remove the police department. Both of these moves are financially attractive and will produce a more peaceful community for all of us. It is overwhelmingly obvious that former police officers or officials cannot be elected to the City council or any other post that requires lots of public trust.

  15. I know this site as been supportive of Sean Nelson in the past, so this truly a question, not a statement, but what has Sean’s involvement in the Kelly Thomas case been so far? He is at times a criminal defense attorney, he should feel comfortable weighing in. Has he made a statement, called for action, asked for reform and so on? I really do not know.

    1. Shawn Nelson may have had something to do with the OCTA bus video being released to the public last year.

    2. You don’t know? You should. He called in the FBI at the end of July. That single act forced the DAs hand to do a real investigation, and ultimately led to the charges.

      BTW: It’s “Shawn.”

    3. Steve-
There are people (and I personally know several) who don’t particularly want attention for doing the right thing and would rather do ethical good works quietly and humbly rather than make it widely known as to what they have done.

In all honesty, because a person doesn’t make a public statement about the things they have done for a specific person doesn’t mean they havent done anything.

    4. I personally saw and spoke with Shawn Nelson during the Kelly Thomas protests in front of the Fullerton police department headquarters.

Although I had never met Mr. Nelson before that point in time, my impression was that Mr. Nelson was personable, fully engaged, and extremely responsive that day to my concerns about Fullerton’s future.

Shawn Nelson has my admiration that day for standing alongside of us, and he will most definitely have my vote in the future.

  16. Regarding, #47 by Steve Baxter: It was good of you to have people to your home to see 3 of the candidates you liked and umm was Chaffee there too? But in all fairness, you should have asked the rest of the candidates too. The deck was already stacked.
Jane has been at most of the City Council meetings thru the years and is certainly a reasonable person on most of the issues.
Matt is interested in local politics but I think he needs a bit more experience before he is ready for all the council deals with he is still learning about the issues.
Glenn Georgieff while on the Library board was upset that 8 people were there to speak out at one of their meetings and said ” keep your comments short as we do not want to be here all night, well at least I don’t want to be” ..
I do not want to see how he would handle a meeting that would go on well past midnight with 30 or more of the public commenting on items. In my opinion, he is an “insider” and way too close to the City Manager.
Thompsons choices are pretty solid candidates who will hit the ground running and not have to play catch up and who are not “insiders”
