Roland Chi Supported Convicted Sheriff Mike Corona

California Fair Political Practices Commission reports show that Fullerton City Council candidate Roland Chi contributed $1,000.00 to the Friends of Mike Carona during the first quarter of 2006.  Carona was barely re-elected to a third term in June of that year.

Read it here:

Yes, it’s a big list of contributors, but you won’t find the name of Bruce Whitaker on it.

How about a big round of applause for Roland Chi, recently of Garden Grove, for helping now convicted felon Mike Carona to squeak by with 50.9% of the vote, enough for Carona to avoid a runoff in November of that year.  Carona was indicted while in office the next year, exposing the OCSD to needless upheaval and Orange County to national ridicule.

What does this contribution say about Mr. Chi’s ability to judge character?  Do we want someone willing to fall in to line with Mike Carona on the Fullerton City Council?

  1. didn’t rusty miller of madtv and sheriff carona attend U of redlands? Hmmmmmmmmm. If I was a talk out of both sides of my mouth politician, I would not seek rusty’s endorsement.

  2. Well, since Bruce Whitaker has allied himself with the F’ers, what does that say about him (to anyone that doesn’t have the last name “Bushala”)?

    Blather, blather.

Since Bushala and the rest of the F’ers have no credibility (already proven), that’s all most Fullerton voters need to know.

People are jumping ship on Shawn “Do Anything to Win” Nelson, it’s a beautiful thing.

    1. Is it me or do you include a reference to Shawn Nelson in every comment you make? This post is about Roland Chi.

  3. “…since Bruce Whitaker has allied himself with the F’ers, what does that say about him …”

For starters, I’d say it means he’s willing to stand up for the taxpayers of Fullerton instead of the cop union.

  4. Way to go ” Friends of Fullerton”!

Let’s get rid of all Republicans from Fullerton.

We need to build our own mosque in the city.

  5. I have voted for Obama and now I am responsible for TARP?

Obama is trying to help small businesses and Republicans are calling it a “mini- TARP”!

Republicans, keep it up and we will be laughing at your good for nothin’ CRA members.

  6. Good point Concerned Republican !

Let’s get rid of all bad republicans until you will be left with only good Democrats like me.

  7. For start, let’s go over all Republican donor’s list for criminal Mike Corona.

Cross/kick out all Republican donors then you may be forced to vote for me…the good Democrat with absolutely no link to criminal Corona.

  8. Here is a snippet from his website:

“I manage a business that employs nearly one hundred people and am in the process of hiring an additional one hundred here in Fullerton in the next six months.”

If he can back that statement upon I say he should run for governor.

  9. I remember that race very well, people were forced to endorce Mike by the “un-official” party members. Welcome to party politics…. After being strong armed to endorse Mike in the first place, because you were most likely shunned if you endorsed his opponent, he is now getting crap. Wow, how much of politics actually has to do with the the public and not backdoor deals?? Who does bruce have on payroll for this site, since it seems to be so onesided.

  10. Really?,

The last person I want to see on our city council is someone who will let himself be strong-armed into doing anything.

  11. Stop hating. Does it matter who he gives donation to? its his damn money just shut up and handle it like an adult.
