We’re From FFFF, and We’re Here to Help. Our Way.

UPDATE: Here’s a vintage FFFF post from several years ago. I promised to re-run it once in a while. It’s been about 28 months so here ya go!

Dear Friends:

The other day we got an e-mail from a thoughtful friend who said that he agreed with much of what we post about here, but is pained to hear folks attacked for “style and presentation” rather than policy, and that in the end we “have to work together to build a better community and the personal attacks only make that process more difficult in the end.”

I have to chuckle just a bit when somebody says “your attacks are personal.” That’s another way of saying we name names, express our outrage colorfully, and want accountability, something that has been sorely lacking in Fullerton for as long as I can remember. And I, for one,  take that personally. Nobody likes to be called stupid, but when you act like you’re infallible and yet keep doing stupid or thoughtless things you not only invite ridicule, you deserve it. We use satire, sarcasm, and attempts at humor because these are good tools to get our points across – something you can’t do being brushed off at a council meeting twice a month. We want to get people’s attention – everyone’s.

And so I set out to tell the Fullerton story from my perspective, and the perspective of others who felt the same way I did, and those who had been effectively excluded from the decision making process. We decided that we would tell the truth, as we saw it by describing facts and presenting the names of people who took bad decisions or who acted in their own interests instead of the interest of the public. That sounds like taking on a pretty big responsibility, and I didn’t do it lightly, nor do I believe that I am better than any one else. But I have this forum and I intend to keep up the pressure on our electeds and their staff to take responsibility for their actions. We have invited comment or correction from anybody – something you’ve never yet seen happen at City Hall.

In closing, it is our intention to help build a better community for Fullerton’s future. But we’re going to do it our way. Sometimes you’ve got to knock over a few Sacred Cows to clear the road.

We're not moving!
We've got a pretty sweet gig here, and we're not moving on our own!

  1. Well, like somebody famous once said – you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs!

  2. The bottom line is are you telling the truth?

If the measure of your efforts is how did you make every one feel, you will be hard pressed to put honesty first. If your focus is to be first and foremost truthful, then a lot of feelings will be hurt. There really is no hybrid form of measurement.

I say go with the truth and let the chips fall where they may.

  3. Right-on Dave. If we play their game by their rules all we’ll end up with is a big wheeze of ozone.

We don’t lie about anybody. And we don’t sugar coat the truth. If anybody wants to challenge the facts of what we publish, they are more than welcome to post here. We are not omniscient, and unlike city hall denizens, we don’t pretend to be. If we’re wrong tell us.

The invitation has already been issued many times to Quirk and others.

  4. hang in there, admin. Half the charm of FFFF is it does not pull its punches. If I just wanted sterile facts, then I would listen only to NPR.

    1. Across the street, on Commonwealth, over the tire store, there is, or was, a ‘sort-of’ half house full of parolees, many of them neo-nazis.

      1. Well it figures cause across on the other side of the street inside that bldg with that stupid neon police sign is filled with actual nazi’s and the leader of them. They needed a place close by didnt they?

  5. The truth always stands on its own. I know when you began you knew this blog would rise above the methane coming up from the landfill. 2012 is going to be the year of the wheat being seperated from the chaff. Keep up the good work and continue to keep the community abreast of what would otherwise be swept under the rug. There are still alot of minds to unlock and this forum will certainly maintain its effectiveness as long as we keep the lights on.

  6. Tony,
Glad you brought this subject up today.
The other day while reading your blog I saw you found it acceptable to refer to the men and women of the Fullerton Police Department as “swine” and the Public Information Officer referred to as a spokes- sphincter. Calling public servants and elected officials names like dinosaurs, McPension, spokeshole is neither humorous, satirical or sarcastic. In my opinion it is vile and inappropriate.

Name calling would not be acceptable today in a schoolyard, why is it acceptable for a grown man to engage in such behavior?

If your son came home from school and told you that during a disputed call in a playground basketball game the boy who owned the basketball had called him a stupid sand nigger what would you do?

Ask if the other boys had thought it was funny? Tell your son it is acceptable if it is funny.

Tell him that he can call anyone anything he wants when he owns the ball?

Tell him that it is wrong to call someone a stupid sand nigger because it is too overtly offensive. Suggest to him that it would be acceptable for him to call this boy stupid since he had flunked the last two math tests but to find a way to do it that dishonestly dances around what you mean. Like spokeshole.

You say you want to be taken seriously by using satire, sarcasm, and attempts at humor these are the tools of the clown in the circus of life, not the ringmaster.

Someone should have told you, no one takes the clown seriously.

How about the other public servants, fellow Friends For Fullertons Future that frequent this forum?

    Shawn Nelson
    Chris Thompson
    Bruce Whitaker

Do you agree that name calling by an adult is acceptable behavior under any circumstances?

You must. I have never seen any of these individuals object publicly to anything Tony says. As far as I am concerned his words are your words by your failure to have the courage to speak up and object.

    1. Actually Bertha, I’m glad you ask. While I’m not sure what would qualify as having “objected” to name-calling or the like on the blog, I have certainly encouraged both the commenters and the bloggers many times to dial back the name-calling and foul language. The challenge with what you are saying is that “vile and inappropriate” is subjective. Not only that, negative reactions to words exist on a scale. You may be absolutely floored by somebody referring to Andrew Goodrich as a spokes*^%e and I may just strongly prefer that the writer had used another term.

I believe the following to be true. Fullerton’s Future is without question the most politically valuable source of information and truth related to Fullerton politics available and there is no close second. I count every blog and newspaper known to man in that characterization. I also believe that its impact and benefit would be greater if the bloggers and commenters independently chose to refrain from cursing and tried harder to think of ways to negatively describe behaviors with less name calling. Neither the blog, nor I have an ability to control what independent bloggers choose to type.

The question of moderation or censorship is a much more difficult one. I believe that all of the political blogs that are Orange County-focused that I am familiar with moderate and aggressively censor the bloggers and commenters. Not only does FFFF rarely censor comments, it really even editorializes the actual bloggers. However, they do censor on rare occasion when the degree to which a comment is so egregiously libelous, irrelevant or sick that it is of no value at all. It is also true that there is no staff available to pay greater attention to that stuff. If I had time or desire, and if Tony granted me editorial rights…which he has not, nor do I want responsibility for, I would probably censor measurably more than is the case today. It’s difficult for me to quantify it, but suffice it to say that maybe two dozen times over the past three years I have told Tony that I believe either a word, a phrase, an image or even an entire comment should be removed and he has disagreed. Obviously he has the ultimate authority on that. Maybe 8 or 10 times over that same period he has agreed and removed something.

What I constantly have to remind myself of is that FFFF is not a for-profit newspaper. It does not have an editorial board. It has bloggers who have varying degrees of relationships with Tony and Travis. Everyone is free to write on the blog, comment on the blog or ignore the blog. Everybody is free to judge the bloggers, judge Tony, Travis and certainly me. I hope that people judge me primarily for what I choose to say about the decisions and words of those in government, but I hope that I am also judged with respect to my efforts to encourage change in personal behavior on the blog. I do know that several people have told me that they hold me accountable for all blog content simply for my decision to participate on the blog openly. While I personally find that ridiculous, I have always been aware that would be the case with some people. To be honest I have no idea whether it comes at a net political cost or loss with respect to getting elected or not and frankly, I don’t care. I do care about being a person of integrity and character, but my political interests have to do with improving government.

As for Shawn and Bruce, I think you’re barking up the wrong tree Bertha. Other than the degree to which they may blog anonymously, (I have no idea if they do…although I suspect as much with Nelson) neither of them participate on the blog to any significant degree. I think the question that you posed to the three of us is really only germane to me. Like me, hate me or anything in between, that’s the truth.

    2. Some of them are swine. The Three Dead Logs are dinosaurs. If you don’t like it don’t log on. Goodrich is a lying sack of shit (do you like that any better?).

A lie is more offensive than any insult. And you and your antiquated regime are living a gross and insulting lie.

      1. Joe, the truth hurts, and the Old Boys are feeling some real pain.

Say “Bertha,” why don’t you write up a post detailing politely the lies of Goodrich, the crimes committed by FPD personnel (fraud, theft, perjury, sexual assault), the murder of Kelly Thomas, cover up of same, etc.

Put it any way you wan to. Hell go ahead and defend it, and I’ll post.

And that’s a better deal than anybody would ever get from Dick Ackerman and his puppets.

        1. Didn’t we hear this schoolyard-name calling-take your ball home lecture before?

If I’m not mistaken, it was given the night former city councilwoman Pam Keller announced publicly she was not going to run for re-election.

Could be Bertha be Pam, hmmm…

    3. “The other day while reading your blog I saw you found it acceptable to refer to the men and women of the Fullerton Police Department as “swine” and the Public Information Officer referred to as a spokes- sphincter. Calling public servants and elected officials names like dinosaurs, McPension, spokeshole is neither humorous, satirical or sarcastic. In my opinion it is vile and inappropriate.”

What are you bitching about? You’ll get a chance to vote against the recall in about five months.

    4. Bertha,

The “s— n—-” epithet is racial, while the “s—-a—-” term describes behavior. You’ve drawn a bad parallel between the two names, even though both may be offensive to you.

    5. Playground basketball game? Are you out of your fucking mind? Harmless people are being murdered by rogue cops. Members of the FPD have been busted robbing, sexually assaulting, and perjuring.

Millions have been swindled from water ratepayers. Millions have been dished out to pals and campaign contributors.

Bankhead is senile. Jones is an abusive, loud-mouthed asshole. McKinley is some kind of whack-job masquerading as Hero.

And you’ve got the nerve to use a phrase like “playground basketball game?”

Well guess what? News flash! You’re about to get a recall boot kicked so far up your ass you’ll be able to tie the laces with your tongue. Embrace it.

      1. “You’re about to get a recall boot kicked so far up your ass you’ll be able to tie the laces with your tongue.”

        Incisive invective. Well played, sir!

  7. Get a sense of humor Bertha!!!
Names like ‘Spokesphincter’ are suitable, in fact genius when it comes to ‘dickheads’ like Sergeant Goodrich. Sure, he is a public official, but an extremely dishonest one. So what’s wrong with referring to him as a ‘Spokesphincter’? GET OVER IT, Sister Mary Discipline!
Calling the three rejects on the city council ‘dinosaurs’ is also appropriate. They are old buzzards, set in their own wrong ways. And you anology about a boy on a playground being called a ‘Sand-nigger’ is in no way related to all of this.
Who violated who here? the city violated the citizens.
And who’s calling them on it? Tony and FFFF
    That’s right; suck it up!

  8. BTW Bertha, the violators within FPD are more commonly known now as ‘Swineholes’.
How do ya like that one?

  9. Bertha-or whatever your name is, Glad you brought it up.
First up, who are you calling a clown?

Today, when I read your complaints, I noticed that you don’t have any shred of information as to why those three losers up for recall think they should continue in their seats.
Also not brought up by you are your heros implying Fullerton citizens are not as educated as they are, and McKinley saying to a group of women in a recent Shebear seminar that the women “officer” Rincon molested were “not like you”.

If you have any rationale for this other than “they are terrific citizens” and have served in the military then I would be amazed.

The only pearl clutching issue that has any concern in your mind is the “name calling” on this blog and who is condoning it.

Well, I suggest you get your smelling salts ready.
    BTW-‘Spokesphincter’ is hilarious

And the only clown here is you for complaining against an American 1st ammendment right to freedom of speech out in an open forum.

  10. Stop being such a ninny. We are not children. We are grown men and women. This is not a schoolyard. We are not dealing with children. Kids dont get murdered and molested at school and have school staff cover up and lie and frame kids. Get real and get out into the real world and out of your classroom. Government corruption and evil is fought on turf that has no remote resemblance to a schoolyard. Name calling by an adult is an acceptable form of protest on any given day of the week. This is America. Deal with it. I guess the first ammendment encompasses the porn industry and some of the crap that is on its way to the classrooms but doesnt protect speech promoting a political agenda that has the best interests of the taxpayers and public safety in mind. I guess when it comes allegations of brutal beatings, torture, murder, lies, sexual assault, falsification of reports, and looting the coffers, name calling is uncalled for. We should roll over, insert thumb, and assume the fetal position and hand everything over because after all you know best. Get yourself a good water filtration system and open your windows. You need some good clean water and some fresh air.

  11. What is wrong with refering to someone as a spokessphincter?
Nothing Tony if you do not wish to be taken seriously.
Personally I feel that people deserve to be treated with dignity no matter what the circumstances.
I am sorry that you felt like you were excluded from the decision making process.
That is no reason to lash out at others like you do.

    1. See my comment above, Bertha my dear. I would love for you to write a post describing things like the theft of $27,000,000, the murder of Kelly Thomas, the gift of Redevelopment funds to a campaign supporter.

Be nice, be polite. I’ll publish it.

      1. This would be one of those comments that I would recommend to Admin be removed. The critical component being the absolute lack of any kind of value at all to anybody.

          1. I admit it. I am Bertha Washington. And I am also the reason Larry has that pained look on his face. Well, that and the recall!

      2. I have been blogging here since July, and never read the statement “Sand N…..” I would have never let a statement like that go by without a comment. That word is unacceptable….

    2. Excluded from what decision making process? What cryptic message is that suppose to mean?

Lash out? Lashing out would be slamming a person’s head into a curb until he is dead and resembles hamburger then covering it up.

  12. Oh! A dirty word. Ah declare ah’m going to just plumb pass out.

    Call that handsome Doctah Jones.

  13. Chris Thompson
Tony is responsible for 90% of what is written on this blog and 100% of the content.
It is pathetic that he feels that he can call himself names like Wrong Guy and post on his own blog under names other than his own to support his childish behavior. And Goodrich is a liar? Tony do you really think people don’t know what you are doing. The end must justify the means.

You are so right. There is nothing you can do.
You do not compromise your own values by failing to object. Every time.

    1. The majority of us are certain of what Tony is doing and what he is doing is for the betterment of the community.
It appears maybe you spent too much time idolizing Mother Theresa and are therefore taking this ‘name calling’ thing a bit too far.
It was done humorously, in fact I recall buckling over when I saw “Spokesphincter” in writing. Previously it was always ‘spokeshole’, then ‘spokesorifice’ and so on. The bottom line is each got funnier and it all should be taken with ‘a grain of salt’ considering admin is talking about our city leaders; our authorities. Guess what? They have been utter failures and deserve a little bit of insults via name-calling once in a while.
Now your earlier example, of ‘Sand-Nigger’ was extremely racial. In case you didn’t know, a sandnigger is slang for an Arab. But, notice how admin hasn’t used any racial slurs ever, nor have they shown or inserted any language that would question their credibility; aside from you.
Notice how many supporters commented after your ‘prudish’ response to Tony? How could all of us be wrong, and little ol’ you right?

    2. Bertha, Goodrich gets the respect he has earned. He has caused considerable damage to the community by manipulating the facts in so many cases. His half-truths are often as bad or worse than his blatant see-through lies.

Speaking of school yard mentality, Goodrich imagines that if he keeps a big toe somewhere near a truth here and there, then later, if he gets caught, he can make the argument that it was all just an honest mistake. His misinformation in the July police brutality case has caused great damage to the Thomas family and the community at large. Wherever the story was carried around the globe, those broken bones went rattling right along with it. The damage can never be fully corrected. After all the fallout, has Goodrich shown any remorse or willingness to reform? No, he still carries on with the same bag of dirty tricks to suppress transparency like verbally abusing Marisa Gerber and dishing out retribution to the OC Weekly for example.

Police departments need to be paragons of virtue. They testify in court routinely. Would anyone feel comfortable to see Goodrich take the witness stand in a case against them? The District Attorney’s Office said they prosecuted Veth Mam because they believed the police. Even after that case was properly disposed by the jury, Hamilton and Goodrich didn’t take corrective action. They just shifted to a different dishonest, ‘honest mistake’ position.

    3. Well Bertha, you just lost what little credibility you had. I can assure you that Tony does not write 90% of what is on the blog. I was suckered. I thought you were truly concerned about name-calling and it turns out that your deeper agenda is to discredit the blog by whatever means you find necessary…including the fabrication of truth. Too bad.

  14. Tony is also 90% responsible for charges being filed on 2 police officers who, after brutally murdering a homeless man acted like nothing happened and were still driving around in their patrol cars on duty with para military weapons for over a month. It took the DA almost 3 months to file charges when the whole thing was on tape? The DA practically popped out of the headliner for the Seal Beach shooting. That doesnt seem to bother you? It didnt make me and my children feel safe but it makes you feel good because you think are on the right side of a wrong. That is no place to hang out.

  15. Now you’ve clearly ‘lost it’ Bertha.
Tony Bushala is NOT Wrong Guy. I’m the only Wrong Guy around here and don’t you forget it!

  16. Name calling is not adult behavior. It is not how we expect to be treated by others. It is not behavior that would be acceptable by a police officer or a city council person.
It serves no purpose. It is not funny. It does not further your cause.

I used the term Sand Nigger because it is the type of comment that a child would make.
Children ridicule others based on their names or physical attributes things that they have little control over (Like their weight for instance.)

It is childish reasoning to claim that it is OK to resort to such behavior because of the utility tax or because they are old or whatever.

You said it yourself. You do it because you can.

It is your ball. You can take it home if you want.

    1. B-get over the name calling issue and uncloak the real issue, coverups and cronyism by government officials, lies from government officials, hidden information from government officials, disrespect for taxpaying citizens and their money from government officials, incompetence from government officials.

If it weren’t for Tony Bushala, that you think is a clown that no one listens to… alot of issues in fullerton government including Kelly Thomas wouldnt have been brought to light, and things would still be covered up as usual and citizens would still be shaking in fear at the sight of a fullerton cop
There are no ulterior motives, the expressions here are unconventional but that gets attention to issues, thats the main thing.

    2. “See these hands? There about to F__k you up”. I guess you don’t watch the news. A statement like that, what kind of respect is that?

  17. Bertha, what the HELL are you talking about?
And, I dont know-What IS Tony trying to do?

Goodrich is a big f-ing liar -he told everyone that the cops who killed Kelly Thomas were in a scuffle with him and had broken bones (lie); that cops were responding to a report that Kelly was breaking into cars(lie); that kelly stole things (lie); that drivers have been holding down their horns continuously for a quarter-mile up and down Commonwealth and Highland (lie); that is was unclear if non lethal weapons were used on Kelly (lie)

yes, goodrich is a liar, fin

    1. And that is why it is perfectly acceptable to refer to all of the members of the Fullerton Police Department as swine?

      1. Hm, maybe rife institutional corruption and the code of silence, where not one of the ‘noble’ officers has ever come forward to blow the whistle. Not once, ever. Ever.

        Oink.

        1. here here, do you understand what hes saying-Bertha?

Not one of these so called “good apples” have come forth with any information regarding the murder of Kelly Thomas, not one

also, that Goodrich fellow of the FPD is a big giant lying swine for reasons I pointed out in another post above.

          1. Joe. Serious question. What information do you think any of the cops not there can provide? Just wondering what kind of statement you expected from all the other cops that wasn’t made.

            1. Cowardly deafening silence is what I would always expect. The whole force has seen the video or knows what’s on it. They either approved of what happened to Thomas or they are chickenshitpussies.

              True story.

            2. I guess you are talking to me, though my name isnt “joe” I will answer that “serious question”

The FPD is small therefore they know what really happened, yes, all of them,
I would like someone to leak some damn info to the media about what they heard in the locker room back in july, about what Sellers said to everyone in one of those cop meetings before he took to his sick bed.
I would like someone with integrity to leak out the info – if there was a burglary call that night Kelly was beat and who made it.
I would like one of those “good apples” to discuss what those slaughtering six are really like to work with, their hobbies, their thoughts about the people of Fullerton.

              For example

              1. I see.

Have you ever heard of any of these things happening after a major incident ever?

I understand your desires. I have just never heard of this happening. Ever. Occasionally you will get a disgruntled employee that will come out and accuse a Chief or PD or discrimination or a bad PD as a generality or precursor to their lawsuit.

I think most of the PD has a good idea of what happened that night in terms of the contact, flight, fight, and death. I don’t think they know much more than that outside of friend discussions with the people involved.

The details of the burg or suspicious subject call are only known by a few. The others just have an idea through gossip.

So overall, not knowing exact details and having nothing solid to provide, no one would ever step up to degrade their co workers and make their city and their PD look bad. Saying something like someone told someone that this happened or someone said this happened is worthless and as you know, would ruin those cops careers forever if they weren’t basing their press conference on facts.

                1. Typical cop bull shit,
I know that man was murdered by a big blue blubber butt and so does someone in the force,
I dont give a crap about the politics of protecting a brotha or whether or not its “solid” and ruining a cop career should not even be a consideration, what with a man being killed and all.

                  Geeze, no ethics

      2. Please refer us to a single statement in a blog post anywhere that describes “all of the members of the Fullerton Police Department as swine”.

That is an outright lie. Are you related to Goodrich?

  18. By that measure you should have no abjection to Goodrich being called a lying sack of shit, since it is because he lies which is something he is entirely in control of. Unless you think he is a helpless compulsive liar, in which case he deserves our sympathy and a pink slip.

  19. Bertha Washington :
Name calling is not adult behavior. It is not how we expect to be treated by others. It is not behavior that would be acceptable by a police officer or a city council person.
It serves no purpose. It is not funny. It does not further your cause.

You said it yourself. You do it because you can.
It is your ball. You can take it home if you want.

…and I’m still waiting for you to respond to Mr. Bushala’s challenge, rather than dazzle and baffle us with your self-righteous rhetoric.

  20. truthseeker :Tony is also 90% responsible for charges being filed on 2 police officers who, after brutally murdering a homeless man acted like nothing happened and were still driving around in their patrol cars on duty with para military weapons for over a month. It took the DA almost 3 months to file charges when the whole thing was on tape? The DA practically popped out of the headliner for the Seal Beach shooting. That doesnt seem to bother you? So true, truthseeker.
Especially how the DA reacted fast and furious towards the Seal Beach incident and drug his feet, hoping that FPD would successfully cover this up on their own.

  21. Bertha, , this is a blog for adults and not for children. I have seen cussing and name calling, but your racist comment is the first I have ever seen on this blog and that tells me a lot about your character.

I think you have things backward, respect is something that is earned, not demanded. The history of the city of Fullerton in recent times has not given it’s citizens the things they trusted their leaders to do in their name in running and operating this city. So, if there is some name calling or recall voting being put together, I think that’s to be expected.

Please don’t come on here and talk to people as though they are children. It makes you appear to be a bully. If that’s your opinion, then cast your vote accordingly and allow others to also have their own viewpoint and opinions as they see fit.

And, , please, , your old enough to learn some manners, , please use them….

  22. Guess we all told Bertha Washington a thing or two!
It makes me wonder who these people are. These occassionals that chime in and attack admin for something petti such as a humurous nick-naming.
Could these people be kin to one of the 3 incompetents on the city council, or could they be kin or maybe even spouses to some of the FPD criminals.
These people are not like you people….

    1. Cowardly and connected for sure. They are testing the waters and are realizing that we are not the slimy eels like they want to make us out to be. We do pack some serious AC current however as the truth is the best source of power that there is.

    2. What she refuses to see is that although many bloggers share the same beliefs, , we are all individuals, from many different backgrounds with many ways of expressing ourselves. One person’s choice of words may be different from anothers, but we all share ideas and learn from each other.

She thinks being polite is the only key to a debate or posting opinions…….well, someone better tell her to watch out for the polite con man that may sell her the brooklyn bridge.

  23. <—Can attest that Wrong Guy IS NOT Tony Bushala.. It is pretty funny though.. Like Tony doesn't have better things to do but sit on this blog and change his name for every comment made..

I've said some pretty bad stuff on here however, I've never made a racist statement like Bertha Washington made..

  24. “Most people who complain appear to feel powerless regarding some aspect of their lives. In some instances they could actually change things for themselves if they would only put forth the effort. They may have found that complaining is however, by far easier. The trouble is complaining can be a total turn-off to others and can alienate even the best of friends.”

    1. Just a Champion :
“Most people who complain appear to feel powerless regarding some aspect of their lives. In some instances they could actually change things for themselves if they would only put forth the effort. They may have found that complaining is however, by far easier. The trouble is complaining can be a total turn-off to others and can alienate even the best of friends.”

FFFF is Putting forth a strong effort.

Bertha is complaining about “golf clubs at the golf club”

  25. I would like to thank all those that participated in this blog. Some of the best comedy I have read in a long time.

PS….Bertha. I know what you are, but what am I?

    Sorrry. Couldn’t resist.

  26. I love this website. I love coming here. It’s as good an example of the working power of the 1st Amendment for which anyone could ever hope.

I like all the salty stuff, too. You guys crack me up, every day. Humor and sarcasm will win the day every time. Don’t stop what you’re doing.

Oh, and Bertha? You’re an asshole.

  27. Is “Bertha Washington” part of some anti-recall strategy? Like will her coined racial insult find its way to the front page of the anti-recall site as attributed to Tony Bushala? I am interpreting her comments as either bizarre or strategically placed…

    1. Ok, I’m not trying to get too off topic, but I followed the link you provided and skimmed the page. Anti-recall supporters wrote:

Earlier this year Bushala received $3.5 million from the Orange County Transportation Authority for another development scheme in downtown Fullerton.

From what I have read of the comments on this site, I am going to assume that this statement is a lie. Can anyone sue these people for libel or slander if the information is blatantly a lie?

        1. Harpoon you have been around for a long time. You know that this lie along with many other lies will be put in print, phone calls, and speeches by both sides until this is all over.

          1. Incorrect. We at FFFF never lie. Prove a singular deliberate misstatement in an FFFF post. Ever.

            We deal in facts.

            1. That’s a lie. You know there have been numerous times where FFFF takes a known fact and then doesn’t provide the rest of the story that changes the interpretation or provides a fact and then spins the happenings after that how they want them to look. You know that’s true. That’s a lie because they are doing that intentionally to make the reader make a negative image interpretation as FfFf desires.

              1. Yeah, a Known fact.” like what?

Was it known Veth Mam was justly arrested and tried? Was it a known fact that Kelly Mejia wasn’t caught on TSA video boosting an iPad? Was it a known fact Cueball didn’t say “those ladies wren’t like you?” Was it a known fact Bankhead din’t say without Redevelopment Fullerton would be a ghost town? Was it a known fact that FPD cops didn’t beat KT to death? Was it a known fact that Albert Rincon left his DAR on? Is it a known fact that Rincon didn’t sexually assault women in his patrol car? Is it a known fact that the City didn’t pay only two of Rincon’s victims $350,000 to go away? Is it a known fact that the City has been legally jacking up water rates to the tune of $27,000,000 since 1997? Was it a known fact that Major didn’t perpetrate fraud on the City and a bunch of kids?

Oh jeez, I could go on forever.

                1. Hey I like where you’re going with this.

Is it a known fact that Fullerton cops received broken bones “fighting” with Kelly Thomas? is it a known fact that cars were being broken into? Is it a known fact that KT had other’s possessions?

Is it a known fact that Ramos didn’t say “these hands are going to fuck you up?”

Is it a known fact McPension doesn’t pull in $215,00o in pension – more than he ever earned actually on somebody’s payroll?

Is it a known fact that Bankhead stays awake during council meetings?

                  Hey this is fun!

          2. But why? Why the Tony Bushala card, why? Its not like he’s running for office .
Tony wants nothing from these 3 petrified turds-favors or otherwise and has stated that in print.

In my opinion, focusing on Tony Bushala (the doody head defense) instead of even trying to defend themselves proves the point that they are incompetent boobs and prehistoric fossils-and that they aren’t taking this seriously-
They seem to be just laughing at and mocking taxpaying citizens- that should piss off everyone in the community.

            1. Just because Tony has been pushing his agenda for years. To say he has focused solely on the good of Fullerton and not his agenda and projects is a lie. Maybe he now is done with his own agenda and wants the changes for only the good of Fullerton, which could be true. But his past, good and bad decisions, personally and in business, will follow him to his grave. The anti recall campaign will focus on whatever they can to win. Just as FFFF will say things and focus on anything they can use to win.

Have to remember people voted these three in and know Tony from before. Getting the recall official and then getting them out and getting people in place to beat the recalled people’s chosen replacements will be very difficult if not impossible. Getting them out is hard enough.

Politics is nasty and you/we haven’t seen nasty at all yet.

              1. And you know this how? you lying no good troll.
back your words up with facts- you can’t and you know it -because its a lie and there is no proof of any of this you gossiping yenta.

FFFF doesnt say “things” (lies) just to win , fool…this is the truth-whether you agree or not. facts are facts and cant be changed.

            2. Merijoe, you’re right! The anti-recall folks are plain dumb. I mean, who in the hell would be stupid enough to name their movement “Recall-No” and not “No-Recall”?

Second, in my opinion the Recall-No knuckle strategy will backfire. Attacking the messenger (Tony Bushala) with lies instead of addressing the issues is the last thing voters want to hear. This method (plus $1.5 million) is exactly what the public employee unions did to Fullerton councilman Shawn Nelson against Anaheim Mayor Pro-Tem Harry Sidhu.

Nelson became our Supervisor and won by a landslide. And if I’m not mistaken both Jones and McKinley endorsed Sidhu.

And lastly, Reality Is is living proof of why we need to shrink the size of government. Nobody like RI should have a million dollar retirement pension waiting for them when they turn 50.

  28. Bertha Washington :
    Chris Thompson
Tony is responsible for 90% of what is written on this blog and 100% of the content.
It is pathetic that he feels that he can call himself names like Wrong Guy and post on his own blog under names other than his own to support his childish behavior. And Goodrich is a liar? Tony do you really think people don’t know what you are doing. The end must justify the means.
You are so right. There is nothing you can do.
You do not compromise your own values by failing to object. Every time.

      1. Ive read almost 90% of all this blogsite and its comments for the past six months, the posts have been honest to a fault.

Calling someone an asshole or swine is not that bad its modern english, the 2nd definition of asshole is an irritating or contemptible person.
        1. the attitude or feeling of a person towards a person or thing that he considers worthless or despicable; scorn
        2. the state of being scorned; disgrace (esp in the phrase hold in contempt )
        3. wilful disregard of or disrespect for the authority of a court of law or legislative body: contempt of court.

Some American cities are more accepting of the U.S. Constitutions 1st amendment. Ironic, “Narsimensirexics”,
Seems like an age old struggle between Good and EVIL.

Below is a poster of the irritating and contemptible people on this site, “get an Internet Map” “Use a dictionary”

  29. Agree if a cop was there and the facts weren’t being presented correctly or people were lying at this point. But the last thing you will ever see is someone not at an incident come out with a statement based on assumptions or guesses.

    merijoe :
    Typical cop bull shit,
I know that man was murdered by a big blue blubber butt and so does someone in the force,
I dont give a crap about the politics of protecting a brotha or whether or not its “solid” and ruining a cop career should not even be a consideration, what with a man being killed and all.
    Geeze, no ethics

  30. Picking on Tony is an old tactic of Socialists Fascist and the Far Left. They are known as students of Alinsky these days poliutics is a very Dark buissness. Hitler focused on the Jewish population, for his ultimate goals, Like a pack of Lions, weeding out and separating a large animal because they would not as easily attain their goal otherwise. Its an Intimidation process. It really puzzles me why the American Left is so openly anti Israel, or antisemitic. This is California “Land of the Fruits and Nuts”, what can you do?

Just dont forget knowledge is power, misunderstanding is the cause of most of all human conflicts.

  31. Bertha was my fourth grade teacher. She did not allow name calling. She was white and old.
Any assumptions made regarding the name are just that, assumptions. Very common among the readers of this blog.

    1. Was anybody ever beat up on Bertha’s playground? Did Bertha let it be covered it up? Did Bertha let kids steal each other’s lunch money and fall asleep during class just so long as they didn’t call each other names.

I’m beginning to think you are the nincompoop Keller.

    2. Oh STFU already. Jeeeeeeeze

“verwe common among the readers of this blog” (you mean people who actually have brain matter)

Politics is nasty and you/we haven’t seen nasty at all yet.

My own personal experience has shown me that this will not be near as hard as you surmise. The allies of the three that were in place when the recall started, have been progressively dropping like flies throughout the recall campaign.

  33. MeriJoe,

Does it make you mad that they send 500 cops to the scene to catch a bad guy that shot a parole officer but if it was you, you would get the 6 Fullerton cops only? I always here people like you say that.

    I love you.

    1. RI,
What gets me mad is the slaughter house 6 getting away with torturing and killing an innocent man while the rest of you worthless mutilations (including you), cover and try to weasal your way out by falsly accusing and arresting and the other government holes that side with you.

And you are a creepy scumbag -so watch it.

      1. Maybe house is cleaned and it’s a great PD now with all the bad apples gone?

LOL. Someday we will have a beer and laugh. You are great.

        🙂

Reality Is your so full of crap it’s coming out your ears. The cops that weren’t there know exactly what happened and who screwed up and who didn’t.

Why because cops gossip worse than old ladies at a bridge club. They start more rumors and baseless crap within their own ranks than many other organizations.

Ya think those cops who were not charged have said something to someone by now? You bet, with their fellow co-workers, their friends who they trust. Family members and loved ones know what happened that night.

    Other Police Chiefs do too.

Your earlier comments about sometimes disgruntled employees come forward, WTF does that mean exactly? A disgruntled employee would lie, or is the disgruntled employee tired of the non-sense?

Anyone with half a brain knows darn good and well that nothing is rosey internally at FPD with THREE seperate moves in the command structure in the last 6 months.

Sellers would still be coming to work everyday if things were peachy as you seem to suggest.

ALL kinds of circumstances thus far to “lead a resonable prudent person to believe” some bad stuff happened the night of Kelly’s death.

Now take the Federal Judge who admonished FPD for their way of doing business on another INTERNAL situation speaks for itself.

Don’t try and lead the public with your CRAP of no one’s speaking because they weren’t there and don’t know anything. It’s utter BS.

And cops will throw WHOEVER under the bus once the pressure get’s too hot. I think we will see that at trial.

The cops are afraid to speak out, or they are covering for a couple of other knuckleheads.

When the dishonest stuff starts, the honest cops talk among themselves in short order. The good, bad and UGLY spreads like wild fire.

I bet the internal 411 has spread like wild fire to neighboring agencies too.

I know your full of crap because I was sitting next to and Orange County Police Chief the day Mike Corona was officially indicted for corruption.

His freaking phone NEVER stopped ringing ALL day with 411 coming in from people ALL over the County with concerns, questions, rumors and all the other stuff that takes place when scandals come down within Law Enforcement.

There is a buzz within any LE organization and surrounding agencies when a cop get’s pinched for DUI let alone MURDER.

So spare us your “feel good” spin on the public is mistaken and it’s really not that way.

    1. You have your opinions all over this with two facts.

Like I said, 411 and gossip. You think someone is going to come out and say oh I heard so and so did this so I think so and so did this. That sounds great? 🙂

I respect your biased opinion but it’s full of guesses and assumptions about PDs, cops, and FPD of which two things were true and the rest BS.

Keep up the good work. 🙂

      1. RI, you big copkissing, bootylickin nazi- that’s exactly what should happen.
One of those blue gestapo needs to come forward with ANY shit they heard from the person’s own mouth-yes.

There is a difference on my opinion, opinions of FFFFers and someone who committed homocide.

  35. Reality Is :
You have your opinions all over this with two facts.
Like I said, 411 and gossip. You think someone is going to come out and say oh I heard so and so did this so I think so and so did this. That sounds great?

    Keep up the good work.

NO assumptions Reality Is. Been there done that in EVERYTHING I’ve said. Baised based on 20 years personal experience and many years in reading and talking to others.

That’s 20 years as a street cop. Not a meter maid, civilian employee within the ranks. Been sued, killed in the line of duty, hundreds of investigations of all sorts, internal affairs investigations, union representative etc. Plenty of courtroom experience too.

Not a freakin teacher with a degree in Law Enforcement who speaks based on reading books and then teaches others with limited PERSONAL experience.

And your resume is? Did I miss it somewhere?

Like I said before, you want to meet and compare resumes? Tell war story’s, compare legal documents, whatever let me know.

I’ll be the first one to come onto THIS BLOG and tell everyone your the REAL deal on personal experience and wisdom. And we just differ in opinions, NO harm, NO foul.

And YES cops do come forward and call BS on their departments or scandals. LAPD has had more than it’s share of whistleblowers.

Are you scared to meet the challenge? Afraid your true job title won’t meet the criteria at the end of the day?

If your experienced, confident, have resolve and conviction you will. I do.

If your a coward and a blow hole then I know the answer.

    1. Sounds like we have led identical careers. Impressive.

Then you clearly know a majority of cops are good people doing a good job and doing the job well. Just odd that you clump the profession as a whole into the bad apple area when you should know the truth. If you have 20 years of street time then you are well aware of the specific reasons force is used, as well as how things lead to the use of profanity, yelling, being disrespected, etc. You are also well aware that videos show small portions of what actually occurred and the cop is always wrong until proven innocent by the full videos, witness statements, etc.

You are also very well aware there are bad cops and always will be. No matter what. Some make mistakes of the mind, some of the heart. Some intentional, some not.

Maybe you have worked IA or been in charge of IA like me. If so, you are then very knowledgeable in the process and how things are founded, unfounded, or exonerated. Also, that anyone complaining is not satisfied unless the complaint is founded. If unfounded, they immediately claim coverup or the police protecting their own when in many cases the investigation was done perfectly and the cops were in fact innocent.

I agree. Cops do call BS on their departments. I’ve done it myself. That’s why I said no one has come forward because they have nothing solid to offer. This was the perfect chance for a whistleblower to step up, or even a disgruntled employee even.

I’m pretty sure you and I have worked for the same agency even. We just differ on the level of corruption in police work in 2012.

  36. Reality Is, let’s just get together and debate this issue before those who run this blog.

We can allow them to write their own story on who’s who in the zoo as to me and you.

I’ll let the chips fall where they may.
