10/28/09 72nd Absentee Ballot Totals

At the Registrar of Voters site you can keep track of how many absentee ballots have been mailed in. As of yesterday just a little under 13,000 were returned. Since Wednesday’s counts were significantly lower than Tuesday’s it looks like the hump is past and the majority may have already been cast. It will be interesting to see if the Ackerman, Inc. continues its barrage of junk mail in pursuit of a dwindling number of likely voters.

Here’s hoping they waste a lot of their lobbyist money. And here are the totals:

November 17 , 2009 Statewide Special Election
Raw Count of Vote-by-Mail Ballots Returned

date count
10/21/2009 63
10/22/2009 1,851
10/23/2009 2,441
10/26/2009 3,571
10/27/2009 3,235
10/28/2009 1,746
Total: 12,907

  1. Hope those votes aren’t for Ackerman. Have received about 5 anti-Norby mailings from the “Alliance for California’s Tomorrow”? Very offensive.. Would anyone have contact info for them? Can you file complaint w/OC Registrar of Voters about campaign literature?

  2. Anon:

Dont waste your time. Do you really think telling people that send crap like that you were offended is a surprise to them or they care?

Vote for someone other than their candidate and rub it in when their gal looses. Thats much more effective.

  3. So they already have 16% of the absentee ballots returned. I’m assuming that the Harpoon is giving a 20% figure on absentee ballots and Party Hack is talking about all registered voters.

  4. Right as to me. Expectations out of my sources in Sacto not affiliated with either campaign are 10 to 12 % total turnout.

  5. I got two more anti-Norby pieces in the mail today. Same really tired stuff. Looks like the Ackermans are scorching the earth. Quality and class. Must be how you do it down in Irvine.

    I voted for Norby today.
