I thought it was out of line, although its roughness would barely register by the FFFF standards that Travis either tolerate or participates in here, but for anyone who knows anything about psychological theory the comment was not really about Travis’s mother but about Travis himself, as too-early weaning is supposed to be associated with certain unpleasant personality traits (like brattiness, as I recall) that she apparently sees in him.

Personally, I find the question of Travis’s personality flaws, as demonstrated during his time on the council so far, to be debatable. Indeed, I’d like to see them debated!

I agree, Jane; I don’t recall ever seeing anything misogynistic from you, and I categorically condemn misogyny from those who are swimming against the FFFF tide. However, I also condemn misogyny from those who trumpet the FFFF line. Would you like me to post links to some examples of that? It’s gotten worse since the desperate fear of Flory set in.
