Fullerton: Vote Kiger and Whitaker

Written by Cynthia Ward

Fullerton Councilman Travis Kiger has a new campaign video worth watching, which shows him to be the non-politician everyday guy he really is. He is running to hold the seat gained after the recall  of Council members Jones, Bankhead, and McKinley. 66% of the vote put Kiger into the seat of Dick Jones, whose term ended months later, and Travis  now needs to run as the incumbent to remain on the Council. I do not think he is going to have a problem with challengers, his is an easy win.

The other easy seat is incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Bruce Whitaker, who was elected to City Council in 2010, and was the only Fullerton leader to take an immediate role in trying to get information about the Kelly Thomas beating. His efforts were blocked at every turn by staff in what can only be called insubordination. Whitaker is extremely well liked, and together with his formidable partnership with wife Linda, the couple is a fixture in Fullerton.

    1. Kiger acts like he’s above the law. No front license plate or mud flaps on that Jeep both violations of the vehicle code. Just the tip of the law breaking iceberg I suspect.

      1. And destroying evidence, excessive force under color, filing false medical disability claims, murder are what – misdemeanors – all subject to harsh slaps on the wrists with cooked spaghetti noodle. It’s in the code book – really.

      2. CHP :
Kiger acts like he’s above the law.

Actually, I think he just doesn’t understand the law. After all, sobriety checkpoints are unconstitutional, right? City Council members set the law of the land. Supreme Court has no authority.

        1. CCCB what do you think of checkpoints that utilize backscatter Xray body scanners, distribute forced vaccinations and take DNA samples?

          1. truthseeker :
CCCB what do you think of checkpoints that utilize backscatter Xray body scanners, distribute forced vaccinations and take DNA samples?

Sounds to me like the United Nations concentration camps you think are being secretly set up.

              1. I have no problems with TSA checkpoints, and fully support them. I always choose the body search for a cheap thrill. That’s always an option if you don’t like the scanners.

Forced vaccinations? Could go either way on that. I see both sides of the argument. Me? I’ll choose the vaccinations. I think it’s irresponsible not to, but I’d draw the line at forcing them.

DNA samples for felony arrestees? Hell, yes. Lots of crimes solved that way. I would have no problem with my DNA being in a government law enforcement database. Just like I have no problem with my fingerprints being in there.

        2. Sobriety checkoints are unconstitutional – unless they are appropriately advertised; which means of course that they are inherently inefficient in their purported function. Unless, of course, the real purpose – like getting cops OT and impounding vehicles is the true mission.

          1. Fred you are spot on. The slippery slope they fight for eventually leads to what I described. I guess they don’t care as long as they can stand around and drink coffee for 90-100 bucks an hour and laugh at the cars as they get towed away.

            1. We don’t laugh at the cars or the drivers we arrest. We just feel good that we got them off the road before they killed anyone. Most of the people we arrest are very decent people who made a stupid mistake while their judgement was clouded by alcohol.

              1. CCCB the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I don’t doubt there are those of you who are sworn who operate by the rules. However this is clearly an ineffective strategy at reducing drunk driving as opposed to saturation patrols. I have yet to receive what I requested in the form of a public information request concerning the DUI grant or grants-plural or singular is what I am still seeking clarity on. The precedents continue to be set to take the Country down the slippery slope on a toboggan. Between the Patriot Act, The NDAA, John Warner Defense Authorization Act, the end of Posse Comitatus and a long list of legislation, PDD’s and executive orders this old excuse about giving up our rights for our safety has become utter nonsense and the Constitution has merely become a manuscript under a piece of glass in the Smithsonian. CCCB you and your fellow officers will be faced with major decisions in your lifetime. At the local level in my opinion these checkpoints amount to a misappropriation of scarce public funds to benefit a select few. It also serves to provide Pavlovian training to the masses what would make the Founders of this great Nation turn over in their graves. By the way the camps are not UN facilities. They were built by KBR and Haliburton for FEMA and they even have playground for children.

  1. Cold Chillin Cops Balls:
    Cops like you have balls?

Nice bomb blast Cold Chiller Cop with “Balls”. Enough balls to anonymously post on a blog. That takes great balls.

    Kiger 2012! Whitaker 2012!

    1. CCCB: Judge killing bastard has the same ring. What kind of cop would use such a disgusting name of CCCB? Unless you’re the one who licks the cop balls at FPD.

    2. Peter Sanchez :
Enough balls to anonymously post on a blog. That takes great balls

Yes, almost as much as it takes to post under “Peter Sanchez” with no additional identifying information. Only a few hundred by that name in the state.

      1. What ID info do you need Mr. Ball-less? You want my union ID? Most legit law enforcement personnel I know, don’t bomb blogs with BS statements that reflect poorly on their departments. How about you spend less time on this blog and more time patroling the streets of Fullerton so its tax paying citizens get the value of their tax $$?

        1. “BS”? Please explain the irrelevance of any of my posts.

Also….I don’t work for Fullerton. Nor do I know anybody who currently works there, although I talk to them in public from time to time. And, no, I don’t know anyone from that department past or present ever charged with any sort of crime. You should just consider me a concerned Fullerton resident who happens to be a police officer. Also, it’s relevant for you to know I don’t think/never thought much of McKinley or Sellers.

I’m a Fullerton resident, homeowner, and business owner.

I don’t need to know who you are any more than you need to know my specific name, although I’m curious if you’re a Fullerton resident.

    1. You would RD and who gives a shit about Cythia Ward or her opinion? She doesn’t live in Fullerton and has her own shit pile of city in anaheim to take care of. Blog about that! I don’t understand her constant defending keeger, whittaker and bushala. Did you date one of the older guys in HS

  2. I work for a large defense company. We were all lookin at our health benefits. “CAN WE SAY THEY HAVE TRIPLED FOR 2013”. HOLY SHIT…..Thanks OBama…….

          1. I will be health care poor……And it SUCKS……i guess there’s only one thing to do, “DIE and pay taxes”…..So much for retirement…..

        1. “we know how much you love Greg”……… Hmmmmm

And that is reason #2 because Obama is the only president in the history of the USA (and for long tam will be) who can put end to the Israel’s Zionist expansion and let them self destruct in their early summer attack on Iran.

Israel will end up like 4 Americans in Benghazi.

I can survive 4 years of Obama but Golem can’t.

              1. Only in the sense that I suspended him from Orange Juice Blog — the only time I’ve ever suspended anyone from it. He found his own way here.

                1. I lost my glasses, went to the car, searched the center console and found them, I was inscrutably overwrought — I occupied a walmart today.

          1. You moron mongoloids, you must learn historical realty of the life and without a misery of real socialism you can’t.

FYI, I am planing on giving seminars on how to convert front page of the Time Magazine to toilet paper since next year it will be in grave shortage.

Something I have learn in the real communism.

I give 20% discount to early birds.

            1. quote “Obama is the only president in the history of the USA (and for long tam will be) who can put end to the Israel’s Zionist expansion”

^^^^??? what evidence do you have that suggests this bankster puppet prez will stand up to his masters? the bank drug money laundering is not stopping anytime soon, wall street has not changed one bit.

            2. I can’t tell if you’re in sarcasm mode, but with the way people in OC throw around the word Socialism, you would think they knew what it meant. Socialism is Communism with its claws retracted. I saw that walking through Checkpoint Charlie in 1983.

              1. “Checkpoint Charlie in 1983″……….. Hmmmmmm

In 1983 it was fairly civilized. I was there in 1967 checking out if I can bust through the Iron curtain there. After my investigation I have sobered out with my plans to do that there.

Be patient!…. it must play out in the real time.

Just imagine that the entire communist block failed because of the chewing gum, rock n’ roll and blue jeans prohibition.

Enjoy upcoming crises and observe the moron mongoloids who voted for socialism hitting them right into their ass.

  3. I refuse to vote for anyone who’s campaign is funded by a developer. Fullerton has had enough of this in the past years, but you all will never learn.

As an FYI-This blog is owned by fascist!

  4. Wow. $1.5 million propaganda campaign, every local shill and paid lackey on the payroll, sleazy complicity of the council majority and still Measure W looks to be headed for crushing defeat.

  5. Bruce and travis vs jan and rick, with jennifer to always decide. Is tgat what were gunna get.

    Ps

Fuck chevron : ) good work

  6. What Obama inherited: What we have now:
AAA Credit Rating AA Credit Rating
    7.8% Unemployment 8.3% Unemployment
    $1.81 Gas/Gallon $3.69 Gas/Gallon
10 Trillion Debt 15+ Trillion Debt
    2 Wars 3 Wars
26 Weeks unemployment 99 Weeks unemployment
    Annual Budget No Budget

    1. Buisnesses and Corporations look out about a year ahead, at least, Hillary and Obamas eventual win started the decline early 2008, those numbers dont tell the whole picture. Wall street fell really hard when Obama talked down the economy as a nominee in late 2008, and when he moved to nationalize the banks early in his presidency.

Its a lot worse than the numbers say from January 2009, Bush was very Progressive too. (So is Greg Diamond)

House will stays republican, THANK GOD!!!.

    2. Dear 4 more… The President doesn’t:
      control the price of gas
our credit rating (point to congress fo that one)
also-2 wars to 3 wars, where’s the third war?

      Things he did do
pushed through national health care (very imperfect but a start)
ended US military presence in Iraq
saved GM — and a lot of good jobs

      1. “Hope you find someplace where Obama isn’t the President”……. Hmmmmmm

        Forget Obama think IRS!

Unlike the rest of civilized countries, as long as you are USA citizen you must file and pay your income tax no mater where in the world, including our galaxy, you live.

The only way to freedom is to gave up your USA citizenship.

So the IRS is now the most powerful communist power.

          1. You do not understand!

Your USA tax obligation is a function of your citizenship not your residency.

As a US citizen you must file even if you live on the Moon.

So you are not as free as you may think!

        1. Not precisely true. I have lived outside the USA for years. There is an exemption for foreign earned income of ~$90K USD. Yes, you do have to file tax returns but if you have US income as well (I did) that was going to happen anyway.

    1. Fitzgerald is an opportunist and fixer. see CWLA a Political Action Group. I believe Spouse is a Lobbyist like Akerman…..

  7. I guess cleaning up those people’s yards didn’t work danny boy!!! Maybe you should of cleaned up ur PD first!!!!

  8. The value of the USA democracy may be “0”

    STATE SENATOR 29th District
    Completed Precincts: 49 of 421
    Vote Count Percentage
    ROBERT “BOB” HUFF 46,327 60.9%
    GREG DIAMOND 29,684 39.1%

So far 29,684 moron mongoloids voted for Golem.

      1. “but 46,327 didn’t”…….. Hmmmmm

So you live in a country where virtually every second person is retard ad has right to vote.

The voting should be IQ based privilege not a right.

  9. Stanley Fiala :
The value of the USA democracy may be “0″

    GREG DIAMOND 29,684 39.1%
So far 29,684 moron mongoloids voted for Golem.

This whole race was a scam by diamond. He just did it to raise as much money as he could to buy hotdogs from costco.
He raised over 10 grand, and prob didn’t spend a dime of it on his campaign.

      1. A classical Jew? You Stanley are a piece of bigoted shit. On the list of things that you could have criticized Diamond for that’s what you came up with? You are pathetic. Admin should remove your post.

            1. As long as Jews can have JDL, Mexicans LA RAZA and blacks the BLACK PANTHERS, I can have my WHITE POWER!…… can I?

You are moron mongoloid Baxter destroying your race.

                1. “you’re a mid east russian sack of shit”…….. Hmmmmm

FYI, you uneducated moron mongoloid the “mid east” is not the Europe or Russia.

The white race aka Caucasian race originates in (Caucasus – Kavkas – Kavkasians) from where the most “Caucasian” people of all the Caucasians come from.

I am not surprised that US elections are such a failure if an idiot like you can vote.

So I am Caucasian from the Bohemia.

        1. Oh, Bax — is this your first Fiala encounter? Why do you think he’s not at OJB? (Well, we currently let him in when he’s not in the mode you see here.)

  10. Thank BLANKEN GOD!!!

Not until the fat lady sings!

The election is not over until certified by the Secretary of State. That may be 2 to 3 weeks.

There may be a recount since we are talking about 76 votes.

  11. All the money these corrupt cops and union lovers threw against Bruce and Travis, they prevail. How does it feel to know your days of city budget busting pensions and overtime are officially OVER!!!!

    SUCK IT!

    Tony Bushala is the MAN!

    1. Was the FPOA invested in Fitz? What do we know about her other than the creative hair streaks?

I’d pay a small fortune to switch her out for Rands or Levinson, but I’ll take it Fullerton.

        1. Thanks for the info. Much better than (some of) the alternatives.

Voice of Fullerton was heard tonight. Just like October 16th. You can’t bully the people, FPOA. Backfired again.

Looking forward to seeing Kiger and Whitaker up there next meeting. Now, let’s start reforming the police department! For reals this time!

            1. I was not aware of this, but wasn’t expecting much from her anyways, to be honest.

Is it true that she was pro OCSD bid?

She is pro Danny, so that’s not adding up for me.

        2. So if Kiger gets in, can we discuss the option of an OCSD bid again or is that a done deal? I prefer to keep a cleaned up FPD but have no faith that Danny can do that.

  12. I’m gonna go leave a bottle of gin at Flory’s place.

Well done fullerton. Not big on Fitzgerald but at least you kept the two decent ones in.

So happy Kiger pulled through. And equally that Flory failed.

    1. I really don’t think Fitzgerald is bad like some people think.

The biggest victory is the defeat of Jan Flory. Remember that.

  13. The bad news of the evening is that Sharon Quirk-Silva beat Chris Norby.

That’s hard to believe on so many levels.

      1. She got her ass kicked in the primary election. And then refused to debate Chris Norby.

She’ll fit right in with the rest of the incompetent goons in Sacramento.

    1. Heartbreaking news. He kicked her teeth in during the summer primary and to see Fullerton and NOC voters elect Quirk into office is mindnumbing.

  14. Congratulations to Bruce and Travis. What a great evening for the residents of this great city. The tireless and selfless efforts of all involved on the right side of things have finally been rewarded with real continued leadership that will work in the best interests and safety of the community at large and not the self interests of an obsolete monopoly. The City government exists to serve the taxpayers and residents not the other way around. Our re-elected leaders get it.

      1. yes, the time he spent to ensure fullerton didn’t backslide is very appreciated. Glad he exists! If for no other reason than how delicious FPOA tears taste.

        Didn’t 32 pass as well?

  15. We may have jumped the gun on Kiger/Flory. All precincts are counted, but not necessarily the paper ballots or the VBM ballots dropped off at the precincts today.

    1. Daily Titan called it, Twitter???

      Daily Titan News ‏@dtnewsdesk
New Fullerton City Council members are Bruce Whitaker, Jennifer Fitzgerald and Travis Kiger. Jan M. Flory lost a seat by 76 votes.

      1. Lots of people have “called” it, but the Registrar of Voters says on their own website not all votes have been counted.

          1. Posted: Wednesday, November 7, 2012 1:29 am | Updated: 1:36 am, Wed Nov 7, 2012.

“Orange County Registrar of Voters Neal Kelly said in a telephone interview it shouldn’t take too long to count the remaining absentee ballots. He said all of those received before Tuesday already have been counted. An additional 25,000 arrived in the mail Tuesday and an unknown number were dropped off at polling places.
“For the first time, we were completely caught up with all of our vote-by-mail ballots this morning,” he said Tuesday night. “There’s not a lot left to count.” -voiceofoc.org

      1. greg takes donations, greg don’t spend donations on campaign. greg does buy 10,000 hotdogs at costco, oh and few rolls of tp.
        THAT’S HOW ELECTIONS WORK

  16. Tuesday, November 6th – 1:00 a.m. – eighth unofficial results from polling places
(and tentative last update for the evening)

Wednesday, November 7th – 5:00 p.m. first post Election Night unofficial results from additional vote-by-mail ballots, paper ballots and provisionals cast at the polling places

Updates will continue each weekday by 5:00 p.m. during the canvass period until the last official results are posted.

  17. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the living creatures of the earth.

    1. Are you ascribed to a dispensational, pre-millenial, post-millenial or amillenial eschatological perspective?

  18. Thank you to all who cared enough to participate in our future. it feels like were headed in the right direction

    1. I’m kind of blonde, can you explain to me what that means exactly? No jokes. I get a Norby loss is bad for Whitaker but not the details of why.

  19. Hey everyone – OC Vote.com says Travis won, but the Register has Flory listed in 3rd place. Ugh! Travis is not even listed in the paper this morning. What the heck is going on? Someone – please explain! Thank you.

      1. Thanks, but doesn’t anyone find it really odd that all the candidates that ran for council are listed in the Register with the # of votes they received and Travis is completely omitted? His name is not listed anywhere except to identify his image on page 7! It’s so bizarre to me.

SO … did Travis win? I am sure hoping so!

        1. He’s ahead right now, but not yet. Provisional ballots haven’t been counted, and it’s nail bitingly close!

          1. Where can I go to track the votes? Where are you getting your info? Why isnt the administrator posting this info – we need to be informed!
            Thanks again!

          1. Thank you, Chris. That was helpful! I’m so glad Travis won … Thank you Fullerton voters!

However, I am most curious about the profile of the population that voted for Jennifer (because she actually had more votes than Travis). I would have thought Bruce and Travis would have taken the top two positions.

            Any insight and analysis, folks?

In our household, we feel like screaming from the mountain top – in celebration that Flory did not get a seat!

            1. Fitzgerald is a chamber member, is very involved at EV Free and I personally think did some great communications materials for this campaign. Whether you like it or not, Fullerton is a conservative Republican community, and they obviously came out en masse for her.

              1. She was a stealth candidate. Nobody ran any hit pieces against her; she had no name recognition, and her church came out for her.

                On the downside, she sucks.

                Watch her carefully.

            2. All of the following contributed to Jennifer’s active support as well as her ultimately succeeding in earning a 3rd vote from many people. Pros with Jennifer are that she is intelligent, articulate and pleasant to be around. Cons are that she opposed the recall and is close with people like Dick Ackerman whom I believe to be motivated primarily by personal, financial gain. She has a long history with the Chamber of Commerce in Fullerton (it’s former President I believe) and also has been active as a political fundraiser for Republican candidates. In those roles, she has quietly built a significant number of relationships both around town and in the party and this was the first time that she was able to capitalize on those relationships in a campaign for herself. Being a member at the very large EV Free Church didn’t hurt either. Additionally, Gary Graves was her campaign manager, and while I have mixed feeling about his political acumen in its totality, he seems to be pretty good at branding and has many Fullerton successes to his credit. Jennifer obviously built a pretty good brand in a short time and connected with the voters. In speaking to Gary last night, they did more than I was aware of. More mail than I realized, robocalls that I was unaware of and she was on a number of slates with Travis and Bruce (they were on virtually everything).

A couple of non-political women who I am close with voted for her simply because they liked how she spoke and liked what her mail had to say. Also, Jennifer was left alone in terms of being the only known “player” in the race who did not get politically hit. Personally, I will be honest enough to say that I let her know that I was quietly hoping for her victory, but that I could not vote for her as Travis was my #1 concern in that race and as evidenced by the result, I considered her a viable threat to his re-election.

I’ve told Jennifer this, but I have a huge watch out for her relationships and concern for being disliked over-ruling her wisdom. I worry about Sebourn with that sometimes.

I reserve my right to change my opinion, but I’m glad she’s there, although she certainly brings her own base which I hope does more to make her independent than to allow her to be self-serving.

As I side note, I was very concerned by her comments related to DUI checkpoints. Not so much her position as her absence of any real political philosophy there. I suspect that was a purely political statement, but one that I particularly did not like. I know that she is smart enough to understand the issues surrounding DUI checkpoints.

              1. She is very pro Hughes. Does that mean we can’t expect much from her as far as real police reform?

              2. Wow! Go figure the day of the election and the day after we hear from Chris. Did TB unlock the closet? Do you finally have his permission to speak?

Chris, you think very highly of yourself. Nobody gives a rats ass about your opinion.

Get back up to Beechwood and make sure that parking lot is safe at night.

                1. Sitting in a school parking lot at night watching teenagers having sex. Come on Chris, really?

                2. So as a School Board Member we expect Chris Thompson to ignore occupied vehicles that are sitting in a school parking lot at night?

How many times do we as residents here about our schools being broken into at night and all of the high technology gear was stolen and our kids left without?

              3. Thanks for the political insight Chris.

I think that your pretty spot on in your assessment of Jennifer’s political allegiance.

My observation is that most Chamber of Commerce members have been blinded by their allegiance to the FPD, and have never given the residents anything but lip service when it came time to reform the FPD, always maintaining that the FPD is above reproach.

My sincere hope is that Jennifer Cowan Fitzgerald is different than the rest and will take the urgent need for reformation and citizen oversight of the FPD more responsibly than the cheerleaders at the Chamber of Commerce have in the past.

                1. sorry, but citizen oversight is a toothless tiger. we need a strong legal intervention by the fed courts.

        1. I’m shocked he lost. I guess Squirks political consultant knew exactly what he was doing. Hide her and use her name. Amazing. What a sales job. Impressive.

          1. Cop Logic, you’re right…consultants get paid because they are suppose to know how to get politicians (smart ones and dumb ones alike) elected.

Even though the unions poured in hundreds of thousands to help Quirk whack Norby, Norby’s crappy mailers made it possible for Quirk to appear to be intelligent in the eyes of the voters.

            1. Yep. John Lewis screwed Norby. No wait. Norby screwed himself. Despite a massive pension he will still need a job to support all those kids.

        1. Anonymous: If I could talk to your kids, I would tell them that you’re a corrupt cop who will be unemployed very soon. You’re no role model for them.

Everyone here knows you’re a troll, and don’t believe a word you say. If you’re gonna attack me, try something with some truth behind it.

  20. Good news for the good people of fullerton. last night heralds a better fullerton. a city not owned by its municipal public servants, miscreant city council persons(Bankhead,Jones and McKinley) and miscreant sycophants who jump for joy at the money/perk crumbs thrown to them by our past miscrant city council.
Jan flory go lick your wounds and let the good people of fullerton alone.
Sorry Jane Rands, better luck next time. Your past associations may have tainted your reputation.
Reform of fullerton through restoration of representative government.
for all those politicians who tossed around “main street” as a way of identifying with us little people who subsidize via our tax dollars the politicians who soon forget we are the people and view us as nothing more than cash cows, fullerton is “main street” ground zero for restoring our republic.

    1. Dear Van – Jane lacked a base. Jennifer had a a big chunk of EV Free Church voting for her. Jennifer is even more ‘tainted’.

  21. Wow. Squirk Silva won. Amazing. Tony could have ended her career but missed so bad she is now the big cheese. Pretty cool. Did Chief Dan get elected too? Lol

      1. Danny was never up for election. It is a position decided by the council. I am hopeful this council will not just hand it to him. The next decision will be whether or not to see other applicants. Chaffee and Fitz will be against it, the other three should be for it, assuming we get to keep Travis and that Greg Sebourn supports it

          1. We <3 police reform.

            All the way.

Until there is zero corruption and whistle-blowing is not only an option, but encouraged.

Clean it up fast Danny, or step aside for someone who will.

        1. “The next decision will be whether or not to see other applicants.”

No, that decision was made quite some time ago. It will not return to an agenda. And if it does it will be Felz’s last official act.

          1. Details please? I have been under the impression that the alternative to having Danny shoved down our throats was the option to accept other applicants.

              1. Council needs to decide if they want their own PD before deciding on a Chief. If they decide they want their own PD they will get great Chief interest from great outside applicants. If they look now without deciding on their own PD or OCSD, they will get no interest or garbage interest. Why would anyone wants job that could be gone in a year or so. Keep your own PD and hire a good outside Captain or Chief. Look to the future and move that direction.

              2. Can you give me any more details on this?

Is it an existing policy for the council to have open recruitment or is this something that was decided this past year?

I know Chaffee and likely SQS were trying to push past that to enter into negotiations with Danny but I was not aware that it is fullerton’s policy to accept and review applicants before selecting a chief.

                1. I’ve been spending some time on this.

It’s complicated, but yes– there’s a policy on the books that requires open recruitment for any department head; however, with the move of the CoP’s hiring from the city manager to the city council, it’s not as clear if the policy applies. Precedence would dictate that it would, but that doesn’t mean that it does.

That said, take a look and the Fullerton Police handbook under recruitment. Pretty much states “no preferred candidates”. I thought that was interesting.

  22. So, now that W has bee crushed, will the honorable council members do what they said about honoring the will of the voters, or will they try to thwart it? After all, the will of the voters was to put you back into office (in some cases, just barely) so you might think about deferring to it.

Chevron is already spinning it’s fallback position “we don’t know what voting no on W means” which is of course, 100% prime bullshit, since you don’t spend 1.5M on a campaign if you don’t know what’s at stake. Will Bruce and Travis and the Chamber of Commerce Queen now start pretending this is true?

I am so disgusted with pretty much every one of these guys, get a fucking conscience.

    1. I think it’s important to spell out what “No on W” means. I’ve followed it and I’m not even sure. I could be wrong, and please don’t slag me off, it’s not an opinion, I need some clarification. OCTA wants to give Fullerton 24 million to buy the Coyote Hills land in question in the name of traffic mitigation. Chevron, as I understand, wants 34-35 million for the property which is basically a “poison pill” to stop the people of Fullerton. That’s 10-11 million that Fullerton will have to come up with to complete the purchase and that doesn’t even stick a shovel in the ground yet. To the “No on W” crowd: Where does that leave Fullerton?

    2. I know what voting NO on W means. Simply put, it means just what it indicates, NO. We don’t want this wonderful gift that Chevron wanted to bestow on our city. No more housing complexes that will stress our infrastructure in Fullerton.

I as well hope that Mr. Kiger and Mr. Whitaker will do what they said about honoring the wishes of their constituents. As far as Chevron is concerned, this is not over for them. They feel they are above the law and more importantly, the electorate whom they view as little more than a nuisance in their quest for even higher profits. They are not going quietly into the night.

Get ready for the continuing fight………

      1. I hope that when “property rights” aka. rezoning comes up against direct democracy, direct democracy wins.

And I think that will be the case.

In any case, huge congrats to Bruce and Travis!

      2. Nobody wants to throw a number out there I see. Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die…

Either people have no idea, or they don’t want to talk about it.

        1. You put forth a bunch of numbers but I don’t remember you asking for any. Ryan Cantor’s piece has lots of numbers.

Right now the only number that’s certain is that Chevron will find it easier to get a majority of 5 clowncil members to roll over than it would be to get a majority of actual voters to do so.

          1. I didn’t ask directly, sorry. I should have been clearer. I feel that OCTA Measure M mitigation funds should be directly spent on transport projects and not land purchases to poison-pill development. That wasn’t the “spirit” of Measure M and now with the redevelopment agencies gone, I think the definition of “mitigation” is going to be twisted to oblivion.

  23. I wonder how long FPD Detective Ron Bair beat his head against the wall after he learned Bruce Whitaker was the top vote getter?

    1. Ron Bair – AKA Texting Cry Wolf – now looks small. Well, smaller if that is possible. Fullerton PD will never be on the right track until crookie cops like him go away into the night. Hope he beat some sense into his head. Scum.

      1. Just think that up until a year or two ago, “Detective” Ronald Bair was a full-time “School Resource Officer” at Sunny Hills High School.

Why do we need a $200,000.00 a year police officer with the intelligence of a hamster patrolling the halls of a high school known for outstanding academic achievement?

I’m 99% sure that the money that was allocated to pay Detective Bair’s salary was somehow diverted from funds that would’ve helped reduce the class sizes at Sunny Hills, which are currently at 38-40 children per classroom.

  24. There’s much more involved than that in any transaction that could happen between Chevron and the City (for example, Chevron’s remediation obligations) but don’t confuse the details of a possible settlement with the intent of the measure.

Measure W was the result of a referendum sponsored by Save Coyote Hills. The intent is not in question, any more than Chevron’s intent in having W passed was in question.

    1. It just smacks of “Great Park.” I’d rather see Irvine drown than Fullerton. Thank you for the clarification!

  25. SHIMON MENDEL :
    Dear 4 more… The President doesn’t:
    control the price of gas
our credit rating (point to congress fo that one)
also-2 wars to 3 wars, where’s the third war?
    Things he did do
pushed through national health care (very imperfect but a start)
ended US military presence in Iraq
saved GM — and a lot of good jobs

The Obama machine is a desperate power grab, undeniably.

Oil down 4.59% today, a barometer and leading indicator.

Economic storm is brewing, S and P downgrade threat, inflation, election disappointed market, “the little guy is the one who suffers”

GM was an overt Union Giveaway.

      1. Not for the future of the markets and economy, there are other reasons too, but a storm is brewing!!! Markets sharply lower without much change in the value of the dollar.

When the future means more activity, oil will be in higher demand and prices go up.

          1. But he is hanging with Jay Z and Beyonce and his wife has a crush on George Clooney…… that more than makes up for being a lame president …. Will Smith is his homeboy.

  26. I am depressed as a Californian today, but happier than heck to live in Fullerton!

    Congrats Travis, Bruce and Jennifer!

I am bummed that it looks like SSSSSurname SSSSSSSilva beat Norby but I will take her exit from Fullerton and be happy with that.

    Adios Amiga!

        1. Actually, I was feeling pretty pleased today. I’m thrilled about SQS’s win and I still think that Flory beats Kiger when all of the ballots are counted.

          1. Greg thank you for supporting another fly over democratic hack that will aid and abet the super majority job killing machine in Sacramento. Even a very large local church pastor mentioned her name last Sunday with a twinkle in his eye which actually came as no surprise to me. Lets face it Greg-you are right. Californians cannot think for themselves, feed, house or support ourselves or our children anymore. Thank you Greg for helping us come to the point in the republic of California where the masses will continue to vote for largess from the treasury at the expense of the industrious wealth creators and hard working taxpayers. I love tax increases especially on those that create all of the private sector employment. I was thrilled with Sharon’s list of supporters like planned parenthood who loves our young girls, Dr. Pan who has the hots for our bloodstream with his vaccine bill, and the CTA who so endearingly loves to play chess with our childrens on their game board. Without these wonderful supporters what would the 97% do? Sterility is pleasing, thimerisol, added hormones and adjuvants so stimulating, and the deliberate dumbing down of our children is so highly esteemed by all with test scores going up and IQs tanking. Greg I totally agree with you.The government needs more of our money. They will truly solve all of our problems with taxation, wealth redistribution, vaccines, wars and the desired end result for all-enslavement through poverty. This Republic has been traded in for a Democracy with high miles and no warranty and people like Greg Diamond and his ilk are the not so slick late night lot salesmen that help pen the deal. Fortunately I speak with complete sarcasm in the aforementioned but do assign blame to the mindless idiots that will sell their souls to climb the ladder into the abyss.

      1. “The pacifist Obama will not go into a war for any reason! Even to defend its own!”

Ha, someone else just accused him of starting an extra war. Gotta love it.

I don’t even like Obama but, how does it go, an enemy of my enemy…

  27. Why All Politicians Lie
    It’s a job qualification.
    Ronald Bailey | November 6, 2012
    http://reason.com/archives/2012/11/06/why-all-politicians-lie

“Whoever gets elected president today is an accomplished liar. Lying, along with a capacity for backbiting, obfuscation, and double-dealing, are, in fact, actual job qualifications for politicians according to some deep political thinkers….”

“…Since dishonesty is inherent in electoral politics, perhaps some day disgusted voters will revolt and rein in the size and scope of government. Until that happy day, the only recourse of an appalled citizenry is to throw the current crop of scoundrels out when their lying, obfuscation, and double-dealing become too egregious…” Reason.com

    1. 5:00 PM today

CITY OF FULLERTON Member, City Council
      Number To Vote For: 3
      Completed Precincts: 88 of 88
      Vote Count Percentage
      BRUCE WHITAKER 12,547 14.0%
      JENNIFER FITZGERALD 12,365 13.8%
      TRAVIS KIGER 10,503 11.7%
      JAN M. FLORY 10,389 11.6%

  28. How many more votes could they have to count? At what point do we get to feel confident the results will be final?

I am scared to mock Flory too hard until I know for sure.

  29. shes now over a hundred votes behind. for her to have a chance they would have to count 500 more ballots which doesn’t seem likely.

    1. No, they would have to count 10,000. Her distance from Travis is too small, basically – .1%, or 1 vote in a hundred between the two of them. And of course each incremental vote would have too go her way.

Unless there’s some forgotten precinct up on BooHoo Hill that was too senile to turn in their ballots.

  30. theres no doubt about it now, it surely is an… Obama-nation.
….Stock market tanked today… I wonder if people overseas can see the obvious which we seem to be missing. With Quirk-Silva and others now representing our state in Sacramento they are we are only two shy from legislature having complete control at the 2/3’s needed to overide or block to legislation which would curb the raising of taxes or spending more money. Giving back some of our basic freedoms was nice to see at the local level with the fireworks measure. Thinking of the 800 dollor penalty I will have to pay for not having health insurance makes me feel sick. Why should I have to pay for everybodys coverage when I save up for my own.

    1. “Thinking of the 800 dollor penalty I will have to pay for not having health insurance makes me feel sick. Why should I have to pay for everybodys coverage when I save up for my own.”

      Try saving up for insurance.

  31. Flory will win. The master of Fullerton PD, Andrew Goodwrench says so! He can lie better than any politician. In fact, I see early disability retirement for him from too many of Greg Diamond’s Costco hot dogs and running for city council just like his mentors Don Blankhead and Pat McPublicPension! Keep up the good work Andy!

  32. Heard through the grapevine that Pat McKinley showed up at Flory’s victory party last night and proclaimed Jan would receive the HIGHEST number of votes.

Why? Because according to Pat, she has broad bipartisan support. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Stanley Fiala :
“you’re a mid east russian sack of shit”…….. Hmmmmm
FYI, you uneducated moron mongoloid the “mid east” is not the Europe or Russia.
The white race aka Caucasian race originates in (Caucasus – Kavkas – Kavkasians) from where the most “Caucasian” people of all the Caucasians come from.
I am not surprised that US elections are such a failure if an idiot like you can vote.
So I am Caucasian from the Bohemia.

no you are dirty russian from krygzstan.

    1. Nah, he’s an aryan supremacist from an area (Bohemia) of the country formerly known as Czechoslovakia and now (after political separation) a major part of the current Czech Republic – please don’t insult Russians or anyone from their former colonies… I believe Bohemia is also the home of Pilsner (sp?) beer – which he may have been imbibing far too frequently.

Just wondering why his surname sounds Italian…

      1. “Nah, he’s an aryan supremacist from an area (Bohemia)”……… Hmmmmm

        Interesting left liberal racism.

I am proud to be an aryan, that is if you really understand meaning of aryan and not thinking of Jewish propaganda butchered and offensive meaning.

I like to play chess and all kind of strategies of that game like sacrifice bishop for a quine to win.

That is why I have promoted Obama over Romney to win.

The victory in chess game is mainly based on seeing a mistake of your opponent before he does.

So when the left liberals are tripping all over themselves to have such a low IQ high charisma cool clown Obama as their leader and I see their mistake before they do, I get adrenalin rush and euphoria.

I get satisfaction when people get hurt by their own stupidity while refusing an advise.

It would be meaningless to show to blind person which way to go by pointing a finger in that direction as it is meaningless to show to left liberal that his ideology is wrong even though that there are millions of the historical examples for him to see.

Same as religion, the left liberal socialism is an opium of masses and you can’t ask junky to take that needle out of his vein.

So I am exited to observe soon you left liberal morn mongoloids to live your next 4 years in a misery and you Zionists stepping a deep shit hoping that the cool US leader, elected by your Jewish brothers in US, will gave you more than could shoulder.

Obama’s advise: “Vote for the revenge!”

        1. Way to stay on topic, Goebbels. Some of us came here to read about local politics.

If you want to rant about chess and racism, there are all kinds of forums for crazy people on the internet.

          1. Stanley is a rabid Jew-hating freak with a thing for Greg Diamond. He was apparently banned here once before and looks like he’s well on his way to being banned again. Besides his insanity and poor grasp of the English language, he is unfunny and ignorant. Greg Diamond seemed to bring him here with him, if only there was some way he could take him away with them. Its like Tweedledum and Tweedledee but one is psychotic while the other is merely unremittingly neurotic.

            1. “…but one is psychotic while the other is merely unremittingly neurotic.”

Nice summation. We could probably get Dime Bag help from Dr. Rheinhold Ott, but he has no money to pay the bill.

          1. Stanley is a lot better read than some of the Police Officers who post on here. Stanley gets a pass, he grew up socialist. The FPOA on the other hand knowingly and willfully resorts to the Stalin/Beria/Dzerzhinsky playbook.

Most don’t get Stanley’s humor. I happened to live in Prague from 2005-2007 working for a company called AAA Auto. They are kind of like the CarMax of Central Europe. I got a chance to immerse in that culture. Half the country has Stanley’s sense of humor, and it can be pretty funny. As far as anti-semitism goes, I’m more worried about the Middle East right now.

I happen to like a lot of sarcasm with my humor.

            1. Except Stanley’s posts are clearly racist and anti-Semetic. Nobody should get a pass on that. Clearly the portion of his posts intended to be sarcastic and humorous are not the portions that people are complaining about. I “get” his intent just fine. It’s malicious and hateful.

Nobody should “get a pass” on racism, regardless of their upbringing. Nobody should defend his racism. It’s his First Amendment right to assert is idiotic views here, but it’s disturbing that anyone would try to defend him on it or justify it in any way, shape, or form.

                1. He’s not a Nazi and don’t think for a second that the Nazi’s cornered the market on antisemitism. They exploited antisemitism that already existed.

                2. Well, we’re gonna have to agree to disagree. He’s a Nazi for plenty of reasons– the least of which is the damn red arm band he wears.

              1. Everybody has good and bad in them. CCCB, you had to have been over there to understand. It’s pretty difficult to un-do 1500+ years of thinking. BTW, I think that the un-spoken American WASP-branded, “I don’t want a Jew in my Country Club,” antisemitism is way more insidious than Stanley Fiala waxing nostalgically about the days of the Pogroms.

CCCB, you should know that we are actually headed towards the Soviet-brand of Socialism, not the Fox News pundit brand of Socialism.

                1. No, it’s not hard to undo that way of thinking.

My father would be considered a Jew hating, nigger hating, fag hating, (all his words, BTW) all minority hating, intolerant Fox News addicted bigot that used to be pretty common in OC, and to a certain extent still is with the elderly. With time I grew to realize just how messed up his thinking was, and yet I was able to overcome what used to be ingrained racism as a result of indoctrination by my father.

There’s just no excuse for it. It’s that way of thinking, as well as the failure of the meek to call people out on it, that fuels so much of the fringe right wing who would like to see black people banished from the country, all “Mexicans” returned to Mexico, the creation of a “white state” for the true proper “superior race”, etc., and also fosters the formation of homegrown nationalist terrorists like Timothy McVeigh.

Fuck racism, and fuck all the people who stay quiet about it. And, yes, I’m a white male raised in what used to be a homogenously white OC.

        2. I am not a card carrying leftist and as a matter of fact I don’t buy into the false left right paradigm. It is either freedom or slavery. To divide and conquer via racism and class warfare is merely a means to an end for the control freaks. You should know that. Racism is not in our DNA. The ability to differentiate between races and species is a cognitive function. Hate is innate in all that have been blinded by lucifer. We all have red and blue blood depending upon the oxygen content and 75000 miles of circulatory system that transports the plasma around our bodies in the same fashion. Europe is replete with the relics of failed attempts to subjugate the masses by appealing to barbaric tendencies deeply rooted in occultism. The light is there if you care to gaze into it. We are all created in God’s image Stanley. Continued emanation of vitriol releases bad endorphins that will exacerbate the chronic metabolic deficiencies of nitrilosides in your diet that lead to carcinomas. It is all preventable. Take a deep breath and relax. It is never too late to do the right thing.

      2. How about hitting button on the Peaches, all these Onanymous and Gonzo the Esq.?

        O’ No!

The reverse racism is OK!…….. Huh?

These bolshevik pigs are good for the society.

  34. ….they say Romney lost because although he played it safe.He had the momentem toward the end of his campain but he didn’t adress any controversial subjects riding on the success of his first debate.
The reasons our recall candidates did get elected again is because they did not play it safe. They took the risky moves. Puting measure for fireworks the first thing on the city agenda was a risky move as it .Asking for a sherriff department survey for a cost comparison was a risky move. Sending funds back to the state that would not be wisely used for the purpose it was intended for. All these moves could be easily misconstrued to the public to appear in a complete differnet way than it was orriginaly intended. The voter appreciates that they think for themselves and are not puppets. The voter saw and voted for character this time and not fake appearance or posturing.

  35. R.D. :
CCCB: Judge killing bastard has the same ring. What kind of cop would use such a disgusting name of CCCB? Unless you’re the one who licks the cop balls at FPD.

I’ve asked you before, RD. What is so disgusting/offensive about my chosen screen name? I’d honestly like an explanation from you.

    1. Also, I don’t get the “judge killing bastard” comment, either. Just sayin…..you make no sense.

      1. CCCB: Everyone but your understands. Only a bad cop would use a name like that. Are there any good cops left at FPD? None of them post here. Only the bad ones.

      2. Cop with a Bachelor’s degree schooling a blog comment about not making sense. How about you put your degree to good use: SOLVE CRIMES??? Not correct grammar like a douche!!!!

        1. There’s a difference between correcting grammar and trying to make sense of the ravings of a lunatic.

  36. Greg Diamond :

  38. Government is a broker in pillage…and every election is a sort of advance auction in stolen goods. — H.L. Mencken

  39. Why does it have to be so close! Glad Kiger is ahead but it being only 106 votes and over 8k left to go doesn’t make it easy.

  40. What was on channel 9 about Fullerton Police tonight? About 2 hrs ago, but missed it, just caught a sight of it.

Also, some or all three officers are back on the streets or is that just trolling?

    1. More FPD drama: Twins that got away last week, burglarized a home and were wanted by FPD. FPD said: “Turn yourselves in before someone get hurt”. Hopefully, they’re not confronted by 6 cops.

      1. I believe that happened this week – not last week; my cousin lives about 3 blocks from the home where a family was held hostage for several hours and called to tell me not to come visit for lunch as planned

  41. So now that Kiger and Whittaker have been elected are they going to finish taking out “the trash” in Fullerton? I just want to know if it’s going to be a safe place to get pulled over if I ever drive through there.

  42. Greg Diamond :
Oh, Bax — is this your first Fiala encounter? Why do you think he’s not at OJB? (Well, we currently let him in when he’s not in the mode you see here.)

Notwithstanding the above Golem’s crapola, the main reason why I am not at the OJB is because I have learn that the owner of the OJB Vern Nelson aka Gröfaz is convicted felon!

Furthermore, I have learned that the Esq. Greg Diamond aka Golem is aiding and abetting convicted felon Gröfaz, to terrorize neighborhoods by occupying and vandalizing it, where some occupiers actually shitting on the vehicles as seen on many videos in front of children.

Therefore, I have put myself into a voluntary Exile from the OJB because a combination of a lawyer and convicted felon, both bolshevik’s and left liberal extremists, is bad news for anyone to associate with — including me.

Occasionally, I do comment at OJB under the pseudonym “From The Exile” when their national socialist (NAZI) anti-gentile hate speech becomes too offensive.

So now you know the rest of the story.

  43. Cold Chillin’ Cops Balls :No, it’s not hard to undo that way of thinking.

That is refreshing to hear…I don’t think you are a bad cop, I think many times your tongue is planted firmly in your cheek.

    1. Yes, sometimes it is, but usually there’s a point to my posts.

Clearly racism is a subject I am passionate about and have no tolerance for. Nothing whatsoever in that post that I wasn’t 100% serious about.

Racism and hate exists to some extent in all races and it’s just stupid and infuriating.

      1. Racism is also a balkanization tool widely utilized throughout history by elitists to take the populations’ eyes off of the ball as they close the walls in on them. No different here in 21st century Amerika with the exception of the news outlets, idiot box, and talk radio all spewing the crap 24/7 all run by 5 corporations. It is a shame that people fall for it. They try to make it funny with Archie Bunker and 35 years later it still isn’t funny.

        1. “They try to make it funny with Archie Bunker and 35 years later it still isn’t funny”………. Hmmmmm

What an idiotic leftist crapola truthseeker!….. racism shouldn’t be funny!

Racism is essential genetic element for a survive of a race.

Once your race loses that call it will extinguish it self as it was the case many time in the history of the world. Many races extinguish like the first Mayas.

Racism is genetically embedded in us and it is a part of the DNA structure. That is why different races look differently, so they can identify an enemy to kill.

Same as you are willing to fight for your country, as an extended race colony, you are essentially fighting for your race. If your country will become corrupted by other race which will start dominate the country, the country will resort to an ethic cleansing. It happens everyday around the world and it goes mostly unreported.

The USA was an exception to that rule by way of the constitutional equality.

It was working perfectly until the leftists start racial preferences by way of affirmative action, redistribution of the wealth and hundreds of other racist programs in the violation of the constitution.

Remember that every living organism must occupy space and consume energy other than its own.

Without that genetic principle there is no possible any life on the earth even ameba can’t exist.

The only left liberals and some other idiots who do not understand creation/evolution try to change the unchangeable and that is why we have wars.

Since we have abandoned the constitutional equality we to will soon resort to an ethnic cleansing.

The Jews, Arabs and Mexicans will win and whites will be eliminated since they lost their will to fight for themselves. Then Jews, Arabs and Mexicans will continue among themselves.

          Nothing will change it!

  44. Is there anyone on this blog who knows who it takes so long to count provisional ballots and mail in ballots. I mailed my ballot in the day I received it in the mail blank, so I filled it out and mailed it in 3 weeks or so before the election. Now they say (OC Board of elections) that it will take days (actually a full week or so) to count these ballots that they have had for weeks.
Is that the election law or is it just the bureaucracy that stinks?

    1. There were about 450,000 vote by mail ballots cast, about the same number as voted in person. Takes time. Envelopes need to be opened. Information (signatures, addresses) needs to be verified. Not just a matter of running them all through a scanning machine.

I think they do amazingly well, all things considered. I heard two weeks to count them all.

    2. If you mailed your ballot 3 weeks early, it was included in the 8:05pm result posting on election night. The items currently being counted are ballots that arrived Monday and Tuesday, mail-in ballots returned to the polls (over 100,000 believe it or not) and provisional ballots.
