FFFF Welcomes Cynthia Ward’s “THINK for Yourself” Blog To Our Blogroll

When I first met Cynthia Ward, we were engaged in a harsh disagreement over a particular county clerk who was posturing himself as a candidate for OC Supervisor. Things got ugly, as they do. But after the dust settled, both Cynthia and I realized that we actually had more in common than not.

So we quickly became friends and ever since then I have been enjoying Cynthia’s cutting honesty and fearless resolve. Today’s I’d like to introduce Cynthia’s new blog, “Think for Yourself, OC.” Please take a look.

I am a truth-teller. It gets me in trouble. But if you ask me if a dress makes you look fat, I will tell so, and help select another, before you go on television and realize it for yourself. My real friends are expected to be truthful with me as well. A secret shared will be taken to my grave, but lie to me, and it will end up here…on these pages… especially if you are tasked with the stewardship of public resources. I am a registered Republican who disdains the local GOP power structure, a born-again Christian who supports everyone’s right to spend their lives with the partner of their choosing. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister. I am a loyal friend to those who merit that friendship and when crossed I am a bitch with a capital C. I do not fit into a box, nor do I see others through the stereotypes that politics and public affairs so often tries to shoehorn us into. I think for myself, and so do you. Welcome to our shared space in this world.

-Cynthia Ward

Let’s get behind Cynthia and cause her campaign in Anaheim the same success as FFFF has had in Fullerton.

The crowd she has to deal with in Anaheim is smarter and richer than the three bald tires and have the obvious advantage that Disney is their silent partner.

What does it mean when you say you are a born again Christian who supports everyone’s right to spend their lives with a partner of their choosing?
Does this mean you support domestic partnerships or same sex marriage?
I believe that everyone currently has the right to spend their life with whomever they choose anyway right now as far as gender is concerned so I am asking for more clarification and insight into what you mean specifically.

A third person will be charged in the death of homeless man, Kelly Thomas. Sources close to the case tell KFI News that the Orange County District Attorney’s Office has notified attornies that charges are imminent against former Fullerton police officer, Joe Wolfe.

It’s not clear what or when charges will be filed.

Looks like the “Bomb-Shell” dropped! With the help of so many supporters (Kelly’s Army) and even so many of the reporters from the media and around the world, I have accomplished everything that I have gone after so far. I made it clear from the beginning that I was going to take down Fullerton and its Police Department, and re-build it the way that the people wanted to be. Today there are many new policies, a new City Council, better conditions for all people especially the homeless and the mentally ill, and Police Officers that actually care about people and about conducting themselves as professionals. These murderers had no idea what they set in motion when they brutally beat my son to death as he cried out for me to save him. We the people will not rest until there is complete justice for Kelly. Be assured, even when you don’t hear from me, I am still going after EVERYONE that had anything to do with Kelly’s murder.

Ron did NOTHING for this city. WE did and not only did he refuse to help, he made it a point to distance himself from our (successful) efforts repeatedly. We’re not done and where is he? Off counting the money or looking at things to spend it on? FUCK HIM!! And if not for the real working members of what was once a viable Kelly’s Army along with Tony getting the picture of Kelly out there, he’d be NOWHERE. Oh bitch slap urge…I think you’re going to be here awhile.

        • #12 by The Ego Has Landed on September 17, 2012

Tell us again, Ron – how exactly did you help with the recall? Let’s see…you distanced yourself at every possible chance and then showed up at Travis’ post election party and announced you were going to turn Fullerton into a charter city and move here and run for money. You even shamelessly told Tony you’ll have more money than him to do so. Since filing your lawsuit, you’ve altered your plans with the expected money several times. Hell, you’ve even changed the reason you filed it. The latest being to force transparency. Own up to the fact you hadn’t seen your son for awhile and couldn’t even recognize a picture of him. What exactly have you done for Kelly’s homeless friends here in Fullerton? Do you even know who they are? Go ahead and play up that Kelly called for you. Any shrink will tell you it’s most likely he reverted to a child mentality. You didn’t have a current relationship with him when he was killed, did you? Funny how no one recalls seeing you around until after Kelly’s death. Oh and don’t even think about bribing people to say otherwise. Although I’m not and never have been an official member of Kelly’s Army, I’ve stood with them in solidarity. I had your number from almost the beginning and refused to align myself with anything to do with you. You mentioned in your last earth shattering news that it’s your haters claiming Kelly’s Army had disbanded. Are you insane? Or is it that you can’t keep up with your own bullshit? It was YOU who said you were done in your rambling drivel after slamming Dana and the others after a request for an accounting of KTMF funds.

Correction: Ron announced he’d run for mayor (not money).

        • #15 by Nomad on September 17, 2012

The city of Fullerton rallied to the aid of KT, and by extension RT, led largely by the quick thinking of T. Bushala and the 4F. RT did not claim to be the savior of Fullerton, 4F did claim to support the cause of justice on KT’s behalf and unwaveringly has. The cymbionic(sp) relationship that exists between 4F and RT has been benificial to both the cause of justice for KT and by bringing to light not only the corruption that exists in the FPD but also in the city council as well. I don’t care how much money Mr. Thomas gets or does not get, I hope this family finds justice and peace for thier murdered son and I do not live in Fullerton but I hope its residents contine to make reforms for the better.

          • #16 by The Ego Has Landed on September 18, 2012

Ron Thomas didn’t claim to be the savior of Fullerton? Scroll up and read the letter that was posted. He wrote that. Read other messages from him. They’re all about the Great Ron Thomas.

I’ve said it before. The way our council mishandled the Kelly Thomas beatdown murder was the final straw that resulted in the recall of the three. But it alone wouldn’t have done it. And it was their mishandling that did it. No one blamed them for the cops’ actions that night. By extension, this strongly involved Kelly but had shite to do with Ron. I can assure you, for the few who signed the recall petitions solely because of what happened to Kelly, a fairly equal amount refused to sign for the same reason. They felt the council wasn’t to blame for Kelley’s death and thought that was the only reason. Adding to that was Ron publicly stating he was separate from the recall and it wasn’t part of his doings. He said it often, including at council meetings and on TV. How dare he say the past few months that he rebuilt our council and take even an ounce of credit for what he did absolutely nothing for. He is full of himself and I think he actually believes the lies about himself, including the one about him being a good father to Kelly.

We generally get along well, though we disagree on most of the things you’d expect. We’re mostly on the same side in Anaheim.

        • #23 by Greg Diamond on September 19, 2012

It’s a second-story apartment spanning the width and length of two two-car garages (one of which is ours), so it’s the size of a lot of middle income houses and we really like it. It’s very nice in this economy not to be underwater on a mortgage (and my sympathies to those reading this who are.) A fourth bedroom would be nice, I admit; maybe next year, though for us to move it would have to be pretty good.

I’m trying to decide whether to put pix of my apartment vs. Huff’s on my website, Mr. Not. You know, a “Man of the People” kind of thing. What do you think? Think I should go for the Mitt Romney approach instead?

Well. Chiefs, City Managers, and Council peeps can’t say much to Doctors opinions or diagnosis. Especially if several Doctors give the same opinions. Then you get medical retirements like Sellers and Wolfe and others. Cops have presumed injuries or medical issues. With 20 plus years these are almost always supported by Doctors and medical retirements are approved. Even if Kiger said no, a later lawsuit would make Kiger and Fullerton lose even more money. Doctors are the bosses.

Thanks for the shameless plug Tony, I hope that my odd little piece of electronic reality can do even a small percentage 9Countywide) of what you have done to change the climate in Fullerton.

#1 Durfee: Thanks, we need all the help we can get in Anaheim, where chrony-capitalism has become a cottage industry. We do have hope in our new Mayor, but he needs help to shine the light that sends the roaches scurrying.

#2 Picture: I think it is up at the blog, if not I believe my facebook page is open to the public (aren’t I a trusting soul? ) Feel free to mine the page for images of me, manipulate them with devil’s horns, whatever. But my dog is off limits.

#3 Momof4js: please have Tony bring you for “Sunday dinner.” He can explain.

#4 Clarity: Yes, it means that I think homosexuals are entitled to the same right to be miserably bored out of their minds with the same person day in and day out as the rest of us. It means that while I appreciate the hyper-focus of our elected leaders on preserving the American family, I have no freaking idea what that has to do with whether my next door neighbor can marry his boyfriend. In fact, the only reason same sex unions would be a threat to my marriage is if they stole my husband. (I can understand the desire, he is a rockin’ fine cook, but he is mine.) It means that I do not think any of us fit a specific stereotype, whether defining our religion, social status, or politics. I homeschooled for years without a denim jumper.

    #5 Tricia: thank you.

#6 Politics: No. But one of my daughters was so bossy that we nicknamed her “The Queen of Police” does that count?

Anyway, back to the ThinkOC blog, we have a wide variety of writers and viewpoints, it will likely lean to the right politically, but there are also some more liberal voices presented. The one consistent factor is that we respect each other, even when we disagree, and there is no Kool-Aid served. All positions are to be backed up with facts no matter who is writing. So it ought to be a fun ride, please check us out. The site is still in its infancy, and the design needs some polishing, but we already have some interesting posts in place. I hope to see you over there when you are done reading here.

    Welcome.

I look forward to the evolving blogesphere in OC.
Yesterdays edition with Dueling Identies (Jubal), lawsuits and petty games (The LiberalOC) , sensationalism (NSA) and a far LEFT turn (OJB) have left only one place for reasonable discourse (until you know who showed up), Hopefully, you will be able to steal a page from the Red Sox Fan’s and the Deadheads and find a way to police your pages, while keeping it interesting.

And may your blog effect change in Anaheim, and all of Orange County, like this one did in Fullerton.

Best Wishes for readership, spirited debate and success.

Cynthia, you homeschooled? I knew it! I can’t put my finger on what gave it away – perhaps, it was the ‘tone’ in your writing. I’m ashamed to confess though, I did own a denim jumper (actually several – ugh!). But that was in the days of past – and thankfully, I have seen the error of my ways (the Duggar denim – not the homeschool).

And, your #4 point – finally someone gets it!

Looking forward to spending time reading your “ThinkOC” blog.

“Proposition 32, the “Paycheck Protection” Initiative, is on the November 6, 2012 ballot in California as an initiated state statute.[1]
    If approved, Proposition 32 will:

Ban both corporate and union contributions to state and local candidates
Ban contributions by government contractors to the politicians who control contracts awarded to them
Ban automatic deductions by corporations, unions, and government of employees’ wages to be used for politics”

Interesting. Another law that will not survive constitutional scrutiny. It’s not an opinion about it’s merits, but an observation.

It was YOU who said you were done in your rambling drivel after slamming Dana and the others after a request for an accounting of KTMF funds.

Here is another one of the egos…claims
Another important issue that I have been working on with acting Chief Dan Hughes. As many of us know, Kelly’s Memorial has been repeatedly vandalized. The Balloons have been cut loose, pictures taken off of the light pole, the flowers removed……Even now, some people still don’t realize that just because they don’t see me, does not mean that I’m not watching. Together with some good police work by the FPD, and information from the local homeless community, the person doing all of the vandalizing has been caught in the act. I would have thought that it was someone from the Slidebar, but it was not (I’m sure as hell not protecting them). So, hopefully this takes care of that issue.

Yeah he has been working with the Cheif, the guy who killed his son, his men. Right? Mr Thomas, you never called the city until it was mentioned in city council that you didnt even call to see if the memorial was fine. Ask Joe Felz. Then you watched as everyone put back together the memorial you didnt even let anyone use your ladder, they used a shopping cart. Right? While you stood in the shade while we did everything again, and we sat under the tress and had lunch and fed the homeless, you did nothing, you didnt pay for shit. You sick sick sick sick man. You never cared about kelly, wait until the tapes show how you acted when the cops said for you to pick up kelly…you pretended he wasnt alive. Now he is finally paying off, all that bitchin you did about him, what a problem he was. Ron Thomas, you are a pathetic man. You will get no money from Fullerton. You will get diseases from the troll tards you have over to fuck you in that sterile house with those dogs, and with all that art you havent told the IRS about. Your 15 minutes are over.

  13. #46 by The Ego Has Landed on September 17, 2012

Hmmm I missed that letter. Truly pathetic. I wasn’t at the memorial when it was being rebuilt after the protests at FPD several weeks ago. However, I did see the pictures. The first ones I saw were of the group and yes, using a shopping cart to balance on to put things up. Later, I saw pictures of Ron Thomas with a ladder, minus the group with the shopping cart. I was confused until it was later explained that Ron got there while everyone was still at the protest and then refused to let people use the ladder. I was able to confirm the timeline by looking at the pictures again. There was more decorations, etc in the shopping cart pictured than in the ladder pictures with Ron, thus showing the ladder pictures were taken before the ones with the shopping cart. What the fuck, Ron? You’re not the big deal anymore so you take your ball and go home? Why did you hang around and watch? Hoping the media would show up? You pathetic piece of snail slime. This wasn’t about you. This was for your son. You know, the one you’re hoping to cash in on. You might talk the shit but you certainly don’t walk it. You don’t give a shit about that memorial anymore than you gave a shit about your son. I’ve talked to A LOT of people who knew Kelly. They mentioned his sister and his mother but not one mentioned ever seeing or hearing about you. I previously mentioned not to think about bribing people to lie for you about what a loving and doting father you were. You don’t know who I’ve spoken with or not. I’m ready to testify against anyone you might put on the stand to lie for you if I’ve heard them previously say the opposite. You should’ve taken the 900k when it was offered. You’ll be lucky to get that now.

I was one of the members that was at the “rebuild the memorial” event. All that ws said above is true. The ladder did disapeared once we arrived. Didn’t need it though. We are pretty resourceful. Most of the people that are repulsed by what happened to Kelly are completely DIY. It has pretty much been DIY for us the whole time. Rons only assistance during this whole thing is hob knobbin with the media. He does like to look at himself.

        • #49 by KL on September 18, 2012

Why did you put up with him then?

        • #50 by Nomad on September 18, 2012

And my daughter and I contributed to KT’s memorial when it was first erected, she having placed flowers and I, a crucifix from around my neck. If RT did not keep the press updated, we would not have had near the amount of coverage and attention that this crime deserved. As for the memorial, though it began as a spontaneous, and remains a moving gesture, is RT expected to hoover there everyday? He thanked us for the gesture, if erecting this memorial was from the heart, what more is neccessary?

  14. #51 by Nomad on September 18, 2012

RT’s son was violently and senselessly murdered while crying out for his father to help him. RT has to live with that everyday for the rest of his life. Unless you have lost a son or daughter in a similar manner, you do not know how you would react. RT did not ask to be the savior of Fullerton, but he has tried to lend his assistance, while battleing for justice for his son Kelly. If he hasn’t always conducted himself the way some feel that he should have, pray that you are never put in a similar position by loseing a child to violence, just so you may show everyone how you would conduct yourself. I am a father and I have looked into this mans eyes, and see his pain and sadness. In my home he continues to be referred to as Mr Thomas by my daughter and I and has our continued support and respect.

YOu think Polly CLaus dad is a bad guy, he never ever used his daughters tragedy to get a pay day…Mr. Thomas has never ever cared for his son, listen to the police tapes when they call ron and ask him to get kelly, he said he was dead to him, its on the tape…you can live with what ever lie makes you feel better, but the reality is, RON THOMAS, best day was the day his headache Kelly was gone, and he could get a pay day, this is claim to fame his dead son…he is gross, and frankly should be put in jail for non profit fraud…KTMF is a fraud, never one thing done, not one thing. Look up on the IRS page, or better yet call them they will tell you no such organization exsist.

You are a credit to your family, your “kid” may grow up to be just like you. As for looking anything up about RT, he could be a free mason, nazi sympathizer for what it matters to me. This is now and always has been about justice for Kelly Thomas.

Nomad after all that is said about good old Ron you are still protecting him? Stop looking through Ron’s crocodile fake tears. Justice for his deep pockets. Kelly was a derespectful jerk. Just like his father.

We heard how the F6 had broken bones, how KT was breaking into cars, super human strength, drugs, no charges would be filed against cicinelli and ramos, video would not be released to the public, audio would be a game changer, recall would fail, case would not go to trial, wolfe would not be charged, now we have arrived at the last bastion, personal attacks against Ron Thomas.

    • #59 by Anonymous on September 18, 2012

There have ALWAYS been personal attacks against Ron Thomas. I’m sure that there are a great many truisms and validity to East of Drake and The Ego Has Landed’s suppositions, however I’m not fighting for justice for Ron Thomas, I’m fighting for his son Kelly, whose voice has been silenced.

    “I am a truth-teller.”

Except when it comes to telling who paid for your lawsuit against Steve Lodge.

  19. #61 by East of Drake on September 18, 2012

Personal attacks, that are truthful…now thats something…the truth try that on for size, I used to like Ron Thomas, I did investigation and guess what he is a fraud, and he gets no money from Fullerton. Wise up, you alone are the only one who thinks he is a saint. Kelly called for his dad, to stop beating him, like he did at home. Why has no one in his family stood by him. Not a one. Whydo you think that is? He has never been around and only shows up when a pay day is involved. This is the truth. It sucks I know, but I would rather live in reality that swallow his lies.

    • #62 by Truth of Ron on September 18, 2012

I think people are seeing the true Ron over time. Many were fooled. That’s why most have now seperated Ron & Kelly as two seperate things. Justice for Kelly. No money for Ron. Give the money to charity instead.

A saint?,No, a father who lost his son, in the most violent of ways imaginable? Yes. As far as being the only one? Gods will be done.

I just wish these idiots of Fullerton would give me my blood money already!

Please support my efforts to make Fullerton a “Drone Free Zone”. I am proposing our City Council institute a ban on all Drone aircraft (regardless of size) to be used by the Fullerton Police Department AND to ban all Drones from using the Fullerton Municipal Airport (no taking off or landing). Let’s stop the craziness before it comes to Fullerton. Make your town a “Drone Free Zone” too. Stay tuned and “like” if you support my initiative.

You do realize that when someone professes to tell the truth it’s usually a signal that they are going to start lying.

Has anyone else read the latest edition of the Fullerton Observer which shoukldf really be called the Fullerton Selfserver?

No wonder they have to give that newspaper away for free at the grocery stores in Fullerton.

Joseph Goebells was the minister of propoganda for the Nazi regime, and he couldn’t hold a candle to the articles that are published in the Fullerton Selfserver.

The irony is that no one ever takes credit for these articles, they’re simply credited to “Staff”.

I also noticed that Jan Flory has a half-page advertisement inside of the Selfserver.

I didn’t see the picture of Jan Flory, Mayor Sharon Silva, and Doug Chaffee posing together with Kitty Jaramillo though?

Nor did I see the picture of Lieutenant Andrew Goodrich, former FPOA Vice President, standing on stage at Steamers exorting the crowd to support all of these candidates for political office?

    Strange huh?

Question asked, question answered. You would have better luck trying to dig to China with a plastic spoon, than of getting me to drink from your kool-aid. The last bastion of the “culture of coruption”, personal attacks on RT.

Nomad, you sure are going that extra mile to seem impartial and trying to focus on justice for Kelly and keep the heat off Ron Thomas. But you blew that when you attempted to discredit me.

Ron writes many letters about the Great Ron Thomas and then plasters them all over Facebook in multiple groups, grabbing as much spotlight as possible. I could’ve simply gone with the comment here about his letter re his greatness and rebuilding the memorial, the vandal, etc but instead, I readily admitted missing that one. As far as the pictures go, pictures don’t lie. He was there first, with a ladder. Then there was no ladder when everyone else arrived. As for me being willing to testify against people should he have people lie for him, I was clear and specific about it being people I’d already spoken. I would obviously know if they were changing their story for Ron’s benefit.

Clearly, you don’t grasp what credibility really is or you would’ve never never saw the comments you mentioned as a sign of someone lacking credibility. Or was it wishful thinking on your part? Better yet, are you simply trying to deflect any negativity off Ron and convince people here that I’m not credible? You’re wasting your time if so because it’s not here that matters. It’s in court where Ron has to show how great a loss his son is to him to get the bigger pay out.

Someone above put it best when they mentioned people separating justice for Kelly and supporting Ron Thomas. Ron and his followers believe you can’t do one without the other. I say bullshit.

    Fuck Ron Thomas.

Justice for Kelly. It is and always will be about this for most of us and nothing else.

  26. #71 by Nomad on September 18, 2012

If contributing to Kellys memorial was going to cause you to become so emotional and vindictive perhaps you should have just offered a prayer on Kelly’s behalf. As for discrediting you? I’m not interested in who you are or think you are and you seem to be doing a good job of that all by yourself.

    • #72 by The Ego Has Landed on September 18, 2012

There you again with deflection. This isn’t about the memorial. It’s about a man who is nothing more than a fraud and deception. Although you tried to come off as impartial about him, you aren’t. The majority of people in Fullerton are sick of Ron Thomas and can’t wait for the day he’ll get whatever he gets from the civil trial and be gone. More and more people are coming forward with first hand accounts of the real Ron Thomas and it’s not pretty. As long as he continues to put himself out there as some mega star, taking credit for what others have done, people will counter him to with facts and truth, myself included. It matters not what you think of me. Not one person has come forward to support Ron’s version of things. The best people like you can do is buy into his crap because you can sympathize with a parent who’s lost his son. No one is able to actually say, oh yeah, I was with Ron and saw him do all the planning and legwork that he claims.

Cue here: Ron or his supporters line someone up to say they were present for all the blood, sweat and tears and thousands of hours that Ron put in.

Your only reason not to believe what I or others are saying about Ron is out of choice, which you are certainly entitled to do. But you’re not able to counter them with anything else.

…The best you can do is buy into his crap because you can sympathize with a parent who’s lost his son…Yea. I can live with that
