  1. What’s the big deal here folks?

Guy drives drunk, hits tree, damages property, flees the scene, gets caught, gets special treatment, gets a free ride home, gets tucked under his blankie, end of story.

Those old people complaining are just a bunch of whiners.

  2. Where’s Ron Thomas at? Didn’t he promise to donate all his money to Fullerton, never forget about Kelly’s Army, and never settle the lawsuit to get to the truth?

Can you do an article on that crock of BS too? Just post all my predictions from all those years. I nailed Ron perfectly from the start.

      1. Actually it’s a perfectly legitimate request – except that its in the wrong post so it comes across as weenie-ish.

I think I will write something on that – just to let Ron Thomas know he is not universally beloved.

It may come as a surprise to the Fullerton cops who hated Thomas so much: some Friends were on to him from the get-go.

        1. You say that now Joe. But your team and the Army were all over Ron’s pecker the whole time. They believed what he said about money didn’t matter and he wouldn’t settle because he only wanted the truth. Ron didn’t care about his son or about the Army. He only cared about money and TV time.

          1. Wrong again, Patty.

We knew all about Ron on Day One. He SOLD the picture of his kid in the hospital to Bushala.

            1. Very good Joey. Who is Patty? LOL. Is that like Peppermint Patty?

Good to hear YOU knew how Ron was because clearly all those other ball lickers didn’t know.

  3. Here is the deal , homeless people get arrested or tickets simply for drinking outside …. so now you can drive drunk and get a free pass with apparent property damage simply because you are the city manager …. fuck the system

  4. Gotta love the court of public opinion. Anyone care what city manager has to say? Nah, I didn’t think so.

My thoughts, a man made a real mistake, truly and likely not the first time he may have driven after “a few”. He probably panicked and got special treatment, that I am sure he now regrets (primarily because what happened is known). That set of circumstances indicates, at a minimum, poor judgement. his mea culpa (depth and sincerity) will influence my opinion much more then anything else.

    1. So what does the city manager have to say? I’d love to hear it. He seems to have crawled into a hole.

Asking the chief to intervene in your arrest is not just poor judgement. It’s corruption.

    2. I’d like to hear what the City Manager has to say, too. Unfortunately the city apparatus that HE runs has wrapped up the matter as a confidential “personnel” issue and tied it up with a pretty bow.

The problem isn’t simply that he may have been drunk and drove. It’s that he then tried to drive off into the night after destroying property; and that he quite likely organized an immediate cover-up with his subordinate the chief of police. The latter wwas not only done to save him embarrassment but also to dodge the very costly consequences of a DUI.

No, the minimum is NOT “poor judgment.” It’s the violation of the Vehicle Code and the deliberate abuse of power.

      1. They will assuredly write him a ticket for his offense. Unsafe turning movement. That ticket will be written before the report is released and the audio/video. So that the case is completely closed and adjudicated before anyone can try to change it.

  5. Bet you’ll get the opportunity Tuesday, I predict upfront statements prior to public comment when you all can pile on. I’ll be watching from home with the popcorn.
