Unfortunately they retain their priviliges and are protected, not going into general population like any normal prisioner. So you’ll never know, but if they did go into general population they’d probably quickly find out how Mr Thomas felt at their hands, and feet and tazers, and batons, and sheer weight.

Can the people have a say with their town and their tax dollars? Of course there are good places for those items. They are found by opening an honest dialogue with the public, the taxpayers, land and business owners and people that have EXPERTISE in the fields. Has any of this happened? I think not. Public notice in the form of some dribble in some ambiguous news print on the moon is what the residents got with the exception of this blog. Hell I get more notice from our City Government about “stroller brigade”. Government transparency has become an oxymoron. I can’t figure out whether our elected officials are simply morons or are just plain evil or even worse a little bit of both.

I just made the mistake of assuming the death of Kelly Thomas meant more than just a means to slam the FPD. Even in the off-chance that the officers do some time (50/50 optimistically), I thought there would be a groundswell of support to help alleviate the homelessness in general. I was wrong. There are no good places for airports, jails, high density housing developments, and yes, even homless shelters. If punishing the cops is the only thing to come out of this, we’ve lost more than you could possibly imagine.

Kelly got railroaded and ended up in the morgue and the shelter is being rammed down the neighbors’ throats. Both of these are a done deal and the input from the involved parties falls on deaf ears.

Hey pal the cops murder someone, the silent pillars of the community ram through the shelter location far enough away from their homes and their kids’ schools in secret in a deal that is all but a done one and you suggest medals for the SS officers-Sieg Heil!
