Was it a Flashlight or a Taser?

A few days ago some stooge named David Whiting who writes articles on hiking and wildflowers for the OC Register, made the startling statement that although witnesses claimed Kelly Thomas was beaten with a flashlight, the lawyer for the FPD thugs who did the beating denied that flashlights were used. And that left the door open (in his pea-brain) to defend the idea that we members of the mob must patiently wait for the diligent investigation that will clear up these wild inconsistencies.

Well guess what?

Glad we could help clear that up.

  1. So many things are becoming clear, that’s what happens when you turn on the light.
Could we get a look at the other end of that tazer?
I heard it has a “knob like” surface on it.

      1. How would you mistake the butt end of a taser for a Maglight? They are not the same in size or shape!

        1. How would they NOT mistaken it (taser/maglite)? You have a light on a taser!!!!!
Not to mention, it’s dark out, your watching this from across the street, something is in the officer’s hand wacking this poor guy in the head, it has a light on it. Must be a flashlight. Lets remember how the boys in blue work, they crowd the “suspect” and keep witnesses back.
          ….
“ummm, excuse me officers, I am a witness from over there and I just wanted to make this clear, are you beating that man to death with a flash light or a taser?”

          1. If a cop who is beating the skull of his victim with the butt of his taser, he knows his hands are busy doing the beat down with the taser! If they have that big of an issue discerning the difference betwixt the two, maybe the cop shouldn’t have any weapons at all?

      1. And, then there was the guy in Santa Barbara, couple of days ago. Highly agitated mental case. When hit with the taser, the only effect was that the individual calmed down. No screaming, no falling down, no incapacitation. He was then led away by Police without handcuffs, for 5150 observation at a mental hospital. He died that night after eating dinner. Autopsy results will take several months. I guess you just never know.

        1. Maybe as part of cop training, each cop who is going to be issued a taser ought to have to undergo repeatedly being tased themselves.

          Do unto others, etc.

          1. The do get tased and OC sprayed. What they don’t get to experience in academy training is blunt force to their numb skulls!

          2. We need to be asking about the recording devices these cops wear. Where are they and what did they record? Were they audio or did the video the incident?

        2. You just never know what?

That a Kelly Thomas, beaten beyond an inch of his life while calling out “dad, dad, dad” and who’s face was left a bloody pulp and who’s windpipe was crushed and who was tased 6 times might have simply died of natural causes?

        3. Do we know if he had drugs on board or if he has a history with them? Have to rule that out for the paranoid cops on these boards don’t ya know?

    1. Dude you are a POS posting that video and stating that it is Kelly. Even more a POS for saying Kelly was your friend. How in the hell do you expect to pass off some lame ass video with an old man as Kelly?

You are one sick POS! Justice for Kelly yes, but boycott the user name “Justice 4 Kelly 2011”

  2. Parallel but slightly irrelevant anecdote:

I once had a client who was accused of throwing a metal shopping cart at his girlfriend. He stood up in court and yelled out “It was plastic!”.

  3. “the M26 and X26. Both come with various accessories, including a laser sight and optional mounted digital video camera that can record in low-light situations.”

    Stolen from wikpedia

    1. It’s irrelevant what end of what instrument of death these lamebrained coppers used. Blunt force trauma to Kelly’s skull was the end result!

  4. FPD are clearly not responsible and professional enough to be able to use Tasers within the guidelines of the law. City council should force the FPD to abandon the use of tasers entirely. In the hands of irresponsible, unproffesional cowboy thugs, they are nothing more than weapons of torture and murder.

  5. Well, looks like thats a flashlight on a Taser

so both would be correct, Mr Attorney, Mr Whiting and OC Register (and when did you become part of the DA team?)

  6. Got one at home for security. Nice unit particularly with the laser sight. Range of the civilian model is only 15 ft., as opposed to the LE model which is 20 ft. Nice, non-lethal, home protection. Of course, there is a shotgun for back-up. You never know what you will be confronted with when things go bump in the night…

      1. Not true, there are guidelines as to how many times you can fire the taser into someone. There are hundreds of dead people out there as a direct result of this police toy!

      2. Kelly looks like he sustained some damage to his forehead, looks like a dent or indentation of some kind. A curb would not inflict this kind of damage, and to a kid of one of their own!

  7. Good customer relations skills by this goon pig!!—the old man obviously has some mental issues—the pig wanted to display his thuggery skills taught to him at Fullerton College (Saturday mornings)

  8. More cowardice from FPD and City Council:

By the way, this just in: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/08/homeless-man-beating.html

“The city of Fullerton denied a public records request by the Los Angeles Times for information relating to the Kelly Thomas case, including surveillance video footage and the names of the officers involved.”

I will be at City Council meeting tonight telling those morons to release the tape. We pay their salaries. Its our tape, not theirs!

    1. LA Times will be going to court on that refusal to turn stuff over. Who do these idiot minions think they are?

  9. I’ve been trying to find out what time the city council meeting is tonight, but the web site has been down (coincidence??). Does anyone know the time?

    1. I have a feeling the City took the site offline so people won’t be able to watch tonight’s meeting online. They’re that sociopathic.

Unfortunately no other media outlets are going to stream it.

  10. According to the Fullerton Municipal Code that I posted on here yesterday just before the city website went down clearly stated that the only entity that can legally remove the City Manager is the City Councileunuchs who are on their way out once they’re recalled by the voters. Talk about the foxes still being in charge of the hen house!

  11. Comment from OC Register yesterday: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/thomas-311989-video-arrest.html

    9:58 AM on August 15, 2011

“The leaders of Fullerton are putting pressure on the Orange County DA to move quickly bringing charges against the six officers; four of the officers with manslaughter; the other two with second degree murder. The former LAPD officer is the primary focus of the murder investigation. Additional charges will be added as the investigation progresses. Second, one the six is cooperating with the FBI investigation of Kelly Thomas’s murder.”

Anybody know the veracity of any of this?

      1. No, it was one of the comments someone left. Sorry to not make that clear. I have no idea whether there is any truth to this at all, that’s why I’m asking.

    1. This sounds like some of what was pitched by McKinley the other day. However I don’t believe anybody is putting pressure on our do-nothing DA.

There could be secret communication between Rackauckas and the City about the direction he is going. And that would be excellent news, if true.

  12. you guys are the best…great response! keep the heat on em’. the east coast is with you and we are watching. tell mr. thomas we offer all our energy and heart to assist in his mission.

  13. the OC Register should change its name to the OC Observer and hire Sharon, the artist, Kennedy as its editor. The OC Register is Fullerton Observer’s mirror image in that both admirably report newsworthy events like clown visits the library, library expansion opens, uh duh things for senior citizens to do in fullerton what’s happnin at the Muck and so on

  14. Obviously this would have been too complex an issue for the public information officer in Fullerton to clear up. Why explain a flashlight and tazer can be one and the same if there is a chance to split a hair and exploit it right?

  15. Great reporting. I grew up near the Anaheim/Fullerton border back in the 60s & 70s and even back then Fullerton cops were well know to be assholes.

  16. I was listening to an informant on Youtube, he was talking to John and Ken about the flashlights Fullerton coppers use. He reported that these coppers were given plastic flashlights as a direct result of people getting their skulls crushed by LAPD’s use of metal Maglights. You can do some serious damage with those metal things, but you can do the same with plastic lights. Wounds to the head bleed like crazy because of the proximity of blood vessels to the surface. A wound on the head may not be serious, but, it can bleed like crazy!

  17. I SURE HOPE THE PROTESTS AND VIGILS AREN’T BECOMING A THING OF THE PAST. THEY SEEM TO BE DYING OUT….SOMETHING THE CITY WOULD LOVE TO SEE HAPPEN!

  18. HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT THE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS THEIR CRIME STATS LINK UP AND RUNNING? IT WASN’T WORKING A WEEK AGO. IF YOU LOOK AT THEIR CRIME MAP OF AROUND WHERE THE BUS TERMINAL, IT DEPICTS A LOT OF AUTO BURGS IN THE AREA. I AM SUSPICIOUS OF THIS AND HOPE THE PD HAS THE POLICE REPORTS TO BACK THESE STATS UP!

  19. It should be against the law for the cameras that they have to be turned off during any call. Do they wear cameras in Fullerrton?

  20. We know Fullerton PD wears audio recording devices. Whether there’s cameras on them is yet to be discovered.

  21. There is NO law that say cameras have to be turned off. It is your First Amendment right to photograph in a public place. Cops have no expectation of privacy in a public place, neither do you though!
